Hello everyone,
quick news – it’s been confirmed by the “Insider” that we have a new competition incoming, tied to the movie “Fury” – there will be a “Fury” Sherman in the game (I assume as a part of some special mode á la “White Tiger”, perhaps this is the “special mode coming soon” Inaki mentioned yesterday?) and you will have to do… well, that is not yet known. But there will be a competition.
Anyway, more changes coming to the competitions – this internal WG mail is roughly week and something old:
A recent policy changed is to be disclosed in future competitions (if applicable). Prizes go to the tank commanders who deal out the highest amount of damage in a single battle during the competition period for XBOX. For PC clients, Base XP will count instead. To ensure fairness, two new requirements will be in place for competitions.
• Only battles that a tier XYZ would normally be in will be counted. Players are welcome to platoon with friends, but if they pull COMPETITOR into a higher-tiered match, that the COMPETITOR would naturally NOT have access to, that battle will not count as a valid entry.
• For XBOX: Only full battles will be counted. This will alleviate any issues with players getting into small matches with only their friends, and potentially manipulating the outcome.
For PC: Enemy platoons will be checked, whereas are from the same clan or perform abnormal behaviour that would manipulate the outcome
As with other competitions, COMPETITOR only needs to play the game! All of the battles and stats will be tracked on our end. For XBOX: A leaderboard will be available on the forums and in the launch daily. Chicago Servers will handle it.
No more trollplatoons in competitions :)

All games have RNG. Even DOTA 2 and LoL and STARCRAFT 2 and CS.

Penetration +/- 25% which appears to have the most influence on your shots, first shot 150 penetration, second shot 250 penetration, that’s sick, bullets should have it equal in every shot.
What the hell, is this discussion about ? In reality you get more random results than with WoT RNG . In fact, in real life sports you don’t get precise results either, be athletics or any given team based sports and yet they are considered COMPETETIVE. Games are not designed to be a competition for mathematicians and you simply blame RNG for your lack of skill. If you died or lost because of RNG that means your plan was wrong in the first place because you didn’t accounted for one of basic game mechanics which is RNG. It’s there weather you like it or not. There are tons of players with decent EFF despite RNG, how come they don’t see a problem and you do ?

In reality you had much greater randomness. You could try tank game for NeS, there you have razor sharp precision in damage and accuracy . Otherwise, remember whenever you play an FPS game and then comes the guy that 360 quickscopes you from 500m distance and then you rage or simply say “meh, no life”.
That’s exactly why you have RNG in the game. There are people with calculator in their head and immense eye-to-right -hand-precission, living in their parents basement and never seeing the sun rays, who will always outplay you no matter what.
That’s why you get RNG, to make the game FUN for EVERYONE.

Accuracy is dependant on the weather, air temperature and wind, it’s complex to realisticaly represent this in the game.
Damage… well just like on WT it would be realistic but that’s completely different approach. One hitting tanks it too FPS for me yet shells doing alwyas same amount of damage is then again… human calculator no lifes would have an edge over most of us.
Penetration, eveything can happen, you’d have to calculate shell quality which is often random in reality too, when the shell impacts the armor , EVERYTHING can happen, the RNG here is pretty realistic because you can only predict to some degree of what might happen with the shell, anyone who’s in to tanks will tell you that.
You peasants still don’t get that Gaussian distribussion for accuracy and pen is there to simulate shell quality (which varied more then 25%…)
Whilst damage rolls are there to make it easier to balance and more.interesting….

Tank Aces in reality were killed by rookies too. Professionals in sports are sometimes defeated by inexpearianced as well. Just because you think you got the skill doesn’t mean you are untouchable for someone with no skill at all, he was just in the right place at the right time to land a killing blow… The question is, why you weren’t ? After all you consider yourself to be skilled…

I had a game with a D10T gun. which has 250 avg dmg. I fire 5 penetrating shots (no kill shots, so “full” damage) Total damage done? 969, which works out to 193.8 dmg per shot, or 77.5% of 250 each. Five shots averaged out to be that way. FIVE. You think that was easy to deal with? Enemies popped out with 220hp and i blast them for 200. Im not saying that RNG should be removed, but i feel that the range shld be reduced to 10-15%. After all, its hard to calculate if you shld go for the kill for an enemy with health around your avg dmg that way….
WoT is not intended to be realistic, so that argument is invalid.
It is not intended to be a gamey game for hardcore players either, its meant for everyone.

LoL does NOT have RNG. Nearly everything is set, the amount of AD you get is set, and only reduced according to the enemies armour value, which is also set. Only thing that is up to chance is crit chance with basic attacks. That is not very important as only one role in the game (marksman) really depend on that. Otherwise its the same…. despite that, the game is still able to be entertaining and diverse….
RNG isnt necessary for that game.

Being one tank down at the start of the game does not doom you to anything. Plenty of teams will lose a player right at the start of a game anyway and still go on to win.

I’m just a green but I’ve managed to get 2571 exp while playing solo. I’m not saying it’s the highest EVAR (far from it), but it comes to show that I managed to get that while I was still probably an orange.
EXP and damage can very well be luck.

Try play on light tanks like chaffe , leo level 5 . If you manage to make some 2.5k -3.5k , spot some enemies you can get A lot of XP . Or try some mid level OP tanks like K-1C , hellcat . If you have skill you can try get high XP with tanks in level 7 like Tiger , T29, is-2 on full gold , chi-ri , t71 and level 8 like amx 50 100 , indie panzer , ( t69 on full gold , or amx 13/90 on full gold – but this choise is more for retards :P )
Why it should be 3x bonus lol. Stats in the profile shows top XP, where the x2, x3 and x5 are not counted in. I have top over 3k XP, which is still far away from total top. If you take a look on WG’s leaderboards, top is 6219 xp from a single battle.
Profile shows 1.5 multiplier from premium account.

i assumed these were already rules but considering that these things were not rules before that has now explained to me how some one got either a 2400 base xp game or an 1800 base xp game in an su85b in one of the razars edge (i think thats what the contests were called) contests ages ago.
the max i could get was 2500 damage in a tier 6 games with a total of 4 tier 6 kill and i just got 1200xp for that.
Not impossible.
I got 2489 base exp in a 8.8 Jgtiger with 9832 dmg, 6 kills, 1574 assist dmg and 51 cap points (we did not win by cap).
So if you do a lot of dmg and/or spotting you will get a lot of exp. If you are way behind the lines you get less exp than if you are in the frontlines.
For 2k+ base XP (3k+ premium) with SU-85B, i needed 3,2k dmg + some spotting in a tier 6 game. That included 8 or 9 tomato kills.
So it’s perfectly doable on randoms, considering there are games with around 4k damage last time i checked wotreplays.
