Panther Ausf.F with 88mm L/71
It’s supposed to come around the end of 2014 or early 2015. It’s a historical project, I wrote about it here some time ago (in case you are interested in details). I was kinda hoping for something exotic such as the autoloader Panther or the one with the gas turbine, but this will have to do.
On more personal note, I very much appreciate the way Tanitha runs things on ASIA server – good, straight answers, no “maybe” bullshit, pretty solid. Good job :)
So basically germany gets 2 premium mediums, M10Panther and Panther 88 with one tier difference?
Logicaly, both will have the same number of crew members, very similar stats when it comes to mobility.. Sounds like a good way to train your premium medium crew :P
gridning german mediums is sure going to be a lot easier crewwise for those who can aford to spend a couple dozens of €

Pass same medium crew through all those 5 (or more) German mediums to gather x2 daily = profit.
I have the panter M10, already got 2 crews on 4th skill for Leo and E-50M. For me there is no point in in having another Panther.
We have Panther at T6, T7, T8.
Need Super Panther at T9 and Super Panther B at T10 :D

Yeah it will be a 70kmh racecar with a 10 shot autoloading 21cm moerser, 1,2sec between shots and 30 sec drum reload, sherman accuracy on the move and 0,7 sec aimtime so it will be more balanced than the imbalanced wafflefrager e100.

There is a WT Panther and then there is a FlaK 41 Panther.
Tier 6: VK 30.02M
Tier 7: Panther, Panther M10, GW Panther and Jagdpanther
Tier 8: Panther II, Panther 8.8 cm and Jagdpanther II
Tier 9: E-50 (A better developed Panther, using techniques of the Tiger II)
Tier 10: E-50 M (A WG made up, more mobile E-50)

No the tier 8 tank is called Indian Panzer. How did you get Panther from Panzer?
Also E-50 might be based of the Panther but it is not a Panther by any means.
If you’re gonna include the Vk3002M it might be best if you include the VK3001DB and Vk3002DB since they are also Panther prototypes (statistically they are pretty similar to the Panther and VK3002M as well).

Well, since u can put out a T54 in 3 months but take a year for the Panther, I guess ill be back in late 2014 or early 2015…..

Okay…so average mobility (by medium standards), decent armor (by medium standards) and a good gun…this…looks pretty damned good, actually! I think I’ll be adding this one to my collection! :D
Well don’t forget, this is a Panther 1 hull, not the Panther 2 one, so the armor will be around 80 or maybe 100mm in the front. Mobility maybe the same as M10Panther one.
I think the gun will be the only good thing if they give it good RoF.
Mobility will be poorer, the gun and turret are heavier.

why would it have crap gun depression? currently all panthers have good gun depression (-8 degrees)
Because all the other Panthers have got 75 mm guns, which are way smaller. This Panther has got an 88 mm, which means much less space inside the turret. It will probably also have pretty bad RoF (because less space in turret).

Which makes me wonder why that doesn’t happen on the NA server…I suppose the tradeoff for us is having far less language barriers among the playerbase, but at the expense of everything else (but that still doesn’t explain the RU server, which theoretically has even fewer language barriers)

Seeing all the drama in the other servers makes me feel relieved to be in the ASIA server despite it being treated like a bastard child by WG.

Panther 1 hull I think.
that’s where the less armour comes in, that’s the big difference between the 2 hulls, panther 1 hull has less armour than the panther 2 hull
And more maneuverability. Although the Panther 2 tracks are better than the Panther 1 tracks.
Perhaps this Panther will get premium MM like the M10 Panther?

It’s gun is capable for a medium of that tier, I doubt it will get premium MM

Just what I thought, they are basically adding the beta Panther back.
Just like they added T23 as a prem tenk which used to be T8 USA medium tenk before they’ve implemented Pershing and removed the T23
Taking this and the Turbopanther Storm/SerB was talking about into account, It seems reasonable that This panther with turbine engine (and maybe autoloader for 7.5cm L/70?) will replace E-50, if E-50 and E-50M will be united…
Maybe they should make the Panther II into the autoloader variant and let the premium panther be the 88mm variant with a little better armour…
Its not impossible for Panther M10 to be removed from store , so that Panther F could be sold better , on pretext of “redundance”…

Hello? This is a Panther 1 hull, not Panther 2 one, so it means even less armor…
What he said, and besides, the Panther M10 is basically a stock panther that looks a bit different + 100 hp, so… same tank, only you have to pay gold to get it.
What will be the drawbacks? Somewhat less armor? Doesn’t really matter…
PIIs biggest one is mobility.
If this will have less armor/weight then probably will have better mobility too… good luck on balancing them :)
Btw… with such gun I don’t think it will have preferred MM as a med… But there is FCM… so who knows…
If it is Panther hull and engine, with the mentioned turret and gun (which are heavier than the Panther’s top ones), mobility should be something like Panther II, or in any case, poorer than Panther.

It is a Panther with the big ass heavy long 88 gun. I don’t see the gun depression there.
Both turret and hull (and gun) already in game – so it lacks basic premium requirement – it could be mounted on existing regular, even historically… More historically, than L/100 mosquito.
I am very disappointed, i was expecting something more exotic, not this common gun, common turret, common hull… If they don’t give it a turbine too, it will be a sad tank.
There is also one thing – you may want to ask Tanitha – they do the same way as Pz4S, remove vader turret from panther. Disgusting, but it happened, there is a precedence…
This seems inferior to the FCM 50t in every way. Maybe RoF, but they can hardly make it better than Panther II’s.

Isnt this just the old panther at tier 8, way back from 2010? WG doesnt even need to create a new model. Needless to say, a medium with an L71 has a very potent weapon.
I wonder how it will compare with the Panther II. Probably less rof, or mobility, armor? Or a combination of those?
And if it compares pretty good, doesnt that diminish its chances of getting special matchmaking?

So basically Panther as it was 3 years ago?
After seeing with the Chi-Ri, what fun an autoloading 7,5/L70 on a decent platform could have been I am disappointed that we “only” get a Panther with the long 8,8cm.
And then I fail to really see the “need” for it. Ok, it might be a more mobile sniping platform, than the Panther II, but then WG could have decided on an armored TD with the 8,8…
what I’m really liking is that this is named the “Panther Ausf F”.
The panther F was the prototype with the schmalturm. Hopefully that means that the tier 7 panther will no longer be the Ausf F, and maybe the stock turret will be the classic panther turret, and the elite turret be the current stock, with the mantlet chin.
I hated how the ugly prototype turret was the one you were forced to use if you wanted to be competitive.
