- Storm on fixing longer waiting times on RU server: “It is now needed to trace (SS: as in ‘pin down’) existing problems so they can be fixed later”
- Q: “Why are Japanese tankers now so blonde and have names like Emil and Dietrich?” A: “Those are allied kids on an exchange trip” (SS: currently, Japanese crew in Chi Nu Kai – upcoming 8.9 premium Japanese tank – consists temporarily of German crewmen”
- when you lose, if you recieved certain awards, you will get the same XP/credit bonus as if you won (“curagous resistance”). Storm stated that other variants (SS: the asking player for example mentioned for damage done) are worse for various reasons (and when nagged further about this, he only replies: “envy is bad”)


- furthermore for the question above, another player suggested that another solution would be to simply reward top players of the losing team, that gained most XP. Storm replied that this would also apply to cases when a team lost 15-0 and noone in the team showed real curageous resistance, it would be stupid to reward such losses.
- regarding the question above yet again, when asked why not simply put a minimal XP threshold for such an award, Storm replied: “For each tier the XP values are different. Should every tier have its own threshold? That would be quite complicated regarding the reward system. And if you manage to get exactly 1 XP less than the threshold – wouldn’t you feel sorry?” In other words, the medals were chosen as the criteria that are simpliest to understand. You get a medal – you get a reward.
- it’s possible that the Sniper medal (regarding the abovementioned reward) will be reconsidered, because it’s easy to get and causes the most issues, especially for rapid fire guns.
- it’s not possible to hear enemy tank until it is discovered (lit up by a scout)
- the bug with the word filter being permanently enabled will be fixed (SS: 8.9)
- Storm confirms that the Type 62 model was changed in 8.8 and that its gold shells were nerfed and automatically sold for full price

  1. why do they always have to sell gold shells after change. why not just let them where they are. wg has already enough money

    • It gets changed (nerfed) so you might not want to use it from now on. Not like they would gain money with it as you can re-buy them from the selling price.

      • Totally bullshit to refund the shells, just because they got nerfed. Just leave them there, so people dont have to rebuy them.

        • Yeah, but those nerfed shells may change in pricing, so if they get sold for original price, you could then buy MORE shells, without having to pay more. If you still want them.

            shell gets nerfed and force sold for the price you payed for them.
            then you need to rebuy them but low and behold they are now 1/2K more expensive then the first time thanks to “reballance”

            that’s how WG works with this sort of stuff.

      • Na, everyone k ows that Asians are better at everything, so an Asian crew would make the tank OP (Chinese do not count because they get shitty made in china tanks to balance out the superior asian powers)

    • Decades of anime and manga have taught me a remarkable number of Japanese inexplicably boast pigmentation patterns quite rare among even us terribly inbred North Europeans – are you trying to tell me this is a lie? :O

        • I did note an alarming lack of rampaging giant monsters and superpowered teenagers when I visited Tokyo, mind. And some 6 year old brat embarassed her parents in the subway by shamelessly pointing and gawking at the funny southern barbarians.

          The toilet seats seemed to contain enough electronics to pilot a giant robot with though…

  3. for any prem shells that change either damage or pen in 8.8… do u get full creds back if u had some on depot?

  5. Even if they say that getting sniper with rapid fire guns is easy you still have to do atleast 1000 potentional damage, beside those rapid fire guns tend to miss a lot. I dont really remember any game, which my leopard made any sniper with its 30mm autogun. But I agree with Storm that medals are the best choice for that bonus.

  6. I wonder if M103′s ammo rack was nerfed, because it gets damaged very often after the patch. :/

    • Probably not. I had one as soon as it came out [because I wanted a free premium T34] and the ammo racks were damaged very often. It’s possible that you’re just having bad luck and facing enemies that know how to damage it.

    • Probably just bad luck or fighting enemies who know how to aim. The ammo rack on the M103 is gigantic and relatively exposed so enemies attacking from favourable angles have an easy time hitting and damaging it.

  7. Sorry for the slight off-topic SS, but is there any info about the AMX 30? Wasn’t it confirmed it will appear in-game or is my info wrong?

    • It’s Done When It’s Done(tm). Oughta cap off the “cavalry” branch of French tanks I gather, or at least that’d be logical.

          • If they make the AMX-30B historical, it should be very slightly more armoured, with an equivalent gun, lighter but a bit larger, same top speed, slightly better hp/t, with a gigantic cuppola (but once again, these tanks weren’t conceived to be used like in WoT).

    Because I have the feeling that now it’s more sluggish…

  9. I agree that the Sniper medal needs to be reworked. What I think it should work with instead is the distance of the shot, and possibly accuracy. Here’s some ideas:

    1) Score a hit on an enemy tank at…I’ll say 300 meters or further.

    -OR-

    2) Score a hit on an enemy tank and damage a module at 300 meters or further (to further emphasize accuracy, although hitting the tracks will be rather easy to do)

    The award would be rewarded to who did it at the furthest distance if multiple people qualify, and if it’s a tie, to the person who got more XP in the battle. If it’s STILL a tie, neither person gets it.

        • That depends; I’d say that if arty can get it, then it would have to be on one of two conditions:

          1) it must be a DIRECT hit

          -OR-

          2) To up the ante, it has to be a DIRECT hit, with DIRECT-FIRE (meaning they can’t use arty mode to do it across the map; to kill a tank with arty via a direct hit at that distance, without using arty mode would kill any argument that it doesn’t require skill)

  13. I have a question: I had 2nd class Vents on my VK 36.01 (H), before it was changed to HT in 8.8. Those vents were taken from VK (with rammer btw), put in storage, but now – as a HEAVY – VK has to mount Vents class 3… So I was left with “useless” (I know I can put them on any other med, but I don’t want to) class 2 Vents, instead of getting Class 3 Vents for those Class 2 ones. WHY?
