Thanks to “Personne” for this one.
Hello everyone,
allegedly after 6 years, the Saumur King Tiger is moving again. On 7.6.2014, it was shown to public. The engine sound is fantastic… I wish WG recorded this.

it really sounds underpowered…
Really?
The resonance of the “vroom” makes it sound pretty nice in my opinion.
That’s because it is, with ~9 HP/ton it’s actually slower than a KV-1 over terrain. Not only that but the Germans being the Germans, the drivetrain is seriously overburdened and poorly designed (compare to M4 etc).
King Tiger Engine sounds + Jagdpanther Gun Sounds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oqm4gunNTFo a total eargasm all the way
That’s definitely goose-bump inducing!
Check out the engine sounds of the JPanther too:

Tank a good meter too high, and it seems that driver kind of lacks experience in gear shifting.
Engine sounds like petrol engine, not like diesel one.
Thats because the germans used petrol engines in their WW2 tanks.
Yea, and you would be that very experienced KT driver, I presume? :)
I think I could learn how to use pre-selector gearbox. Pre-selector is they key word.
Oh, i didn’t know it was preselector? Still, the clutch was mechanical, friction?
Can’t find much info on this.
Basically, in a car, you first step on clutch, then shift gears. On a tank (some tanks do have this, some not, IIRC), you first select the gear you want to shift to, then you press the clutch. The_Chieftain mentioned this in some of his videos, can’t remember which though
Yep, sounds right to me. I’d once driven a T55, it was nothing like in a car and it’s heavy duty. I can’t remember if I pressed the clutch before selecting the gears…
I know how you operate a pre-selector. I asked if it the clutch was mechanical friction one or fluid-coupling.
“It’s diesel”
What. Do you have any idea about German tanks?
The Pzkpfw. VI Tiger II used a petrol engine, the Maybach HL 230 with 700 HP.
Nerdgasm v2.0: The experience
Is this a authentic KT sound? The saumur Tiger got an upgraded 1500hp engine as far as i know, Not sure if this upgrade changed the sound…
You gotta be shitting me for believing that….
mm dat tank ass.. kt is love, kt is life
sounds like a tiger’s roar
Dat Tiger Roar.
Eargasm from hearing one of the sexiest engines in the universe :3
~Hunter
My car sounds better :P
And that noob didn’t upgrade the gun. Use the 10,5 cm, noob!
Maybe he has just researched the tracks and the turret.
Everybody know you use the enhanced suspension and leave the track upgrade for last :)
What a beast!
It never quite feels that awesome in game, it’s still a very, very good tank but mein Gott it’s HUGE and scary in real life.
Just listen to that kitty purr. =^_^=
Must have been terrifying to see that beast coming towards you as an allied soldier. Monster of a tank – shame its total SHIT in game.
Shame you are total shit in game.
Yeah it must have been terrifying to see the Tiger II coming towards you ,a poor private sob in the army, and then falling into ditch with the grace of a 4 story building just because the road was not stronk enough for the ,,pride of ze fatherland” and Herr Heinz Senf :)- ze driver.. very scary :))
P.S You are a funny you Germans :))) and I love you.
this is already my fav tank, but this sound it would be glorious!
Awesome sound indeed… Come on WG, they have a stake in the Bovington museum, right? They should have access to record this…
It’s in France :P
beat this damn lawn mower sounds of world of tanks ._.
just awesome
First 5 seconds of first video = dayum boi
This Königstiger is too sexy for us.
AWESOME :D !
gnomefather does seem to have gotten the sound right.
Nah, the sound for the Maybach HL 230 TRM P45, the top engine of the King Tiger, is the same as on the Tiger I, as they both got the same engine, and that sound is from the Tiger 131 on Bovington, so it’s not the same.
If you use the stock engine, however, it’s better sounding, but to be honest, that sound is quite shit for such a massive tank, so I will think of changing it to this if I can get better recordings.
Also, I need to setup the mod again, as my OS was destroyed by a virus.
Sorry guys. WG needs the money for that shit show “Tank You Very Much” . Maybe they will manage to record this awesome engine sounds in 2017.
They also need to make sure that the German portal is in Portuguese. These things are essential and can’t just get cut for little gimmicks like “immersion” or “engaging gameplay experience” or anything like that.
Level of sarcasm in these two posts is too damn high!!
WOW that engine noise. nice to see old tanks up and running
Hmm
Here is the video from 2012
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGNV_zEGXxY
The screech sound tracks do seems to be very loud compared to the engine. Is it really that loud or is it poor sound quality not giving justice to the deep bass sound of the engine?
sounds awesome, but still i like their Panther more :)
http://youtu.be/GOWoXFf2Bvc?t=6m52s
Dunno if the engine’s genuine but it’s sounds… jaw dropping…

This is a video with a better sound quality of when they stated that same tank a few years ago.
Its the maybach engine
nice video sadly i have seen this video years ago! im pretty sure
Yes I already said that this video was when they started that tank YEARS AGO
kinda like the sound of the B1 bis https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JJqDIQOuJE
