This is WG EU’s new building for 171 employees. The original building at first had cca 50 people, but their count has tripled ever since.

“We built this family as closely as we could. We like to work with each other and we’re convinced that liking the people you work with is key to the future the company and for the motivation of everybody in the long term,” said Wargaming director of EMEA and NA Frédéric Menou. “We believe that being on the same floor and seeing each other every day, and having a mingling area where people can talk to each other and play pool helps a lot. And the door to my office is always open.”

From the article:

Floor-to-ceiling windows treat the eye to some striking views of West Paris. Whiteboards dotted about the workspace allow staff to scrawl ideas and pictures. The meeting rooms have sci-fi-style, full colour displays showing who is present in them and when they are next free. Military-themed décor – ammo crates, sandbags, cameo netting – adds to the considerable paraphernalia strewn across each desk.

So, don’t forget to buy premium accounts, gold and prem tanks, guys, WG needs moar dekorashunz!

    Sooo WG sooo WG

  2. Wow, SS is so fast! Only 2 months old news! Gratz! How does it feel? Are you proud? Are you happy?

  3. Hehe.

Can we expect more FAIL from WG EU now? Or they hired more competent people and proofreaders?

  4. “So, don’t forget to buy premium accounts, gold and prem tanks, guys, WG needs moar dekorashunz!”

You could knock off stuff like this, doesn’t make for good player – company relationships if you use it even in these objective announcements. Decorations like these are dime a dozen, and nobody questions things like working Engie sentry at Valve’s HQs.

Same goes with stupid stuff like “stronkhold”, but that’s maybe only my opinion.

      • Does it seem angry? Not at all, man~

It’s just the concept. WG tries something -> SS writes about it in negative/ sarcastic manner -> Players think it must fail and approach it negatively -> It fails because of such approach.

I just think we should avoid as much negativity as possible, especially when you report about news (which are prone to failure from time to time, it’s logical) or about “normal” stuff like this (WG had to move, that’s undebatable, but that extra part sounds like they are abusing money, which simply isn’t true). The players generate enough negative content by themselves.

        • What else would you expect?
WG is evil, because they dont like SS and its his way for payback. Misusing blog that he has built up on solid news and research to negate/mock everything they do.

FTR is mostly tabloid now mocking WG (ofc they deserve it for their fails), witchhunting unicum players (envy maybe?) and top clans for not behaving correctly to Polish tomatoes.

Unlucky they are the majority of all tomatoes/bots because of large player base and are most visible with their spam, polish flags and PL nicknames which SS confuses with rasism.

GJ as long as the new readers keep coming…

          • “FTR is mostly tabloid now mocking WG (ofc they deserve it for their fails), witchhunting unicum players (envy maybe?) and top clans for not behaving correctly to Polish tomatoes.”

That’s not true, FTR is still mostly source of news and historical articles. Though in some rare cases like I wrote above, SS’s bias shows a bit too much where it shouldn’t. Still doesn’t mean it’s a tabloid, that’s fairly harsh.

“Unlucky they are the majority of all tomatoes/bots because of large player base and are most visible with their spam, polish flags and PL nicknames which SS confuses with rasism.”

That’s untrue as well. The majority of the tomatoes is in the game because the measure (WN8) uses data from a source (vbaddict) that mostly top players use. It’s like comparing every chess player to the skill of Magnus Karlsen (the current world champion) by colour – of course 90% of them would be tomatoes. Some other source for Gauss distribution would be much better, but that’s a system thing, WG and WN8 developers would have to work on it together, probably.

Also 90+% of what SS “shames” actually IS racism or bannable offenses. Heavily so, if it depended on me. When I notice such stuff in-game (it’s rare, because I usually don’t read chat, but it happens), I report it right away.

            • 1) Mostly. But tabloid stuff keeps coming more and more. Misusing power built on serious work and articles to mock people without proper evidence/publishing half of the story? No, thank you.

              2) You know there is something wrong when people die in first minute/drown/block you/shoot you. I dont need xvm to recognize a retard/bot. Most of them has PL behind their nickname and polish flag on their tank spamming chat with Siemka.

This is no racism. That is just observation. Also a lot of the great players are polish because of large player base.

I wont mind if people will start calling me Czech moron, if I start spamming chat of an international game with bullshit that others dont understand and start blocking people with CZ after my nickname. I would deserve it for having no brain. That just comes with how you present yourself in game. Most Polish players present themselves badly, so they get bad treatment. Simples.

Ofc, wishing people concentration camps and bringing on the WW2 stuff is not allright but witchhunting these people on a news blog? Why do that? With half of the evidence? How small has your dick need to be to do that? If you need to fap to something, just watch some porn or find a girlfriend.

              • That last bit was unnecessary, since I already have a GF, thank you :)

And while I agree mostly, I disagree on two things. First, that “half-evidence” thing. Swearing is a purposeless thing and aggressive swearing wishing someone death is unjustifiable, because after all it’s just a game. Swear all you want at your screen (I do that too), but don’t bring it to chat.
And second thing, it’s not witch hunting – it’s not meant exactly against the players (though unfortunately it bothers them, I understand), but ultimately at WG EU to do something about it.

                • The last bit was for SS. Sorry, if I wrote it wrong.

Yeah, ok. But what if the other side replied in kind? You never see the screenshots becuase SS is the tomato protector at any cost. So it doesnt matter what tomato did as long he can humiliate some unicum/strong clan like EFE.

He may mean well aiming at WG to do something about it, but they hate him anyway so this wont help for sure. I have seen a lot of brutal stuff in chat over the four years of WoT, but its just rage stuff. One wont go grassing to some self-invited moral god to post it on his random blog. If you cant deal with your problems and you get yelled at every other game you probably suck and shall not play this game anymore because you are ruining it for others. Or just simply go play low-tiers and leave T10 for people who know what to do. It is that simple. No good player will get shitstormed regularly because he usually carries the rest of the monkeys.

        • If you refer about Stronkhold mode, actually i am pretty interested even though SS is very cynical about this.

Thankfully even as cynical as SS is about Stronkhold mode, he still show us what Stronkhold mode will offers and i can only hope my Commanders will give it a try.

          Lastly, ‘Stronkhold’ sounds funnier.

    • Oh now… I like stronkhold. It’s one of those things that communitys (and we are a community here) come up with that end up as a part of the local lingo and lore. Unless it’s actively offensive, we should encourage that sort of thing.

But I do have to agree somewhat with him, SS. Companies need to put their employees somewhere and I don’t think they should ever be mocked for making an attempt at producing a work environment that’s more enticing than a cube farm.

  7. So they need 171 people to translate literally one news per day (on average, cuz durning weekends u got few news but l8r u got 3 days without any), and on top of that most of times their translation is wrong and full of bugs.

  8. What the actual fuck?

171 people creating close to 0 content, giving us crap specials, abysmal customer support, and overall, consistently doing their best to look incompetent.

    Amazing.

      • 80%? Or is 80 just average IQ of the support staff? From the support I have seen reported/received, 80 could just about be right ;-)

        • An IQ of 80 for Paris WG staff is overestimated, people who can read tickets and write an answer need to have an IQ of 80 or higher.

Whenever have you got the impression that somebody has read and understood your ticket? And whenever have you got an answer from support not released by a monkey pressing a button?

          • Now imagine the number of braindead retards spamming them with bullshit tickets asking the same stuff all over again.

I have never had problem with WG support, because during 3 years I used only 3 tickets to solve only serious problems and everytime somebody helped me.

WG EU is not great, they are not even average in dealing with stuff. But when I see those numbers of zombies in randoms I still think they are doing enough. These animals dont deserve anything until they start to use their brains.

            • I agree that there are a lot of braindead people out there, but that’s no reason to hire braindead people for support.

              Any examples? Well:
              - I wanted to buy gold with direct banking, I opened a ticket added screenshots with the errormessage of the banking portal site and I got the answer: “It works.”
Well it didn’t work – it do not work until today. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but then “it works” does not help as answer ;)

              - Lag problems, a guy asked for help and got the answer to defragment his SSD – what an answer – mindblowing stupid, only possible at Wargaming Europe.

              - The super-moron W4RGAMER has written a posting, summarized as follows: “Please report a bot in game and ask others to do the same”. Short after a guy got a 24 hours game ban because he asked other to report a bot. I opened then a ticket, asking what is now OK? Answer was, it was not OK to call others for reporting somebody. OK, clear answer. Asked again, why then W4RGAMER (the true christ – as he call himself in the german forum) still has published his posting where he wants that players do report bots and ask others to do the same. The answer was: It’s OK to report somebody and to ask other players to do the same. – OK, clear answer, contradictionary to first – so let’s ask again. I have two answers, 1st one: it’s not OK, 2nd one: its’ OK. – What is correct now?
The answer I got was: We feel you just want to troll us, if you ask us another time, you will get a game ban.

This said, yes, support is a hard job – but it’s much harder for customer if you have only people there that will survive a Zombie-Attack just because there’s no brain attractive enough for Zombies ;)

  9. I know that certain blog CAN influence some ppl to not play WoT but honestly WG EU, how many of your playerbase reads FTR?

  10. Honestly I think we have a ton of EU whiners and insulters that need checked and banned all the time… But why dont you try to dig up what the cz community manager has been achieved for the last 3-6 months? What is he really doing for HIS money? Are they just translating the russian stuff into CZ?

  11. “We built this family as closely as we could. We like to work with each other…”
They have to be close to be able to plan their next fails easier, it takes teamwork to achieve such amazing fails every day.

    • “We built this family as closely as we could. We like to work with each other…” – given the fact that at least one person is there because he was fired at Blizzard for sexual harassement – this may be more true than we expect :)

  12. I have no idea why but the idea of “cameo” nets made me burst out in insane laughter.
