Hello everyone,

Overlord posted an interesting idea about MM rewards, go check it out :)

- SerB states that (regarding the WT Panzer IV) the Panzer IV chassis could carry a 128mm gun – he recommends to go and have a look at Waffenträger on 38(t) chassis in Kubinka, it also could hold the 128mm and 150mm gun
- angle of impact has no effect on track armor thickness (SS: in case you didn’t know, tracks do have an armor value, usually around 20mm)
- T14 appearing as the only tier 5 tank in tier 6 battles despite being too weak fort that? “How terrible…”


- SerB states that situation, where all crewmembers and modules are intanct but a tank “dies” anyway is realistic (SS: as in, in real life it would be breaking apart in seems from damage for example)
- when optional hulls become available, you won’t have to destroy both hulls to get the expert medal
- when multi-gun mechanism is implemented and Maus gets its 75mm gun, SerB states its game impact will be negligible
- Object 268 (heavy tank), Object 267 and Object 770 are not planned
- it’s possible second Soviet TD branch (with SU-152P and SU-152G) will appear
- initially, historical battles will most likely work as random battles, historical company battles might appear as second step
- the IS-3 in game doesn’t represent one exact version, various options are possible (including with IS-3M elements)
- IS-3 with various hulls will most likely appear. Optional hulls will start with the most obvious choices (such as various frontal armor on IS/IS-2 tanks), after that other optional hulls will be slowly added, but SerB adds that there won’t be ALL the hull variants of all the tanks in game (for example hulls where the only difference was an added towing cable)
- apparently the tier 10 Japanese heavy will be along the same lines of thought as Maus, but Maus will be heavier
- the reason there will be no tier 11 vehicles is: “We don’t want to make levelling up longer. We get money from more options, not from long grinds.”

  1. My question is that how will the hull changes be compensated especially the high tiers? If we grinded the E50-Motorsport, will we get a free T9 when the original E50 is gone? is it only available in high tiers?

    • Probably if u Have Both E-50 and E-50M on the garage u will get free Tier 9 tanks (Turbo Panther) if u only have E-50, then it goes up to tier 10 (no Bonus) and E-50 M only, then no Bonus Either

    And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why it’s ridiculously easy to pen an angled Maus through the front wheel (bypassing the sideskirt). Same applies to AT-2->Tortoise and to a lesser extent the T95

    • Pretty much the only way to frontally pen an AT-2 in the Matilda IV or anything else with an underpowered gun, really. The only thing that saves said TD from being permatracked and killed by the hundreds is that the drivewheel being such a crippling weakspot isn’t very widely-known at all.

      Tier 6+, generally it’s not needed to aim there, as guns almost universally have enough penetration for the cupola at range and/or there’s big derpy weak spots to shoot at anyway (see: the entire right front quarter of the AT-8).

  5. That 75mm on the Maus will be useless, it would only be any good if you didn’t have a reticle to aim with.

    • You can keep someone permatracked infront of you and slowly shred him with the main gun for example ?

    • Or you could use it to fire at destructible environment (houses, fences, walls) to clear the way for your big gun.

      I drive E-100 sometimes and apparently it also has secondary 75mm gun. It is often that something camps at opposite sides of some fragile building but I don’t want to fire at the building because of the reload time. With 75mm gun functional I could spam HE at all the obstacles covering my enemies, I could try to track enemy tanks and keep them tracked or I could finish off very low hp scouts that otherwise would cost me a very expensive shell and 16 seconds of reload.

    • Taran ? Are you serious ? That thing would have over 500mm penetration and mobility better than Foch 155 or Obj.263 and will have a turret! it’s just way too advanced m8!

        Buf ofc Cpt. Obvious strikes again and thinks that Obj. 120 (Taran´s Factory-Designation) will be the T10 of this branch..

    • Load HE on it? keep tanks tracked while you reload you main gun? finish off light scouts and low HP tanks? blow up obstacles to clear your shots? I see many uses on that second gun.

      • 7.5 HE isn’t doing shit to armored low hp tanks. Thanks to long ago HE nerfs, 0 damage is what happens there.

        True, it will help a lot with unarmored tanks such as the Leoplard

      • Yep it will be very useful.

        The Char B1-bis’s 75mm will however be deadly.

        Flamethrowing Char B2 is however even more deadly…

        So much fun is coming to tier 4. =)

    Huh, so they plan on more than just a stock hull and an elite hull, not was I was expecting

    • I would’nt call them elite and stock hulls. Well, on most tanks anyway. It’s more along the lines of modifiyng tanks into what suits you better – a.k.a. armor versus mobility or compromise between them, etc. Should also allow for greater variety in gameplay, if all goes according to plan.

      • except unless the tank in heavy mode is exceptionally well armored, everyone will go mobility.

        • In case of IS-3, 120 mm frontal armor (both UFP and LFP), pike nose with ~similar angels.

  7. SS, Object 268 “heavy tank” is a mistake of a player, who posted question. There is no such thing IRL. Change to 278, because it is what he wanted to ask (about last soviet heavy tank designs, thats why he mentioned Object 770).

    I understand that they get a lot of stupid questions, but I can’t help but think that sometimes they deliberately go out of their way to choose the stupidest questions they can answer in order to troll people.

    Well it’ll give Maus drivers one extra weapon in their arsenals to deal with Batchats and other thinly-armored vehicles, or to track a medium trying to flank them.

    We already know that, but it’s nice you aren’t ashamed to admit it. Why else would we have that many tanks implemented(most of them “coincidentally” OP at release, later nerfed) in such a short time.

    • If the pattern is so obvious then why is it even a problem to you, given the astonishing ease of ignoring the fuck out of the lot until they have been “normalised”…?
      Also feel free to actually name examples instead of this vague generic bullshit.

    They don’t want to go WOW style where they kept adding a new max level so WG won’t add a new final tier.

  14. I’m a bit leery of Overlord’s idea of giving bottom-tier tanks an xp bonus — already damaging/killing higher-tier tanks gives more xp than damaging/killing lower-tier tanks, I don’t see a need for a second bonus.

    Someone needs to quit their whining, at least the T14 gets adequate APCR penetration for dealing with most tier 6′s and has an alright turret. There’s other tanks that are far worse off in both ways, yet get the same MM (*coughMatildacough*).

      Do you actually know that 3 other T5 heavies have better penetration with normal, AP ammo than T-14 APCR shells?

      T1 HT, BDR G1 and Churchill I have all better penetration with AP than APCR on T-14

      What is rather annoying is that British T5 heavy premium Excelsior have way better APCR (144 vs 127) than T-14 despite AP pen to almost exactly the same ( 91 on UK premium vs 92 on US premium)
