Hello everyone,
Mr.Raoul Hayen posted some really interesting videos on his Facebook site. It’s from the recent liberation celebrations in Holland. Some of the vehicles there are pretty impressive :) I hope the video works for you. Press the HD button for higher resolution.

They still parade working Wolverines and Shermans? Lol, neat.
Shermans including a 105mm Sherman, M10, Fire Fly, Sexton, Willis Jeep, Truck towing trailer with a Caterpillar tractor. All good stuff.
You forgot the M50 Sherman that shows up at 2:40, much historical!
I guess most of the Easy Eights got wrecked in Korea and are hard to come by :)
Dutchman here! At first there was a planned reenactment of a battle between the allied and axis forces, but this was cancelled at the last minute because the government wouldn’t allow the public use of German uniforms.
Ok… I know that what happened at the hands of the nazis but still banning the uniform 70 years later doesn’t really have any point according to me.
Not just German uniforms. ANY mention of Wehrmacht/German involvement was banned due to complaining of Jewish lobby’s/Anti-fascist/ Left-wing movements ( what a surprise… )
Tsts, those anti-fascist jews…
irony off
Oh man, those Bedford trucks. Love them, even thou they look like clown wagons.
All that was missing was a quad…..
Damn, dragging a Sherman to jumpstart the radial engine :D
Whats the sherman at 2:40 in the first vid? Its got a weird mantlet and I dont remember ever seeing an easy 8 converted to firefly, so I guess its some post war israeli modification or something?
After googling it I think its an Israeli Sherman M-50.
really thought that chain would snap…
tank aint that hard to push/pull away. Yes they are heavy but cuz they are heavy they have to roll very smoothly.
My parents live near there, darnit! I thought they wouldn’t parade tanks bevause of potential damage to the roads or some nearly-extinct insect (this being Holland with it’s stupid rules because of rules). Shame I missed it, well at least I can see a Panther in Overloon in a few weeks.
Rubber tracks dont damage roads ..
Today is also the day when USSR attacked Poland in ’39.
There was remembrance day in my school (bells were replaced by sirens, which was cool).
Also few reenactors came – few in Polish uniforms, few in brirtish, german and soviet ones.
Reenactors from Anders Army came with Jeep, allies guns and M16A2 MGMC which is an AA gun consisting of 4 browning M2s on chasis of M3 half-track.
Not much to make an article or brag about seeing, but it was interesting to see and touch (we could get inside the drivers cabin and sit on the “gun seat”).
Aw, I’d have thought the Canadians would bring a Grizzly over for it. Not historical, but then neither was that M50! :)
Does any one know why one of the trucks in the first video had its national star on upside down?
