Wargaming Asks You to Say What You Think of WoT

Hello everyone,

an interesting survey popped up on the US server. WG NA is asking the US server players, what do they think about Wargaming and World of Tanks. Several players will be (I assume) randomly drawn and will win a KV-5, KV-220 or E-25, so go and tell them straight what you think :)

The poll is US server only (no winnings for you, EU!), but anyone can answer really, so if you feel like sharing your opinion whereever you are, go right ahead. The questions are (my answer in brackets):

- rate current World of Tanks from 1 to 10 (4-5)
- how likely is it that you would recommend the World of Tanks forums to a friend or colleague? from 1 to 10 (0, no reason to, whatever questions a friend would have, I could answer, so why send him there?)
- how often do you visit the World of Tanks forums currently? (daily, but that comes with making FTR)
- what is the first place you visit on the forums? (general section)
- do you check the Wargaming staff posts? (WG EU? almost never, they rarely know something I don’t, WG NA – Chieftain only, WG RU – quite a lot)
- how comfortable are you posting on the forums? From 1 to 10 (3, used to be 6-7 – IMO the EU forum section degraded a lot into a lot of bickering, NA is odd lately, RU is fine)
- what concerns, if any, do you have about posting? (???)
- what can we do to improve your experience on the forums? (start banning some specific people that make the community toxic)
- is there anything else you would like to tell us? (nothing that’s not 21+)

    I think they are asking about recommending the forums, not the game itself

    EDIT: and to be fair, I think the post should start more in a way of “WG NA is asking US players what do they think about the forum section” :)

      • Did you really thought WG gave a single subatomic fuck about NA playerbase’s opinion of the game?

      • Yeah, and what exactly is 22PM? Youve probably meant 10PM :D but I doubt they have same regulations as we do.

      • SS, u would really rate the game a 4-5?

        i have issues with the game, but id rate it a 7-8.

        My main issues are:

        1. SCUMBAG ARTY, severely nerfed (30% pen nerf and 50% alpha nerf, but id buff splash damage and rate of fire so they get more hits but do substantially less damage, like in real life where arty is anti-infantry only and has no effect on tanks)
        2. all auto-loaders nerfed (auf e100 huge nerf)
        3. tds nerfed (camo esp when firing, and alpha)
        4. more maps and bigger maps

        • TD’s may as well be removed, except for stuff like the E3, Jageru, T95 etc with your logic.

        • Funny thing with posts like these, is that they reek of poor thought.

          So you nerf arty damage but buff splash.
          You know what happens? Less damage, but more critical hits overall. Adding RoF to the mix? Well enjoy 90% of your battles in which you get damaged by arty where your tank has no more gun nor gunner, because you used your repair and first aid kit to heal your ammo rack and loader.

          10/10 would let any random player balance the game

          • To make it even simpler: he wants to make every arty an FV304 and WE ALL KNOW what happened to that poor little thing…..everyone hated it because of the ROF/ACC combo, but it was ballanced with VERY short range comparing to other arties of it’s tier and higher.

            So yeah, totaly agree with: 10/10 would let any random player balance the game

        • I wish that you were just a little more verbose in your issues list. Do you want all auto-loaders nerfed or are you complaining that all auto-loaders have been nerfed. Do you want them nerfed or complaining that they’ve been nerfed. And do you want more/bigger maps or are complaining about having more/maps?

          Sometimes a little more verbosity goes a long way.

      • Is this were we “spill our guts” and then Wargaming sneaks out behind the scenes and puts fail codes on all our accounts for being too honest ???

    • I filled out the poll when it went up yesterday… it is talking specifically about the NA forums (I am an NA player)

    • I told them to stop chastising and punishing people for diagreeing with WG Moderators and to stop using the nationalist views when anyone says that Germany had better weapons and Armored vehicle and guns!!!

  2. The US forum seems to be better than the EU forum. I guess that’s because it’s easier to moderate a (mostly) english speaking comunity. And they have a better mod team.

    • I wouldn’t go that far, both mod teams are pretty awful. The exception is the Chieftain, but that shouldn’t be a priority of his in the first place.

    • LOL a better mod team? Let me tell you about these professionals. I have had one dig up OLD postings 6 months or better and after not being on the forum that long or longer I get warnings in my email out of the blue. After questioning Judge Dred on how much spare time he actually has and what his problem was I then start receiving emails with virus’s embedded in them.

  4. Well, my last thoughts about WoT is that IM’s are ridiculously hard. They were saying that eg most ppl will be able to complete the StuG one…yeah sure, 3 days of struggling to get War Gods done and now I’m at HT-15 mission…bullshit, I barely reach 6k dmg dealed+blocked+received in my VK B and they made the IM to get 8k…

    Sometimes I think that ppl who designed those missions are not even playing this game

      • Or you/they could set the bar on IM difficulty at a more reasonable level. Seriously, 8k damage given, received, or blocked seems like a really, really high standard that all but requires a tier 9 or 10 heavy, or possibly one of a small handful of tier 8 heavies that have exceptional armor.

        Also, IMO, there are some really dumb or highly RNG dependent missions. The medium tank mission that requires you to light an enemy on fire is highly RNG dependent, since you can pound shot after shot into enemy engines for many battles, but if RNG doesn’t favor you, no fire for you. Or the arty mission requiring you to hit multiple enemies with the same shot. Very luck dependent, because you have no control whatsoever over when you’ll even get an opportunity. Or the light tank missions that are all about scouting. In the past, these would have probably been more reasonable. But with maps becoming less and less scout friendly, there are fewer and fewer maps where high assisted damage totals are possible.

        Or the missions that require you to cap out. I’m not a player who’s extremely XP greedy and hates cap out wins. At the same time, cap out wins are relative uncommon and made less so because you’ll have so many players who will go out of their way to kill everything and make it even more difficult to get a cap out win.

        Oh the whole, I wish that the missions were a little better designed to try to place success more in the player’s control rather than on random luck and circumstance. (BTW, not saying that all missions are poorly designed. Many are fine, but some are not.)

        • Lol man, imagine how mad I was when I was trying to get the “hit 2 enemies with one shot” arty mission in my arty…french arty. The shots have zero splash dmg, I loaded gold rounds. Got insanely lucky because elc amx parked right next to the T34 and so I managed to hit 2 targets with one shot (elc was destroyed and T34 received smth like 30-50 dmg)

          Overall yea, they had no idea what they were doing with those missions. First they were meant to be personal and now they are not only not personal but also RNG based and badly scaled

          • Thankfully, my favorite arty is the tier 9 US 53 arty, which has a good splash radius. And thankfully, IIRC, I got my hit 2 enemies in 1 shot within 2-3 attempts, though I didn’t realize that I’d done it until the battle was over, because I wasn’t aware that my shot had hit the E100 and E75 that were fairly close to each other. But it only gets worse on later versions of this with the T28C, T55A, etc. You can control where you aim, what arty you play, using larger splash gold rounds, etc. But you cannot control when you’ll even have 2, 3, 4, etc. enemies close enough for a single round to damage. Frankly, it’s a really dumb mission.

            As for platooning, much as I dislike having to platoon to do the PM’s, usually those missions aren’t as dumb as some of the solo ones.

      I find it incredibly funny how many people stick around just to shitpost how bad WoT is, how WT/AW are better etc.

      • SS is interested more in tanks than this game. It just happens this is the tank game he hates the least, and eventually might implement his precious Czechoslovak tanks (ego++ & nationalism++). I think SS might have even changed his tune on WT:GF if they’d focused on Czechoslovak tanks and consulted him about it.

  16. I finished the survey. Too bad it was about forums, and not about the game itself. Still I gave it a 4, which stands for failure. I hope Armored Warfare will be more enjoyable than what WoT has become.

    the EU server is the 2nd biggest WG server.

    NA=50k players roughly
    EU= 200k players roughly
    RU= 1 million players roughly
