Check out Listy’s article on British demolition tank!

- platoon requirement will not be removed from individual missions
- lowtier tanks will have the transmission split from the engine (as the hightiers did) as well
- developers are not considering implementing the option to buy premium account for X amount of battles (SS: as in, buying premium account for exactly 100 battles and such)
- developers are not considering adding the option to “freeze” your premium account (when you are not playing) either
- next year will bring several “fun” events (like Karl, football and races), one will come “very soon” (SS: the “8bit” one with three tanks leaked earlier)
- developers are considering adding bonuses for getting the barrel rings/stars for average damage, for example for one star, you get +2 percent to XP bonus, for two stars it’s +5 percent and for three it’s +10 percent to XP. This is however only an example – no guarantees it will be exactly so, but yes, the mechanism will be developed further
- developers are working on a special “light” client for bad computers, resembling something like the “WoT Tweaker” application, Evilly confirms that yes, there will a special “reduced” client for weak computers
- apparently, when the “infected replays” issue was posted on RU server, it was still possible to upload infected replays to wotreplays.eu (specifically, the EU server). Evilly will investigate whether it was fixed.

  1. developers are not considering implementing the option to buy premium account for X amount of battles (SS: as in, buying premium account for exactly 100 battles and such)

    - people really ask such things???

    • i think nothing is wrong with it… enough games have xp or credit bonusses for a secified amount of matches so why not at WoT?
it would be great for players who dont play too much

    • Think of it like your mobile phone. Mobiles only really took off when Pay as you go came into existence.
Equally I don’t use premium because I’d only be getting time for a few games a week.

      • I rather have the problem that I feel like I “have to” play because I’d otherwise “waste” my money that you pay for premium

      • That’s a fair point, Listy. It’s entirely possible that if premium accounts were based on battle counts, it’d take off. OTOH, for those of us who play a lot, I’m not so sure that I want my premium account tied to # of battles. Probably end up costing me a lot more.

        • It would be nice if they would have both.

Players not playing so much and because of that not paying for premium could be a new source of income. WG should consider that; they haven’t missed an opportunity to make more money yet (just look at the new nearly impossible WZ-111 missions which one can skip (and everyone without a life outside of WoT has to skip) for money)

I think about 10 Euro for 150 battles would be fair*.

And they could start events in which you win like five premium battles instead of one day of premium. “No more free days of premium for all the cheap bastards out there!” – possible WG quote

*) in terms of the current price structure

        • The stupid question is about whether they’ll impliment +/- 1 MM. They have said, continuously, for years, that they will NOT impliment this, yet morons still ask.

      • You are the stupid one if you think it’s a stupid question. It’s a valid question, not everyone can buy premium time for x amount of days/months, because they actually have other commitments.

      • wouldnt say stupid it might be better actually
for instance in WT you cant buy a high tier prem plane unless you have unlocked the tier with normal planes
if that was implemented in WoT well let’s say that i might be better if you have to actually get a normal tier 8 and then be able to buy a prem tier 8 then things would be better and players with prem tanks wont be so useless Sometimes!

    • They still keep on fucking asking if platoon requirement will be removed from im’s, I wonder how aren’t they got bored by themselves yet…

    • Other games like WoT do it. League of Legends does it, for instance, offering IP and XP boosts that are active either for a certain amount of time or for a certain number of victorious battles (think of it as the “premium” having charges, and every win gives you the premium boost but consumes one charge). But noep, this is WG, so gottagreedfast and sell people premium that, if it gets wasted, all the better because clearly people will then buy more premium.

Or so the thinking goes. I don’t like to feel like I’m wasting money I’ve spent on premium time when I’m not playing, so I just avoid buying it entirely – and I don’t think I’m the only one.

    • Not a stupid question/idea at all.

They’d just have to make it a good value for a few games/day only.

This way they can sell this type of premium account to people who’d otherwise never bother to buy one. While also keeping everyone who plays more than x games per day with the regular account.

  2. - platoon requirement will not be removed from individual missions

Thanks. I cannot finish any mission then.

    - developers are considering adding bonuses for getting the barrel rings/stars for average damage, for example for one star, you get +2 percent to XP bonus, for two stars it’s +5 percent and for three it’s +10 percent to XP. This is however only an example – no guarantees it will be exactly so, but yes, the mechanism will be developed further.

    Interesting.

    • so you nevee play platoon? isnt it boring just to play all alone?

you might try to get a friend playing or just join a clan ;-)

      • I prefer playing alone. Not everyone is wired the same, and some prefer to play alone over platooning. I honestly find platooning stressful, because I feel like I have to play up to the other players’ standards or do things I wouldn’t normally do that are outside my comfort zone, play style-wise. When I play solo, I don’t have to worry about any of that and can concentrate on playing my game, not theirs.

      • Actually competent ones? With whom you can actually make your schedules work? And who will have the right tanks? And who will be willing to put up with the bullshit RNG nature of the missions, which require the stars to align even for a very good player, for an extented perior of time, only so that YOU would get to complete your mission (which will probably not line up with theirs)?

Take it all together and it’s exceedingly difficult.

        • It’s not as if you’ll have to do all of the missions in a platoon, calm your tits mate.

          • If you look carefully, you might notice the question was “how can it be”, and my answer was not, in fact, “you have to get in a platoon for all of the mission”. If I wanted to insult you now, I wouldn’t even have to bother – with this sort of talk you’re insulting yourself.

        • Not if you have the mystical relationship with another known as “friend”. Having a few friends (being a normal sociable person) makes all those tasks pretty easy…

Although their competence in game might not be as high standard as yours.

    • developers are considering adding bonuses for getting the barrel rings/stars for average damage, for example for one star, you get +2 percent to XP bonus, for two stars it’s +5 percent and for three it’s +10 percent to XP.

This is too good to be true, i think they will scrap it :)

  3. how hard is it to get the t-55? i have excellent WN8 accoording to noobmeter, is it life threateningly hard?

  4. - developers are not considering adding the option to “freeze” your premium account (when you are not playing) either

That would be sweet though :/

    • if WG allow that, people would buy 1 day premium, play 2 hours then “freeze”. next day repeat and they could play 12 days in premium account. So, big no from WG.

      • Riiiiight, because it’s impossible to say “you can freeze and unfreeze only once in 3 months”

    • Even though it would be sweet for us…

WG is after all, still about business. Like almost every company out there.

      • I know it’s all about business, and it’s not in their interest to do such things. It’s all about the $$$ :)

  5. “- platoon requirement will not be removed from individual missions”

It is possible to not finish one class branch of IMs and still get the reward. It’s great, for example, some players don’t play arty because:
    - their results are worse than their average when doing this
    - they don’t enjoy the differences in gameplay compared to normal play
    - they lack the means to play it (here: no SPGs in garage)

What is annoying me to no end is the fact that all those reasons also apply to PLATOONS:
    - when playing other online games with friends it’s easy to get incredibly distracted and hard to focus properly on the game. In WoT, this would be especially devastating.
    - not everyone likes having a “buddy” in a match or waiting for the other when one of you die early. Also, not interacting in the match (playing like you were not platooned) has negative influence on the match, as most of the time you will be matched against an enemy platoon that will most probably be working together.
    - lack of friends that play WoT on an acceptable level is a problem as well. SPGs can be researched and bought, convincing friends to play and teaching them isn’t as simple.

and yet they are required for every batch of IMs.

    • The best thing I could suggest would be to join a clan, and try to find a clan mate who is also looking to grind the same mission as you, so that you can try to grind those missions together. The clan mate doesn’t have to be a real life buddy, so perhaps you won’t have the same issues.

      Just an idea.

  6. - next year will bring several “fun” events (like Karl, football and races), one will come “very soon” (SS: the “8bit” one with three tanks leaked earlier)

such events are always welcomed :)

Now that is some interesting news! What i dont get it, why only tier 5 and higher tanks can have barrel rings/stars?

    - developers are working on a special “light” client for bad computers, resembling something like the “WoT Tweaker” application, Evilly confirms that yes, there will a special “reduced” client for weak computers

Despite my PC is not made from wood, i still play with standard render to gain acceptable FPS…

    - apparently, when the “infected replays” issue was posted on RU server, it was still possible to upload infected replays to wotreplays.eu (specifically, the EU server). Evilly will investigate whether it was fixed.

Guess the same people fixed this issue as the M53/M55 armor model bug…

    • “Now that is some interesting news! What i dont get it, why only tier 5 and higher tanks can have barrel rings/stars?”

I think to not reward stronk sealclubbing (You need 100+ battles for the % to show the correct amount and most ppl dont spend 100+ battles on one tier 1 or 2)

    • Dexter, I suppose that it’s possible that a light client might be able to run at the same level you run your game, but perhaps a bit faster without all the underlying overhead of the higher end client.

I suppose the big question is how capable would such a light client be, in terms of graphics and so forth.

  7. - platoon requirement will not be removed from individual missions

I’m quite sure that WG will sooner or later offer the option to skip several missions or even entire branches (LT, Arty) within the IM requirements for gold (= “mission skipping”), just like they plan to do so with the WZ-111 event.

    I would not be surprised.

  8. - platoon requirement will not be removed from individual missions

Are those people THAT stupid or why do they ask it every day?

    • Or maybe it’s a reflection of just how despised the platoon requirement is that people refuse to let it go.

  9. - developers are working on a special “light” client for bad computers, resembling something like the “WoT Tweaker” application, Evilly confirms that yes, there will a special “reduced” client for weak computers

Great news for me this “light client”. I’ve been waiting for it from the point they implanted the 8.0

I might start playing again. I’ve been having a break from WoT mainly, because I don’t have the computer to play it. When I started playing in 7.2?!?! I can only guess, because who the fuck does seriously pay attention what patch they have when they start playing as a newb. There a lot of other important things to learn. It could be from 7.1 to 7.5 (late 2011). Then came the 8.0 and I remember the super hype about the physics, everybody jumping of cliffs and sliding down. It had massive impact on my fps and I been playing with below 20 fps every since. If I remember right I had M6 as my top tier tank when the cliff diving came so I must have had around 2-3k games. Now I’ve got 11k games and stopped playing WoT at 9.3 for getting sick of the performance of my potato.

  10. anyone still remember NA has the prem recovery system, surely they have enough data by now to introduce it to all servers?

    • Not happening on EU servers apparently, only premiums sold in the last month can be recovered iirc. Big fail for WG EU but hey whats new?

  11. Ability to freeze premium account? So players can get 90 days of prem, and make it last for a year maybe! Sweeet.

If they bothered to count the 29k+ battles I had before this came out I could care but since they don’t….oh well another thing that doesn’t matter.
