World of Warships – Weekend Beta For Everyone

Hello everyone,

World of Warships developers decided to allow wider playerbase to play World of Warships for a weekend. This event is apparently shared by all servers (RU, EU, USA), but you have to win an invite code somewhere.

 

 

You can read the whole news here (there are some limits). Certain community contributors recieved a bunch of codes as well, so you can find that stuff on the forums.

You might have noticed from my tone I am not exactly hyped about that entire thing, but if you wanted to be an alpha tester and didn’t get in, now’s your chance. Yay.

    • Once you’re in, you get access to the game this weekend, a future beta weekend and the eventual closed beta (which I assume will last a bit longer).

      • Its got conflicting info on the website it says you also join the alpha tester group (you get alpha rewards, access to the alpha and such) but it also says you will only be able to play for the weekend so wargaming once again decide to mind fuck us. :)

        • They clarified it in the forum.

          You won’t join us alpha testers, you will be able to play again in similar weekend events and in closed beta.

          Some people that requested access to alpha but were not accepted yet received an invite to the weekend events. Once those are finished, they will join alpha test too.

  8. The absolute and only reason im interested in this game is because in curious to see if they will give unified stuff (premium, gold) for playing. Like what they did with WoWP when they initiated that token stuff which could be converted for aprox 6months worth of premium time event.

    • The problem is that for planes they already knew it sucked so they tried to get people to play it by giving rewards that could be used on the tank game.

      The general impression I get from ships is that it will do alright on it’s own so they probably won’t give gold left and right (all their recent policies tend to be more stingy)

      Time will tell I guess.

  14. Well, I got my invite code, Thanks WG cannot wait to play after seeing the gameplay video yesterday.

    • I can confirm this is legit. They have just released another batch of codes. Me and my 2 friends got in with the 2nd, 3rd and 4th code from that.

    • I’ll copy the text I got from the confirmation Email:
      “On December 13 and 14, you will have plenty of time to play World of Warships and upgrade any ships. After that, access will be temporarily closed. However, you will be automatically accepted to the next Beta Weekend and the World of Warships Closed Beta.”

  20. I’d download it to test it for the weekend, especially if there is a guarantee of being in the subsequent weekends. Awesome. I tested a boatload of games, most mmorpgs but every one of those was only a weekend at a time at first. SWTOR, ESO, etc. It’s the nature of the beast. They overload the servers with testers for the weekend, then they take all the data and feedback, make tweaks, rinse and repeat.

    I’ve signed up. I wish I had a code to guarantee an in because I’ve been waiting for this game to come out since WoWP, but here’s hoping.

  24. I don’t have Steam and know nothing about it, required on the PCgames site to get a code. I got out of bed so excited , I guess no code for me :(

        • I tried my code from IGN late last night, it went right through. Downloaded the client last night.
          Looking forward to a good and interesting weekend.
          When I activated it also said I was now included in the the upcoming beta sessions.

  29. Applied at 14 o’clock without invite code or anything else, got confirmation including client DL link etc at 17 o’clock. Installer needs to download 4218 MB, speed was ok with 10 megs per sec. Can’t wait for the weekend to come :D
