It’s me, photos’ author. If you could just correct one mistake in my name I would be grateful :) It’s mRORome not mRRome. I am sorry if I made a mistake in my E-mail but my keyboard is far from new and it can do some nasty things when writing on it.
Ban.
YOU CANT BAN KVAS. KVAS WILL BAN YOU.
In Soviet Belarus, users ban you!
Nice photos , thx for sharing . wish i could visit a tanks museum once . i dont know which one is closest though xD
Visited france’s museé de l’armee but i remember only seeing canons and such .
“Wojskowej” is actually “army”, “militarny” is “military”
Nie zgodzę się z tobą “army” można by przetłumaczyć jako “armijny” do “wojskowy” dużo lepiej pasuje “military”
That’s strange I’m polish and we have IS not JS also this FT-17 have very interesting story behind I will only tell we found it in Irak
I guess someone decided to “polonize” the acronym. ;)
Huh, some polish friend told me that it was actually used in the Polish-Soviet war, and was struck by a mortar or artillery shell which almost completely destroyed it.
This same polish friend actually met its owner once, as he is doing alot of modelling stuff for tanks, and coincidentally met the owner through some convention.
I was wrong in one case it wasn’t found in irak, it was found in Afghanistan
You are wrong, “IS” is the new westernized thing, if you look int ’50ties and ’60ties literature, you can find “JS” everywhere.
IS as of Iosif Stalin, so Polish JS as of Józef Stalin.
My grandfather served on IS-2 in Polish Tank Forces as commander after the war, he called them “Stalinowiec”. ;) He said they were easier to drive than T-34-85, on which he served earlier.
i like the look of M107 SPG, WG can make it another Tier X CW gift tank :-) and ASU looks good too, but i think we dont need another rusian premium TD or 3rd TD branch….
Dat gun!
M107 has so long range it can shoot on another map in-game :P
From Malinowka to el halluf
This M107 was a gift from Democratic Republic of Vietnam, IIRC.
I remember I was there once, and called the BTR-152W “Chinese car” because its “windshileds” looked like asian eyes, and it looked like it had this asian hat.
Dunno why every equipement gets his national name except for the 280mm howitzer…
It’s official designation was Mortier de 280 mle 1914/1915 Schneider, depending on the delivery date. It was meant to counter heavy german artillery, something the French (and British) army lacked almost completely, since its leaders decided that the 75mm was more than enough for everything.
About 200 were manufactured, and 45 shipped to Russia during WW1. They were then used by the Whites, Reds, Blacks and Poles during the Russian civil war and assorted conflicts.
They were still in use by the beginning of WWII, and stopped the Italians in the Alps. The Germans even took a few captured ones to Leningrad and Moscow.
I am sorry for that, but I didn’t know the designation of 280mm and took it from official description on museum site. I am not an expert but just passionate nad wanted to share some awesome photos with you :)
‘JS-2M (obviously IS-2M, the J is a Polish designation)’
It’s not only Polish. Some call the IS series ‘JS’ because: Joseph Stalin.
How about Jozef Stalin? Dunno about you but I certainly always call him Jozef/Józef Stalin.
Ha none of them have barrel markings, Polish noobs! (#Sarcasm in case someone’s offended ;) )
“279,4mm Schneider Wz.1914 mortar”
lets put this one on the WT E 100 :3
That big-ass radar on 7 T-54 roadwheels looks so amazing.
ASU-85 looks like SU-122-54 in game to me just abit different gun mantlet and front.
Little correction T-72M is on the picture…..
Sorry, I am not an expert and used the official description from museum’s site.
No problem :)
That 100mm anti air, looks a lot like tier 10 soviet med gun U-8TS
Damn it! I have like, 100 photos from both the tank and plane part of the museum. BUT they all look like crap due to nokia phone camer
My Nokia camera have about 18 megapixels
That FT must have the shortest barrel I’ve ever seen. It’s what, 30mm L/2?
Nah, that’s 37mm L/21 SA18 gun. Photo angle is kinda bad, the gun isn’t really THAT short.
Does t55 merida passes wot time frame?
It is too “modern”. It has fire control system (the tank took its name after that) – I recall SerB or Storm talking that tanks with those systems aren’t allowed in WoT :) And it has also some other changes, altough less significant to the game itself.
That 100 mm AA gun of unknown type is soviet KS-19. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/100_mm_air_defense_gun_KS-19 I think there also should be Some sort of fire control device standing nearby, but I was in the museum few good years ago and I see some changes.
You can always count on experts :) Sadly there was no description in museum and I told Silentstalker everything that I knew.
Nice photos.
Also, didn’t Storm say that ASU-57 and 85 aren’t planned? Not really sure, just asking.
Damn, Mrrome beat me to it. Was planning on going there myself in the near futurre and upload a bunch of pics.
Been there literally today, got a bunch of pictures, and then I see this. I know the feeling ;)
i think that 279,4mm mortar should be definitely implemented on T10 tank destroyer. what is worst that can happen? that it will one shot tanks? no problem, they can nerf it year later…
Very interesting :)
Very interesting photos, wish I could go to such museum someday.
