In other news, the WG EU portal bug is still very much alive and people are getting news in Polish instead of English. How terrible.

- the WT E-100 has a nominal turret back armor of 8mm in its stats, but that doesn’t refer to the back of the turret, but to its roof
- Storm states it doesn’t matter whether you call this patch 0.8.9 or 8.9 (“whatever you like more”), but WG utilizes the 8.9 version more
- Storm confirms that balance in 7/42 battles is based on special 7/42 rating, that is based only on your performance in 7/42 battles, which means there haven’t been enough battles played yet and that the stats are lacking. After a week or two, the stats will be there and the rating will start to show real value and the 7/42 battles (skill MM) will work much smoother
- for current 7/42 skill MM, regular personal rating is NOT used, it’s “survival of the fittest” according to Storm
- there is no specified coefficient for the difference between camo factor while standing and camo factor while moving for any one class, apparently it’s tuned individually for each tank (SS: a player mentions that according to experiments, heavies lose 50 percent camo while moving on average, mediums lose 25 percent of camo when moving and TD’s lose 40 percent of their camo while moving).
- Christie tanks won’t appear for now
- a ricocheted shell cannot damage another vehicle apparently: there are technical reasons for this decision: one shell hitting two tanks would somehow disrupt the server processes
- the fact the engine fire doesn’t kill crewmen is a gameplay decision

    Wut?!?

    • Shell after ricochet can hit parts of a tank, that was hit by that shell, but this shell can’t hit other tanks after ricochet.

    • It has to do with the way the engine calculates penetration.

      I think it transfers the shell to the collision model directly and it isolates the shell within that single vehicle. There isn’t a process to have the shell exit that model and move to another model. It’s been years since I read about it so I could be wrong.

    hmm… I sense “historical” change is on the way

    • I think it is a way to balance the tanks. Or rather, take that variable out of the balance equation.

      Tanks with less crew will suffer more from fires than tanks with many crew members. Imagine getting crew killed at Tier X because of an engine fire. French tanks would probably suffer the most.

    It’s 0.8.9 and Storm knows that well. I dunno who are they lying to with their naming of patches….themselves?

  5. This mm by 7/42 rating is not good, i played 20 matches random autoteam whit kv4 and got like 80% wr whit high damage and kill ratio , who am i going to play later whit those unicorns from top clans ?

    • It has been proven many times that clan players aren’t that good when put in a match with random allies and opponents. Clans are dominated by people who cooperate well, they don’t have to be good on their own to prevail in clan wars. Also, as Storm said, wait few weeks before skill ratings for 7/42 kick in bro. Now it’s no different from random.

    • They said to give the rating system 2 weeks to calibrate. At this early point your rating probably hasn’t adjusted much from its default value and the teams you get as a result are effectively still random.

    Such a shell would have lost much of it kinetic energy, be tumbling and damaged so that the chances of penetrating any other tank practically nil.

    Anyone who wants to kill more than one tank with with only one shot needs to play a lot of arty. Making multiple kills with one shell is very satisfying and there is a medal that is also very nice. There is no special award for multiple kill stealing with one shot but the feed back from your team mates is in stereo. Trolling the enemy and ones own team – what bliss.

  7. As there is such an amount of Q/A on a daily basis, can someone sometime ask about the mac os X version of WoT that is supposed to be implemented?
    Unfortunately I wasn’t here on time to submit it for the FTR #2 questionnaire… I suppose I’m not the only one struggling with the wine port that crashes every 3-4 battles or so.
