10.7.2013

First and foremost, I appreciate all the donations so far, thanks guys. I think it’s best not to publish any particulars, but you know who you are and I am grateful to all of you.

As you all probably know, tomorrow the second round of 8.7 test starts, with following changes:

- Fixed the T-50-2 tank conversion error. Now the equipment from T-50-2 transferred to the depot and the remaining modules (turret, suspension) are sold by a purchasing price.
- Fixed some errors and mistakes on the “Belogorsk-19” and “Highway” maps.
- Changed the icon in the Battle Score Panel for the Bishop SPG
- Changed the price for the E-25 Premium TD. Now it costs 6700 gold.
- Switched off the Assault mode on the Westfield and Malinovka maps.
- Corrected errors in the ‘Sniper’ and ‘Lucky’ achievements receiving description.
- Fixed collision-models of some buildings and object.
- Reworked voiceovers. Some of the game actions received new voiceover texts. Now the sounding of the events will become more vivid. Also reworked the “radio effect”.

Regular Q&A:

- for now, there are no plans to introduce wheel-cum-track mechanism itself
- there actually was a Soviet artillery vehicle with autoloader, it was a competitor to the Msta design, but it won’t be implemented to the game (SS: too new I believe)
- the historical documents about the MT-25 mentioned a mysterious 47mm gun. There is no such gun on the ingame MT-25, as SerB thinks it’d definitely a typo, the drawings clearly show (specify) a 45mm gun, Soviets didn’t have ny native 47mm guns and trophy 47mm guns were not available in sufficient amounts
- the problem with the wheeled vehicles in WoT was the turning mechanism. Developers were working on one Havok option apparently (“pushing” static objects – namely trucks) and “accidentally” made a mechanism allowing the implementation of wheeled vehicles
- Q: “Mines, encounter – the upper spawn is closer to the target base!” A: “How terrible…”
- no plans to introduce consumables, that would increase crew gained XP (2x, 3x), but the developers are thinking of another, yet undisclosed, option
- Havok will bring more features to the game than previously announced (SS: which was turrets getting ripped by explosions, parts of tanks flying off, realistic detracks, destructable objects and houses), SerB will even demonstrate, but later

  1. “- Q: “Mines, encounter – the upper spawn is closer to the target base!” A: “How terrible…””

What a dick! They are having the target base not even closer, but with better defending positions. Funny thing is that the game hates me and I have never played from the upper spawn, since they introduced this fucked up mode on this map. Of course you can imagine the most of battles is lost, unless I have unicums on my side.

    • As serB would say,”How terrible! Stop begging and go join the army while playing barbie online.

    • Well, they are always answering in that rude way,
but if somethings wrong they change it.
The stupid assault mode on Westfield gets switched off for example,
I guess same thing will happen to Mines assault too.

    • Better defending positions? Last couple of assault rounds on Mines I started in the south and won. It’s not that hard, just have to have a bit of help from your team, and find the weak spots in theirs.

        • Why does the Assault Mode on Westfield gets switched off? On second thought, it’s right, almost every time the defender lost the game…

  2. WOW 300 Gold cheaper NOW I can afford that thing…. its still to much after all

    • Hopefully more realistic than what the animation for it is now… oh wait, there is no animation for detracking, is there? :P

    • Imagine an E-50 driving off hill being detracked.

Now it just skids on, and turns around.
With the Havok, there would be a little chance that it would even tumble downhill.

  3. “- Havok will bring more features to the game than previously announced (SS: which was turrets getting ripped by explosions, parts of tanks flying off, realistic detracks, destructable objects and houses), SerB will even demonstrate, but later”

Best news I’ve heard today… destructable buildings/terrain… finally WG is starting to delve into what makes the Frostbite engines so desirable.

    • Don’t expect much! Big buildings (like in Himmelsdorf) will most likely NOT be destructible and the terrain in general won’t be either, they confirmed that earlier.

      • All that small stuff sounds nice and i really like that tanks could flip over on their sides or even on the roof with Havok, so when a big tank rams little scout it will be possible to really flip it over. Why i like this. Well mainly cause all mountain goat tanks going down the huge steep hill/cliff and only detracks himself while IRL no one would be that crazy to do it. If they make going down big steep hills like on El Haluf really hard to drive down without fliping over or tumbling down it’s gonna add even more realism and it would be actually in a good way.

      • That makes me slightly sad… I had this crazy fantasy of having 3 artillery shoot the castle on himmelsdorf several times to cause it to collapse and fall on the 8 line road, crushing everything underneath the rubble. =p

          • Probably none at all. Apparently it will bring some kind of “multicore support” so the game runs on one core, and the havok physics calculation runs on another one. So in fact it might even increase performance.

  4. “turrets getting ripped by explosions”

Cannot wait to die from an M103 turret flying at my tank. xD

  5. “- there actually was a Soviet artillery vehicle with autoloader, it was a competitor to the Msta design, but it won’t be implemented to the game (SS: too new I believe)”

If he means the Ob’yekt 327, then yes, that is way too recent for World of Tanks (developed between 1976 and 1987).

  6. “They just dinged us!” ” … um… wasn’t I the one shooting them, not other way around?”
Hope they change this one too, as for some reason it annoys the crap outta me!

    -
Someone should go on Russian forums and ask why in WoWP they can sort their aircraft to tier but in WoT we can’t sort our tanks to tier. I have 65 garage slots (yes, I’m a hoarder) and it’s starting to take ages to find stuff.

  7. Well, they were saying for a long time about the fact they may add wheeled vehicles in future and here we have proper mechanisms to do so… Let’s hope, that Pumas and different …hounds will roam the battlefields soon(-ish)!

  8. - the problem with the wheeled vehicles in WoT was the turning mechanism

Excuse me? Is WoT developed by programmers or by monkeys? Turning mechanism of wheeled vehicles was the only problem that prevented them from appearing? Driving games in the 90s had turning mechanism implemented and they can only make one by mistake (that mistake is probably pre-implemented feature in havok)?

  9. - Reworked voiceovers. Some of the game actions received new voiceover texts. Now the sounding of the events will become more vivid. Also reworked the “radio effect”.

The voice message ‘We’ve got them’ replaced with ‘Armour is penetrated!’

That’s apparently the new sound voiceover change.
