8.9 – all that’s left

Hello everyone,

if you did read the earlier posts, you might have noticed that there are some changes that were missing. Some stuff was not available yet, some I forgot to add. Let’s have a look at the rest of the 8.9 changes.

Tiger mantlet

Tiger mantlet was changed once again (thanks to Orkel for reminding me), it now looks roughly like this:

orkel_1381626331

Orkel on the topic:

The highlighted pink areas go from 150mm (8.8) to 90mm (8.9). Presumably so it’s not 250mm of combined armor (100mm turret behind it), so it’s going to a “reasonable” 190mm of effective armor instead. 00mm if we take into account the turret’s slight < shaped slope behind it. Rest of the turret is the same. Won’t make much of a difference in tier 7 battles, 190mm of armor is still a tough nut to crack (especially when it’s spaced and sloped, and fired at from 100+ metres when pen drop starts to take effect) but it suffers a little in random absorbtions from the highest tier guns.

8.9 undocumented changes

Panzerjäger I had its gun traverse angle improved for both guns (earlier 10 degrees to each side, now 17,5 degrees to each side)

Jagdpanzer IV had its gun traverse angle improved for all guns (earlier 10 degrees to each side, now 12 degrees to each side)

All the artillery vehicles with the changed shell velocities have their gravity shell factor changed (I assume it’s to compensate for the shells to have the same trajectory)

FUG 7 Ausf.F (T-15 and other vehicles) had its hitpoints improved from 150 to 160, FUG 8 had its hitpoints improved from 100 to 140 (apart from the distance buff).

Panzer V/IV: the “-20 degrees depression” applies only when the gun is facing sideways, forward it is -4 instead of earlier -3 now

SU-101 had its gun traverse angle for 100mm guns increased from 7 to 9,3 to each side, for the 122mm gun it’s from 7 to 7,3 degrees.

FT AC had its gun traverse angle nerfed for all guns from 9 to 6 degrees to each side

      • SS “You were right. I did not know exactly how War Thunder trees work. So I checked properly – and I still don’t like it”

Oh yeah gj job Frank from yesterday till now in this short time u are aware how the trees work especially when u dont have played the planes (cause I know u hate planes), so you couldnt get a feel how the tree and tierspread mechanisms work, now who has the lack of comprehension, gj mate…

        • You really dont get it do you? NOBODY cares for your whining about your precious FartThunder. This is HIS blog, HIS medium, and if you dont like the opinion, just leave and dont read it. Or just read the FAQ. But stop polluting other posts, ok mor0n?

          • Hell yeah!! Be with him or against him!! No crticism allowed!! But hes true that this is the wrong Post to open this topic again…

          • How about no?!

Lame WG Fanboys yeah stay there and go on getting cheated all the time by this joke of a wannabe company, go play with ur unrealistic toy tanks who look and drive like RC cars. :D

I can see it a lot of you will change their mind when the combined arms with useable MGs, AA, rocket and flame vehicles are in the game. xD

            • Then go play your WT then. Why do you want to stop us from still play Wot? We have no business with each other.

  1. The new T2 premium tank stats are already up in gamemodels3d.com

T7 Combat car has a friggen 50 shot clip, doing 400 damage per clip. On tier 2.

    • Hey, in this patch Lorry 40t got much needed gun depression buff to -8, leaving title of the most sad tier 9 medium for Leopard Prototype.

WG received supply of high quality (polish?) vodka?

  2. SS i think it would be nice to see more articles about War Thunder tech trees. I also find them very weird and its nice to know where are fails hidden. Dont care about derpos spamming/raging.

    • Calling fails fails when u have a lack of comprehension are no fucking fails, but consider they are at the beginning with their trees and look at WG, and WG is full of real fails and not only in their trees. ;)

      • “Calling fails fails when u have a lack of comprehension are no fucking fails”

        When making sense fails…..

        • You cant expect much from people that spend a lot of time in community of a game they dont like, just to spam and “sabotage”.

  3. > Jagdpanzer IV had its gun traverse angle improved for all guns (earlier 10 degrees to each side, now 12 degrees to each side)

Traverse for all guns, except 75 L/48, is indeed 12R/12L. For 75 L/48 traverse is 12L/15R.

    > Panzer V/IV: the “-20 degrees depression” applies only when the gun is facing sideways, forward it is -4 instead of earlier -3 now

-10 depression, not -20 (obviously, but well).

  4. “but come on, at least we don’t get identical tanks on regular basis).” Dude, you’re in denial. WoT is full of tanks using identical models and stats. If that’s your main point for raging against War Thunder please take a moment and have a nice big cup of shut the fuck up. But I guess you just like to complain a lot, it’s basically the whole purpose of this blog.

    • Of course, but they should know better than to expect positive opinions on WT from a World of Tanks blog.

I’ll probably be playing WTGC long enough to determine if I like it or not, and my inner beta tester will probably keep me going for longer.

  5. On TIger mantlet “190mm of effective armor instead. 00mm(I think you mean 200mm) if we take into account the turret’s slight < shaped slope behind it."

and off topic is it possible to incorporate a few text formating options for comments??

  6. M7 Combat Car…I think that’s gonna be the New Years gift. Doesn’t look all that bad either by comparison to the last ones. The Tetrarch was just REALLY good, which is why I hated people who got it, but fortunately the T-15 is a pretty good surrogate for it. The T1E6, on the other hand, was a joke. It was a tier 1 tank in all but name, and not enough of an improvement to be worth it.

By comparison I see the M7 having the agility of the T1E6, but having autocannons or machine guns instead (it has two gun barrels so I assume it has two guns), which will basically make it what the T1E6 SHOULD have been.

  7. Guys, let’s not get into fights between WoT and WT. They’re both great games and we can leave it at that.

SS: The T7 Combat Car looks like a helluva lot of fun, and it also looks like it might be our next Christmas present – do you have any news/ideas on this?

    Woody

    • The only attractive thing about WT will be historical battle and full real battle for tanks. If i want arcade, I’ll play the superior arcade tank game. Oh, not spending money on WT either. They’re both good games, they just have different target audiences.
