BT-SV Available on ASIA

Hello everyone,

currently, BT-SV (lowtier Soviet light tank, previously exclusive to Soviet edition of the Russian WoT gift package, obtainable only in Russia or via Belarusian/Ukrainian/Russian e-shops) is available on ASIA server. The prices for this rare vehicle are VERY steep, randing from 96 USD to 120 USD. Damn, 120 bucks for a lowtier vehicle, that’s a lot of money.

Hm. Remember how last year, the KV-220 “exclusive” was available in such large packages too, only to return several months later for much lower price? I think this is exactly what will happen here (Wargaming needs to milk every single drop from every such release), so I would definitely not buy it.

The tank itself I had the opportunity to test (using press account) and it’s utter crap – it has a bad gun and turns slow. For its tier, it has somewhat decent armor, but it’s nothing like the OP death machine that is the Panzer II Ausf.J. It’s underpowered and if you expect to pwn with it, you’ll be disappointed.

I would stay away from those bundles, if I were you.

don’t forget, it was a free mission reward too!

    • As someone who completed that mission I would say it was anything but “free”; it was the most horrendous grind I’ve ever done in this game.

      • yea, both those missions were ridiculous and i skipped them both. Neither tank was worth that, but for a type 59 i would have done both at the same time, LOL.

  2. Well, price for the vehicle isn’t that steep. Asia shop has listed 360 days premium at 99.99 USD, the bundle with BT-SV, garage slot and 360 days premium is 95.95. The big bold bundle… 25k gold cost 99.95 in their shop, so the value gold per dollar is about the same. Sure, it’s some extra incentive to buy one of the big gold or premium bundles, but the tank itself comes basically at a free bonus on top

  3. I wonder how “exclusive” Fury will be…

And BT-SV is not that bad, it’s a normal fun tank the way LTP is. Not worth the price, definitely, but if it was in normal price range…

    • there giving it away for free if u buy a yr long premium acct which i do anyway.

    • Fury? Exclusive? Pfft.
It’s a more REALISTIC M4A3E8 (Armor is is for real, I do believe SS put up a post about that.). And the gun is the same. Yes, it IS terrible but I got Top Gun on the 3rd game so I really can’t complain lol, it’s definetly a scavenger tank, kill-stealing little bas****. lol

  4. It’s pretty good, actually. The best thing of the tank is not it’s armour, but speed. Best P/W ratio of all tanks.

    • i agree, why the fuck would the author say the pz2j is a good tank? most tanks r good if u spam premium and u regularly lose 25k a game in this shit tank. i would buy the btsv over the pz2j anyday at any price. SS always seems to make an ass of himself when he gives opinions rather than doing his job and just reporting and then let his readers argue and decide like his opinions on maps and corridors which are assinine.

      • besides, the btsv is free with a yr of premium which i buy anyway just like the fury was free for me because i was going to buy 100 worth of gold anyway.

i would pay 500 bucks for a package of rare tanks like the type, btsv, the M6 i think its called and a couple more. i would like to play all the tanks in the game. i have currently played around 190.

  5. BT-SV has the ultimate look!

So sad it is not sold like the other Tier3 premmies..And that it’s not amphibious like in real life :3

    • Mastery badges on a tank this rare means little I’m afraid mate, not enough games played to provide a real reference. I own a BT-SV myself but will be the first to admit the mastery badges are shiny plastic rather than real gold…
It’s a nice little tank but with glaring flaws, fine if you know what they are and how to minimise them. What the BT-SV is is good fun and a distraction to the red team, all desperate to kill the rare tank.

    KV-220 prices:
    2013 nov. 20. 50 €
    2014 apr. 10. 35 €
    2014 aug. 15. 30 €

So if anyone want the BT-SV, just wait.

  7. I saw a guy in game a couple of nights ago that was driving a 50B. XVM was reporting 1k battles and a 71% win rate. So, being the curious type, after he mopped the floor with me (and basically everyone else on my team), I looked at his profile. He has two tanks, the 50B, which he had around 500 games in, and a BT-SV, which he had around 800 games in.

I’ll give him this, playing a BT-SV 800 times to generate free XP to go to tier 10 is a creative way to reroll.

  8. BT-SV….Never played it.
But I’ve played the BT-7 and have seen my share of BT-SVs and watched the videos. It’s neither good nor bad. It really does depend on the player. It’s like the new T-50. I get top gun or 3-4 kills nearly every tier 4 game. Others say it sucks and do terrible in it.
It’s true that the turning sucks and the gun is the same as the T-127 (It’s got 51 pen, and that’s what APCR is for…). But it really all falls into the hands of the player to do good in it.
I do hope you’ve read this and understand, SS
    :3

  9. Think again scrub, if you dont do good in a BT-SV your obviously not playing right. Sealclubbing isnt just “pwning noobs just cuz yolo” there is still tactics to it. There are fail sealclubbers, then we have the real ones. Why do you think people payed 200+ Dollars when it WAS available on NA/EU with codes? There are very little left and if people want one these days its like 500+ dollars lol. Out of the many games i’ve played in a platoon of 2 or 3 BT-SV’s i have not lost many.
