Probably the most important news of the day is that after a short time, Vallter is forced to abandon his blog, the very same blog that showed so much promise to eventually replace Overlord’s blog as an official English source of developer info. I wouldn’t really be surprised, if Vallter was forced to stop blogging, so worthless self-righteous lazy morons at WG EU (yes, we all know who I am talking about) were to stay as exclusive information source.

Ah well, that’s what I am here for anyway. So, BIG thanks to Vallter for bringing us nice amount of info (not like those morons at WG EU, who only translated several Storm’s post and they fucked up even that).

Anyway, today’s Q&A:

- the angle for ricochet in WoT is 70 degrees, this actually applies for the bottom of the tank too
- KV-5 suffering too much with the 8.6 patch? “Don’t play KV-5″ (Storm adds: It’s good for farming. When it comes to profitability, KV-5 is on second place compared to other T8 premium tanks. Storm also adds that which tank is on 1st place is secret, but it’s not T34)
- Charioteer (20pdr Cromwell) in WoT? “No comment on future branches”
- Kanonendjagdpanzer in the game? “It doesn’t fit the branches. Otherwise, no comment.”
- SerB on whether players should buy the new Chinese “112″ premium tank: “You want to buy? Buy it. You don’t? Then don’t. But there are no “pwn all” OP tanks in WoT and there won’t be any”.
- next few patches will bring something “unusual” (possibly new maps, vehicles and game mechanics)
- with the introduction of twin-linked guns and multiturret vehicles, Storm states it’s possible that both guns will be able to fire together at the same time
- according to Storm, the 25 percent RNG was made to make the game more realistic and more interesting
- in 8.6, enemy tank’s engine sound (SS: which players will be able to hear on 150m distance) won’t be heard, if the enemy vehicle isn’t spotted (SS: this is to prevent “camping and listening”)
- the gun of the same caliber has a stronger demasking effect on arty vehicles than on tanks and tank destroyers
- on T-25/2 and Jackson turrets (SS: where one of the turrets is open-topped and the other is covered), the “roof” cover actually works well against arty HE shells, it counts as covered roof, so when an arty shell hits and “slit” between the turret and the roof finds itself in a blast radius of the HE shell, the HE damage won’t pass thru it without any armor check at all.
- the APCR shells differ from AP shells in following parameters: shell velocity, shell penetration, normalisation and penetration loss over distance
- SerB earlier stated that the VK3601H konisch regular shells are actually historically subcaliber, they are marked (and treated) as “AP” for players not to be confused, eg. konish silver shells are not getting subcaliber-nerfed in 0.8.6
- there are no plans to re-work KV-5 armor the way the Superpershing armor is getting reworked. Allegedly there are some different data about the radioman’s miniturret thickness, but Storm doesn’t know about them
- it is (SS: very theoretically) possible (SS: or rather, not specifically excluded), that Jagdpanzer 38D (with L/70, but also with PAW 1000) and Krupp/Ardelt Waffentragers will be implemented as a part of some German branch (SS: In case you are wondering, Jagdpanzer 38D is a 38t (Hetzer) evolution and PAW 1000 is a German WW2 smooothbore gun, with penetration decent enough for tier 6-7). I wrote more on Jagdpanzer 38d and Waffentrager lines here, including pictures.
- the amount of credits you get from the battle does depend on whether you win or lose, this goes for premium vehicles too
- the fact France got late post-war camo does not mean Germany will get a Bunderswehr camo, because Germans have no problems with the amount of camo patters available for implementing.
- it’s possible some older models have small issues with gun barrel sizes (old M4 was mentioned), this will be corrected during the re-work of all models, which is scheduled at some point

  1. - the angle for ricochet in WoT is 70 degrees, this actually applies for the bottom of the tank too

I can see the potential whining when certain tanks come along.

    - Kanonendjagdpanzer in the game? “It doesn’t fit the branches. Otherwise, no comment.”

    So, premium tank possible?

    - the fact France got late post-war camo does not mean Germany will get a Bunderswehr camo, because Germans have no problems with the amount of camo patters available for implementing.

    Damnit!

    - it’s possible some older models have small issues with gun barrel sizes (old M4 was mentioned), this will be corrected during the re-work of all models, which is scheduled at some point

    And the remodeling continues!

  2. - in 8.6, enemy tank’s engine sound (SS: which players will be able to hear on 150m distance) won’t be heard, if the enemy vehicle isn’t spotted (SS: this is to prevent “camping and listening”)

With Gnomefathers engine sound mod you wouldn’t hear cold shit either way :P

  3. - When it comes to profitability, ……..which tank is on 1st place is secret, but it’s not T34)
    - SerB ….. But there are no “pwn all” OP tanks in WoT and there won’t be any”.

    - *cough*** chokes on my incredulity. The Type-59 is the most profitable and most OP tank in the game which is why they won’t rerelease it . It is quite obvious.

*waits for Type 59 owners to whine it isn’t OP

    • The Type isnt OP , Arty is OP.

At least you can see the type shooting/aiming at you.

        • I agree arty is the most OP vehicle. The type is the most OP premium tank though, it’s even better than some mediums. Plus it’s much more fun to drive then something like a Panther 2, or a centurion.

          • “top 1% players”, thats mean they are pwning you no matter what tanks they driving. The OP one is the players, not IS-6.

          • You want to see the most OP premium tank? Try SU-122-44. Even if you are considering only t8, T34 is better than type.

        • Oh you old geiser, don’t you know that the future belongs to the youth?

This isn’t real life, this is WoT. When You see me in your virtual tank it wont matter who is older and who is younger, only who is better at the game ^^

I love when people feel that they are wiser than someone just because they are older, this isn’t a fairytale you know :P

Oh, and young people actually have working reflexes, so we can afford to play something that requires them, instead of slowly moving an arty reticle for 10 minutes ;)

          • But I understand I’d be butthurt too if my brain cells were slowly dieing because I’m aging beyong puberty. Don’t worry I hear it gets easier as your brain capacity gets smaller ;)

      • Years, even deckades of gathering knowledge and wisdom have led to that single comment. I am truly in awe.

    • Not a Type 59 owner, but the Type 59 isn’t OP.
You either need to learn where to shoot it, or your tank is in too low of a tier [which would have an equally hard time engaging a T-44 or Panther II anyway].

      • They (WG) have repeatedly said that they won’t sell the Type 59 again because it is so popular. I’m sure it’s popularity is due to it being rubbish. *

        • Hard time engaging a panther2? Oh please that thing has no frontal armor…
If you had a Type you would see it’s unbalanced, at least in random matches.

      • It’s basically as good as a T44, which makes it OP with the preferred Matchmaking. It’s pretty tough too meet it with a Tier 6 because of the good frontal armor and gun. And it will meet those pretty often since it’s restricted to Tier 6-9.

      • Type is not so OP as a T8 medium, but unlike other T8 meds, it don’t have to fight T10, this make type become one of the most OPest tank in the game.

  4. Sucks about Vallter. That was looking promising. Another WG failure to inform its players.

  5. Maybe they will finally implement proper dimensions of 7,5 l70 on vk 3001d and 10,5 l24 different for vk 2801 and rest, e50 10,5 that is thinner than 8,8 l71 on panther2.

    • remember: guns have different amounts of “armor” (metal thickness after the bore). this means that a 10.5 can be thinner than a 8.8, and that a 85mm can be as thick as a 122 (think KV-1)

  6. The Type 62 currently ingame has the model of the WZ-131. The WZ-131 and the type basically look identical. Whereas the Type 62 and the WZ-132 in game look completely different! AND THE TYPE 62 AND WZ-132 ARE EXACTLY THE SAME TANK IN REAL LIFE!

    • rofl.
You got that so wrong. wz-131 and Type 62 are the same vehicle, not the 132 and type… that’s also the reason why the look identical and are the same tier….

Actually this is not works on the Jackson. The roof of the Jackson is NOT spaced armor while the roof of the T25/2 is. This roof on both vehicles is 19mm so every SPG with an 57mm or a bigger gun can do full damage on the roof of the Jackson…..Fail

    • SPG’s have a high chance of ammoracking open topped vehicles though, the point stated was that they were not open topped, and that SPG shells penetrate their roof like normal armor(which you yourself said in your whine)

      • As I said they can do full damage. The M36 has 590 hp.
        after the 0.8.6:
Hummel average damage: 950 (min: 713)
        M44 average gamage: 700 (min: 525)
        AMX 13 F3 AM average damage: 950 (min: 713)
        SU-8 average damage: 910 (min: 683)

Who cares about the ammo rack if they can kill you with ONE shot?
My ammor rack is intact so I don’t care about the fact that I have 0 hp. /Sarcasm
As long as it’s not spaced armor it doesn’t help AT ALL.

        • As you said even lower arties could 1shot you. So what has changed?

it was stated it wasn’t spaced armor though, so why do you disagree with the OP?

  8. ‘- KV-5 suffering too much with the 8.6 patch? “Don’t play KV-5″ (Storm adds: It’s good for farming. When it comes to profitability, KV-5 is on second place compared to other T8 premium tanks. Storm also adds that which tank is on 1st place is secret, but it’s not T34)’
i dont get it. storm said before that kv5 will be actually tough opponent in 0.8.6, did he change his mind or what?

    • He meant that the increased accuracy, better spar liners and likelier APCR bounce will make it tougher.
And it will, but it will also make all the other tanks tougher (and have an easier time shooting the tumor instead of even loading APCR in the first place).

So basically Storm is being a lying dickhead again.

  9. “- the angle for ricochet in WoT is 70 degrees, this actually applies for the BOTTOM of the tank too”

    original post is:

“Угол рикошета в игре 70 градусов. От ДНИЩА снаряд рикошетит по тем же правилам, что и от любой другой поверхности.”

“BOTTOM” is a noob or retard in that context. :)

  10. - SerB on whether players should buy the new Chinese “112″ premium tank: “You want to buy? Buy it. You don’t? Then don’t. But there are no “pwn all” OP tanks in WoT and there won’t be any”.

According to glorious and surely reliably serveer statistics, which are totally not affected by external factors.

    - according to Storm, the 25 percent RNG was made to make the game more realistic and more interesting

I’d expect some minor armour and shell quality variation, but 25% seems wildly exaggarated to me. In terms of gameplay, it does serve a purpose (de-emphasising meticulous armour calculations slightly, making sheer tactics more important), but too much just makes the game utterly frustrating and punishes skilled play. I’ll never forget the time when my IS-8′s tier X gun bounced off a T-54′s unangled hull at 20m, *twice in a row*.

    • I like how they say the RNG is introduced to make the game “realistic” and “interesting”, but not hearing a 60 ton metal monster running a 30 liter engine 150m away until it’s spotted isn’t.

      • In real life you can’t hear shit when commandeering a tank, even when peeking outside the turret. It’s very likely a hidden tank with its engine at idle will go unnoticed.

        • Not to mention you have your own monster engine on your own tank. Even idle, those things can be loud inside and outside the tank.

          • How does that work, then? Your engine is loud at idle, but the other tank’s isn’t? What if you’re sitting in a Marder 2 at idle and the other tank is an IS-7 doing 60 knocking down houses?

    • @raztl

The sound of our own engine swamps the sound of the enemy one, being a lot closer to you.

Furthermore, the camo reduction while moving compensates for the enemy’s noise fine so the chances of spotting the enemy are increased 5-fold If I remember my percentages correctly.

  11. “in 8.6, enemy tank’s engine sound (SS: which players will be able to hear on 150m distance) won’t be heard, if the enemy vehicle isn’t spotted (SS: this is to prevent “camping and listening”)”

If they allowed that to happen the spotting system would of been compromised. A hack can easily be made to trace the source of a sound and map its precise location. It’s called “sound ESP”. It’s even possible that the sound system isn’t hacker proof even now and that some small piece of code betrays all enemy locations. After all, a sound source with 0 magnitude is still a sound source as far the computer code is concerned.

  12. - the amount of credits you get from the battle does depend on whether you win or lose, this goes for premium vehicles too.
    Typo?
Otherwise – DAFUQ? Not only half XP gets stolen but also some amount of credits? Fuck it.

    • You didn’t realize that yet ? You gain 50% more xp and 50% more credits for a win, it has been like this since early beta ..

        • But that doesn’t work with data collected by playing the game. I’ve seen matches where losing, despite doing 5k damage nets the same income as winning with 2k damage.

I have a feeling that the wiki is incorrect on this specific matter.

  13. Actually, they could make silver for konisch APCR and buff penetration a little to compensate, i wouldn’t mind.

  14. “- it’s possible some older models have small issues with gun barrel sizes (old M4 was mentioned), this will be corrected during the re-work of all models, which is scheduled at some point”

The Marder II also needs some love in this respect. comparing breech blocks and such there’s something wrong with one of the two last guns. Either the 75mm is oversized, or the 76.2mm is undersized.

  15. I make profit with my Type59 even by simply drowning at the start of the battle. Other than that, at 2000-2500dmg, there’s a guaranteed credit profit of 70k-90k.
