Hello everyone,
US player Meirzin recently visited the 45th Infantry Division Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and decided to share some of the pics. Some of the pictures are quite interesting here they are. If I mislabeled any of the tanks, let me know.
M44 SPG
M110A2 203mm SPG
M4A3E8 Sherman
M8 “Scott” HMC
M42 Duster
M103 Heavy Tank
M56 Scorpion
M47 Patton
M88 ARV
Two Pattons
That first one looks a lot like an M44. The M53 has 7 roadwheels iirc
Its an arty so its not worth knowing the name :)
I guess you’d like this image of the M53 then (or what’s left of it anyway) :P

Yea you might be right. I am really bad with US tanks and artillery in particular.
Still dont get it why WG implemented that crap M48 turret on M60.
M60A1 turret looks so much better (despite having dat huge “tumor” hatch) and is actually armored unlike M48 one.
After all, its like a downsized M103 turret and I didnt hear anyone complaining about it (imo, it would be perfect protection for tier X med).
And since it is set in the same timeframe as Leopard, T62 and STB (later 2 have pretty good turret protection), ie early MBT-s, I really dont see the problem with it.
Lame.
Seeing that 203mm spg, it makes me laugh about players whine about arty in-game.
Yeah :D
Denmark has had the towed version of that 203mm howitzer in service, it was phased out around 1997 or -98 because it was to slow getting in and out of position, had a to low rate of fire and to short a range compared with modern 155mm howitzers.
I saw it the last time they fired one of them with live rounds, from 50m away the sound and shockwave from firing was still bonerattleling.
Isn’t the Sherman mor likel M4A1E8 instead of M4A3E8? It has cast hull (witch AFAIK M4A1 had), instead of welded one (that of version M4A3)
No idea. I looked only at the HVSS suspension before.
This is definitely M4A1(76)W Sherman :)
HVSS gave the tank the “E8″ designation ;)
“M4″ was type of the tank
“A + number” was standartized variant (“A1″ in this case ment “cast hull, petrol engine”)
“E + number” was “official” type of modification (usually experimental or having “trial by combat”)
Exactly like Michal wrote, this would be M4A1E8, or with longer designation M4A1(76)W HVSS
Here it is more detailed: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M4_Sherman_variants
Ohh come on give us the Patton without the tumor cupola!!!
Scorpion… UE like cammo? :P
What is that skaut tenk before the M103? ;)

its a M60 Patton, because turret is different
The ARV is not an M88… I wonder what it is
OK answered my own question. 7 road wheels gave it away
It is a M51 ARV, a variant of the M103
Awesome museum. I haven’t been in about 3 years, back before I started playing WoT. I’m sure it will much more enjoyable to go visit again. I really should go soon. I only work about 10 minutes away from it. Problem is they close so early every day. I’ll have to take a day off soon I guess. Another good thing about the museum, if you play Ingress, there are a lot of portals there, and at the OKC Zoo a few blocks away.
Also, can’t wait for the M56 Scorpion premium TD to be released. My Hellcat crew needs another tank to play in.
M47 using 90 mm Gun T178 of T69?
