9.3 Test 2 Patchnotes

Hello everyone,

it has been confirmed by Erissa (WG EU rep) that test 2 of patch 9.3 should start today around 18:00 CEST. The list of changes (courtesy of Tanitha, ASIA server):

Changes in version 0.9.3 CT-2 vs. version 0.9.3 CT-1:

- Warnings and penalties for intentional self-destruction turned off. Some cases, in which the penalty should not be applied, must be reviewed.
- Bonus experience for damage blocked by armor temporarily turned off until all the issues are fixed.
- New functionality of the Strongholds mode, except Chancellery and legionaries, turned off.
- Many issues with the interface and gameplay in the Strongholds mode fixed.

- Separation of the engine and transmission, which was missing during the first test, added for the following vehicles: Е75, Panther II, Löwe, Jagdtiger.
- Issues with visual models fixed for the following vehicles: M18 Hellcat, T-34-85М, KV-1S, ISU-152, Spähpanzer Ru 251, T49, LTTB, Т-34, M41 Walker Bulldog, M24 Chaffee, IS-7, Jagdpanther.
- Camouflage scale fixed for the following new vehicles: M41 Walker Bulldog, T49.
- Top speed for the Т-54 lightweight increased by 10 km/h.
- View range for turrets of the T67 tank destroyer adjusted.
- Weight limit for the suspension of the KV-85 increased.

- Issues with the player’s vehicle falling through the model of abbey on the Abbey and Province maps fixed.
- Issues with landscape on the Ruinberg map fixed.
- Issue with the armored personnel carrier disappearing on various distances on the Kharkov map fixed.
- Incorrect display of the effects of shells hitting the ground fixed.
- Incorrect display of allied vehicles’ icons on long distances fixed.
- Some crashes and hang-ups of the game client fixed.
- List of explosive objects expanded.
- Performance of effects of explosive objects optimized.
- Stuttering when displaying some effects fixed.
- Incorrect calculation of record value for the “maximum destroyed per battle” parameter fixed.
- Receiving of the Spotter award upon defeat fixed.
- Free Experience conversion functionality fixed.
- Display of effects of ammo rack exploding when a vehicle is destroyed by ramming fixed.
- In battle results, statistics for penetrations after ricochets added.
- Display of the fifth skill for crew members in the Garage fixed.
- Discrepancy between the visual and collision models for some objects fixed.
- Flickering of client reticle when the vehicle is on an inclined surface fixed.
- Some minor issues with interface fixed.

      • Yea i was thinking they will nerf the 10rounds autoloader for M41. Guess it will stay as it is for a few patches. I bet alot of people will buy their way to get it.

        • i dont see problem with it, that autoloader has “only” 1500 burst dmg (compared to 1440 on AMX 13 90), and it takes 18s to unload all 10 shots (on 13 90, it is only 14s), most tanks can shoot you 3 times during that… i think nonautoloader gun is much better, it reloads only something over 3s (3,3 or so), and does not have need to reload for half a minute, giving it much more flexibility…. correct me if i am wrong ;-)

          • Reached the same conclusion. The autoloader just isn’t worth it, if you should bounce a couple of shells, then it’s suddenly a useless waste of time having to use 30 seconds to reload. No thanks. I met a JagdPzE-100 and had to reload 3 times because of silly bounces on the side of his upper hull. Could’ve killed him outright in 40 seconds, but no :/
            Get into a fantastic flanking position? Fire 10 shells and be worthless for 30 seconds.

          • Tested the Bulldog vs the 13/90 on MINES. The 13/90 was only able to get off two shots B4 it was toast. I’m thinking they will eventually drop it to a 8 round mag. It is too op at its tier for now

          • On the other hand dispersion on the 13 90 is so bad that unless if you’re shooting a target at several meters away you will always miss.

            They need to buff the 13 75 sometime too, the T71 being in game was already its death knell, but now what about it compared to the Walker Bulldog? It is not even a fair competition it is so in favor of the Bulldog.

        • I still think it’s funny that people think the autoloader is OP when it’s so much better with the elited gun without the autoloader.

    Good move WG. Learn from past mistakes and get it right before introducing new mechanisms on the live server.

    • i thkn the devs are as scared of EURU whiners as they are scared of SerB. remember that post before abt SerB relly hating the whiners whining abt arty nerf? i hate arty nerf too. now all the noobs dont know how to take cover.

    • I thought that was already decided…Reduction of each threshold down by 7% (65% down to 58%, 85% down to 78%, and 95% down to 88%). I’m glad its coming as I’ve had a moderately hard time getting to the new level for the second MOE. I hit 78.5% last night and I might just hold off playing my Ferdi until the patch hits…so I can get it and not worry about a slight drop. The third one will still be hard as hell to reach…haven’t seen a single tank with three. I’ve only seen a handful with two…

      This achievement has serious flaws anyway, but I’m glad they’re reducing the requirement given than the comparison of your 100 battle performance in a specific vehicle to the top 5%/15%/35% of all battles for that vehicle is just nuts…

      • They hadn’t been changed in the first round of the test and since they haven’t been mentioned in these changes I’m just wondering what the deal is.

        • Ah…I don’t think there’s much to “test” for something that requires a change in a value for an award threshold. However, this is WG…stranger things have happened!

    How “adjusted”? The turrets were switched, their view range too (top is still worse in view). It means that the top turret will be BETTER in view range?

  7. I don’t quite get the issue with T-54 LT, even the un-buffed version. Yeah, it might not have the extraordinary speed/maneuverability/armament (pick one) of other tier VIII LTs, but it still has enough maneuverability and HP to circle TDs, HTs and even some sluggish MTs. It has one underrated advantage too : turret armor. While not as impressive as on its MT counterpart, 160mm sloped stalinium still allows to bounce most shots, if you need to hulldown for survival in the case your retreat path got blocked. Even against the CT’s shower of gold rounds, I managed to survive most tedious situations by doing exactly this. Just picture yourself the northern hillside on Prokhorovka ! 10 extra km/h will only help him fare better IMHO. And people blaming 1D10T as inadequate should maybe just stop aiming for the front armor. :)
    LTTB is still my favourite though.

    • Probably because most people judge the tank on how well it performs as alight fighting mostly t10s… Wich even than i find it as good as the rest.

      But played in a t8 max game? (strongholds or tb) this thing will be beast.

    Nice,already a very good tank,10km/h to top sped is a very nice buff.

    I think they are trying to force this tank in to the “dedicated scout” role when it’s obvious that this tank is a far better medium than the T-44.

        • Yes,but for that burst damage it suffers too much in my opinion.Bad aiming time,not good acc.,terrible at firing on the move,not good gun depression,terrible gun elevation,sometimes to few ammo rounds.sub-par terrain resistance,sub-par traverse speed,etc…

          And look at the new Walker Bulldog,I don’t actually havet he stats but iirc compared to 13 75 it has better burst dmg,better mobility,better gun handling,better depression/elevation and so on,pretty much better in every single aspect.
          This is why I feel like the french line is UP.
          As for the Chinese tier 8,it still has good DPM (2275,better than T-54LT and comparable to Spypanzer iirc),very good firing on the move capabilities,good aiming time,good acc,good mobility(a little bit below average specific power but with way above average terrain resistance),so I don’t feel like this tank is getting out classed.

      • I doubt it. The 13 90 still has an autoloader for awesome burst damage. That’s something that sets it apart from the new tanks. The WZ 132 on the other hand… that’s a tank vulnerable to powercreep from the T-54 light and RU 251.

        • You’d be surprised what my WZ 131 turret has bounced…. with 45mm armour. And Wz 132′s only competitor is the T-54 lightweight. The 132 has better camo, a gun with less damage but much better ROF. Accelerates faster, turns faster, and is all around better.

          The bulldog is the only true OP tank here.

          Ru251 is just too different from WZ 132 to make it a competitor.

          But I still stand by my thought that 132 has the best overall mobility out of the tier 8 lights. and one of the best camo ratings.

          This decision of mine includes losing speed after turning, mobility on bad ground, turning speed, and more. 132 still has a role.

      • Yes,I am,bc they both lead to T-54.So,you’ll have to chose which way you want to go.
        And the T-54LT has all the advantages,including the MM.Since you are a light tank,if you get hit or if you try to penetrate tanks from the front you are doing it wrong.It’s gun is more than capable of penetrating most tank’s sides and rears.
        Getting in tier 9-10 battles with a tier 8 LT means one thing: more XP.
        So,yeah,unless you don’t like light tanks,I see no reason to pick the T-44 line.

        • Who goes T-44 any more? Obj 416 with its 320 alpha damage and 6.2 second reload, high speed and low profile is a MUCH better tier 8 MT choice, and goes to the T-54.

          • I want to like 416, but avoiding it due to 3 deg depression and limited traverse paper turret is pretty acceptable IMO. Camo is pretty worthless unless you are scouting or sniping, and the gun isn’t quite good enough to snipe (which is compounded by the bad depression making using some bushes impossible).

            And yes, I’m sure there are players that excel in it, but it’s very much an acquired taste.

            • the top turret can be bouncy, stock is attrocious… the gun depression is poor, but so are alot of russian and chinese mediums… working with terrain and knowing where you can go to keep that gun aimed, also learning how to angle the tank to point the gun where you need is a must. It isnt an absolutely easy tank, but with the way games go these days its a tank thats easy to play, but hard to master. Any noob can jump in it, bomb around and do 1000 damage (three or four shots) without even trying. Which cant be said of the T-44

  9. These failures from WG really know how to hit a nerve! Penalty for suicide? Are you f-ing kidding me? Fix your fail MM and stop rigging the battles and there won’t be any suicides! If you put me on reta*ded team and nerf my abilities for that battle, hell yeah, I’m gonna suicide! There is no way in hell I’m gonna let someone score on me just because I’m forced to lose that battle!!

    • And you are the reason for which WG has to implement suicide penalties in the first place….

    • how about seeing every match as your own performance…. what would you prefer, A defeat where you farm damage from those “r*tards” and end with 2 – 4k damage a few kills and 600xp…. or a defeat where you get 0 damage, 0 kills 100 xp and 0 WN7/WN8/EFF…. suiciding does ONE think, it ruins your OWN stats, more than bad MM and bad teams

      • Actually I do see every match as my own performance, that’s why I don’t waste my time on fail teams and simply go and drown my crew and exit the battle because not becoming easy kill that comes with 4-5 tanks raping me means to me more than any statistic! No one is raping me!

    • If you cant see it you cant aim… if it disapear how aim a target that it as cover??? is a problem specially at long range.

  10. HOLY SHIT as if the E-75 wasn’t OP enough for tier. Jesus you’d think they’d nerf the mobility properly to compensate (down to KV-4 level). Admittedly by the numbers ST-I is even more OP, but still…

  11. Has anyone made note of the IS-7′s research path since the change? You either have to research a T5 tank twice (KV-1 –> KV-1S), or a T7 twice (KV-13 –> IS). Don’t you think this is a bit… unfair? It is the only tank line now not to have an option of a linear research path.

    • It’s unfair when you compare it to the other nations, since when you want to switch to the german WT line you have to start from the Marder 38T again :)

      Or the french… they have ONE switching possibility to the arty-tree…

      Yeah… totally unfair… :(

    • And they won’t. Because now they can whore out the semi-smoothbore’s HEAT round for anyone that wants the T49 to actually be an effective damage dealer.

  13. I have a Question, in the patch notes it clearly states that the percentage values for the marks excellence would be lowered, and yet they are still the same on the test server.

    Can someone explain please

    It sounds like e won’t be defending and attacking strongholds this next patch though…

  15. I don’t know if it’s only for me but could it be that the guns of the HD tanks on the test server aren’t rendered in HD any more? Or is it just because of the test server?
