      • No it wouldn’t. Only the mantlet is protected, the angled cheeks get penetrated by any gun and you wouldn’t want to be hit by a 105mm hwtz shot.

      • Fun fact of the day: You can’t angle spaced armor. 70mm thick spaced armor mantlet will always act like 70mm no matter the angle. Only the armor beneath counts angle (like frontal turret etc)

        • That is not true. You cannot angle the gun armour (20 mm for the 76 mm guns on the Achilles), but you can angle the spaced armour (gun mantlet, side skirts, and so on).

        • Nope, you are confusing it with the tracks, they do act as spaced armour, but don’t take into account any angles. Normal spaced armour like sideskirts and mantlets can be angled, just try shooting an E100′s skirts and you will see you can bounce off of them.

          • With that logic that would mean that you could not ricochet a shell off of the spaced armor as it would not take into effect any angle applied to the armor, but I’ve made a shot today that ricocheted off some spaced armor and bounced into the top plate of a Super P.

    • You kidding! GRANT =/= LEE, look at that amour! The weakspot on the Lee is the strongest amour on the grant! 76mm! Thats enough to bounce almost any non TD at tier 4! Anything less than a 75mm or 57mm zis 4 will never pen it there! This will be a good tank IMO.
Quit moaning, this will not be like the Lee!

      • Honestly, cresting a hill in the grant will still be suicide. Tumour turret might be 76mm, but it’s not sloped nearly well enough.
For comparison, the AT-2 cupola is 101mm, but it’s rounded very well. Best thing to impenetrable to Zis 4 AP.

Achilles turret looks pretty good if you can stay hull down, but doesn’t it have pretty bad depression?

Archer… It’s so strange. The gun looks far too tiny to justify rear mounting to the point that the reverse speed is higher. Then again, it’d obviously be too large in the tiny front mounted valentine turret. Well, at least my experience in the Su-101 will stand me in good stead until I grind past it.

As to the conway– looks like it could troll tier VIIs and maybe some 8s.
Does that 139.7mm plate continue behind the gun mantlet?

        • Yea, but the Grant with tumor + armor and a 6pdr is kinda standible and you can use it as a TD because THIS IS A TD LINE.

        • Achilles has -5 depression last I heard, so…yea. That should be a fun adventure and not frustrating in the slightest…

I don’t think that’s the final 17pdr shown on the Archer; probably an earlier version that it gets stock. If you look at pictures of the real thing, the 17pdr *is* long enough to justify putting it backwards on something tiny like the Valentine. Engine placement is convenient for anchoring against the recoil, too.

        • At tier 4, 76mm amour is very though. Have you heard of the matilda? It hss 75mm amour, and it has a very small list of tanks that can hurt it. At least 80% of tier 4s need apcr to pen 76mm of amour, with no angle on it, and about 30% dont even have enouh pen with apcr. This has 76mm, a bit of slope, and alot of the time your shooting up at it. Go check out the wiki, and look at the guns at tier 4. Once you know what your talking about, then think again about this “weakspot”.
