1.1.2015

Not much today of course, Russia is celebrating :)

- Q: “Why doesn’t MM put the same amount of vehicle classes to each team?” A: “It does take LT’s and arty into account. That’s completely sufficient”
- no plans to ban the Battle Assistant arty mod
- apparently there is a problem with Naydin medal conditions (WG is aware)
- for now there’s no ETA on the return of historical battles
- artillery accuracy was not touched in 0.9.5 (SS: some player was complaining that arty is too inaccurate or something)
- no plans for tier 10 premium tanks

  1. I plan to use the fuck out of battle assist until they ban it.

    Or implement it.

    • Being an user of such mod i have discovered that, while it DOES help, its not that gamebreaking as the “Unicantcover” community like to bash it, the key is moderation.

      • Meh, for me it’s usefull only when aiming at someone stationary, when shooting at someone on the move, it’s shit.

        • Its going to be wonderful seeing how wrong you are.

make no mistake, i do look forward and am interested on AW, but i REALLY doubt they’ll turn the Tank game scenario upside down like people are expecting..

          see War thunder.

          • Nope. They don’t.

I habe seen gameplay Videos already. Huuuuge disappointment.

It’s a WOT copy Paste game with modern tanks… Take WOT change tank skins and add modern maps and you habe AW.

I was waiting for that game like hell and then saw that shitty Video.

            http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8XSnPTmjw-A

            • I can’T tell if they removed the “errors”, WOT has enough but not as much as some think.

But look at the Video. For me its only a Copy paste just with CryEngine and modernized Setting…

EVERYTHIN else is the same. Interface, even the outlines when you aim at a tank… It’s just…”WHY?!”

War Thunder hasn’t invented the tank game new, but at least it looks different.

            • We’ve already seen arty in AW. Satelite view and same circle, just like WOT. Here’s your AW…

      • In its current condition, unplayable, of course. The arty nerf should have never happened. It broke the rest of the gameplay, the TDs and so on.

  2. - no plans for tier 10 premium tanks

    Somebody still actually asks that?

    - artillery accuracy was not touched in 0.9.5 (SS: some player was complaining that arty is too inaccurate or something)

    CONSPIRACY!!!11!!ONE!

    • reward tanks are sold as tier 10 premiums on the chinese server including reward tanks that are not given currently like T95E6

    • Yup, but thank god we have prohorovka where the team full of paper tanks loses, because they can’t hide from arty…

      • That aint no problem. Prok is a very good medium tank map. What have medium tanks usually not? Armor.

Same goes for unarmored agile heavies, just l2p.

    • LT ballancing is questionable too.

i like to play VK2801, and well.. it is good to be in IX game with 3LTs where 2 of them are tier VIII :D… I feel like not “lowtier” but as “ultra-lowtier” :D

As lowtier i feel challenged to be LT, let say against bulldog (who will kill be before I reload :D) or LTTB (who is laughting with slooped 90mm to my HE rounds). But against tier VIII? With all that IX MTs around? …
Thx that they at least lowered LT MM… because facing bulldog with my luchs… I can imagine that pure fun :D

  3. Q: “Why doesn’t MM put the same amount of vehicle classes to each team?”

    do people actually ask that?

Holy shit…. they actually think two tanksa re the same just because they share a type

Sure, lets balance a E-100 with a T57 heavy because those two are totally the same thing.

    • He ment puting the same amount of heavys for example in each team, not one team has 7 and the other has 3

    • Yea, I don’t see why people ask this.
Its not like you end up in a match with 4 E-100 vs 4 M48 Pattons … Oh wait, Yea that does happen…

      The question is valid…
I have been in matches where one side is all Heavy, the other side is all TD… There is little to no real balance in those matches. And why couldn’t 7 move from each side to the other to balance it out?.

      • I’ve seen those matches more than often enough, and guess what? the side that plays its role right (mediums being fast and flanky, Heavies being pushy and tanky and acting togheter) outplays the other,

Even a team full of TDs is beatable.

        • The problem arises in maps that aren’t suited for a particular class. While the occasion is rare it generally is very frustrating when you get city maps and your team has no heavy tanks, while win-able it’s a clear disadvantage especially before tier 9.

Tier 8 and 7 mediums both have lower armour than the heavies while also having generally lower dpm and are not very quick. The T-44 being the most nimble still only reaches 51 km/h which isn’t impressive and makes flanking in lopsided games a cruel joke. There is a reason it has the worst damage dealt per game out of all tier 8 tanks, the T-34-2 not faring much better both simply lacking the ability to reliably hit and penetrate the weakspots on some tanks.

In fact almost all the non-premium Tier 8 mediums tanks have a worse win-rate than the heavy tanks the exception being the object 416 which can carry tier 8 games in open maps quite reliably. Tier 9 mediums have the same matchmaking weight as the tier 9 heavies and still carrying a game in a E75 compared to carrying a game in most mediums is harder statistically. Which basically means that medium tanks in many cases are simply enferior unless they get the opportunity to use their guns which in medium versus heavy games simply tends to never happen. Some tanks with good guns can deal with it but the aforementioned mediums simply can’t which causes the tanks to worsen the team chances of winning.

There is a reason why in the 7/54 format no mediums ( other than the 416 and autoloader 69) are used. The simply are not equal to the heavies in carrying capacity. The amount of citymaps and the presence of autoloaders just increase the lopsidedness of mediums versus heavies. Both heavily armoured heavies and autoloaders have no problems dealing with mediums while mediums struggle. Exception obviously being the batchat, the easily most popular medium tank for tier 10 clanwars which is of course a versatile autoloader.

Basically the problem is that wargaming said the following ”being good gives you the right to own enemies.” But RNG unnecessarily unbalances teams by heaving the heavy/medium spread be random despite the system to balance this being present in the game. There is no good reason why a team of mediums should have to face a team of heavies if you want balanced gameplay. If I want to play ”world of heavy tanks” I’d play 7/54 more, thank you very much. ( as a tier 7 scout of course )

        • lol team with most tds usually win, just let a medium/light do scouting work and your tds will win you the game.

        • Not enough balancing gives you a fat man on a seesaw and his 4 year old child that cries because the damn’d thing doesn’t move.

    • actually the matchmaker is even stronker. matching 2 t57 and batchat vs 1 e100 and 2 tier9 tanks – yes i must confirm veri stronk matchmaker

  4. ” – artillery accuracy was not touched in 0.9.5 (SS: some player was complaining that arty is too inaccurate or something)”

Well, sinds the new patch i really asking myself The same thing if something had changed; ; so many shots misses, even when i wait till the aiming is complete….

  5. Off topic but has anyone seen the visual glitches on the new brit high tiers? If you have no camo on the tank it will take the visuals of the ground under it on the hull and turret

    • Yeah, had that in my Grant yesterday – Thought it was some funky adaptive, holofield camo or sumink.

    • Had it on my Valentine (or was the 7/1, not sure) so its not exclusive to new brit tanks, i think its a brit issue as a whole.

      • Hmm alright just have it on the new british not the old ones. looks sick though when it does happen.

    • Decent? The Fury tank in this 30 Euro bundle costs 12,07 Euro. It’s not so different from the advent offers.

      • First of all, i didn’t say it’s the single best offer in the history of mankind. Just way better than anything in “advent calendar”.

The way i see it. 4200 gold could cost ~15 Euro. And it’s the amount that can be spent even by casual player – on retraining crew or demounting ecuipment every now and then, occasionally buying camo for the favorite tank and so on. The other tier 6 premium MT – Schmallturm – costs ca. 15 Euros too. I’d wager that Fury could cost about the same. 5 additional bunks and 100% crew on the other hand are most likely not needed by most.

It all boils down to rare-ish (IIRC “Fury” initially was advertised as one-time offer that will NEVER-EVER be sold again, like WG could resist the urge to milk this cow) tank bundled with things that you might need (or not) for a price that i don’t see as outrageous. It’s not a 100 Euro bundle with sh*tload of gold when the selling point in fact is the “free” tank after all.

  6. - Q: “Why doesn’t MM put the same amount of vehicle classes to each team?” A: “It does take LT’s and arty into account. That’s completely sufficient”

Yes it is really fun to fight 15 ennemy heavies on Himmelsdorf when your team is composed of TDs.

And btw, there is not always the same number of Artilleries on each team

    • Yeah, because JT, T30, T110E3/4, Hellcat, T25/2, AT-Series and russian TDs in general, hell even Waffenträger are sooo bad on Himmelsdorf, lol. L2p.

    • That’s usually because it balances out 1 Tier VIII & 2 Tier VII on one team with 2 Tier VIII on the other

      • There were few times when balanced 6 Tier X in our team and 3 Tier X on enemy.
MM is shit. And they dont tend to fix.

        • 6 tier 10 heavies versus 3 tier 10 mediums on himmeldorf because that is totally a fun experience. Of course the rest of the team are tier 8 mediums without any tier 9 on both teams because that totally makes sense. Of course the team with the mediums get’s the wonderful stars called T-44 and T-34-2 and most scouts because you can always flank those heavies with heavy armour, right?

          Matchmaking, go home, you’re drunk.

          Serb: ”How terrible.”
          Serb: ”Don’t play medium tanks.”
Serb: “Shoot premium you crayfish. ”

”Give tier 8 mediums same DPM as tier 8 Heavies master-race. ”
          Serb: ”Learn META, noob. ”

  7. - artillery accuracy was not touched in 0.9.5 (SS: some player was complaining that arty is too inaccurate or something)

no, it’s just Artysluts are more drunk then usual, one hand clicks/clicks XVM unicum search and one hands masturbates to the tears of rage and hate.

  8. “- Q: “Why doesn’t MM put the same amount of vehicle classes to each team?” A: “It does take LT’s and arty into account. That’s completely sufficient””

12 heavies vs 2 on city maps are so much fun don’t you know

  9. Has anyone else noticed that some clans are posting peoples real world info in the WOT forums trying to harass them. Why isn’t WOT doing anything about this?

  10. Anyone else notice that the Type62 isn’t counted when it comes to MM? As in “one team has 2 T7 scouts, the other team has 2 T7 scouts and a Type62″
