8.11 Map – a bit of new info

Hello everyone,

you’ve already seen the leak of the new map? Good. It’s based on Sweden/Norway according to Storm: a winter city. Storm states that the map is 1000x1000m and that the river is actually shallow and can be forded (apart from the city part, where there are riverside reinforced banks).

Also, this map might be actually based on or inspired by the city of Trondheim (rotated map by Anonymous_Incognito, the Trondheim tip and map from Gnomefather)

    • I agree it shares many similarities with our REAL capital of Norway, which is Trondheim. Some of the roads match up as well (seen better if you compare to a 1930′s city map). Some of the bridges are way off but as a basis, sure why not. Will it make our town famous?

Winter though.. we ain’t got that much snow. But I guess I can forgive it since wot has some mythical steel beasts as well. :)

Right hand side shows some pictures and a map from 1898. Compare! Compare! :)

      • Man, Trondheim was a really fun town to take weekends in when the Marine Corps sent me on a paid vacation up to Vaernes air station.

Met up with a really cute girl that worked at Dreams Showbar, and she took me out for a night on the town that I will not soon forget. Plus her name, Hege, was rather distinctive(to me at least).

So now I’m gonna end up thinking of an awesome hook up I had a few years back anytime I end up on this map.

  1. Looks like it is in norway, juding by the spellings of the streets. Anyways, it will probably be a chokepoint map, like all other newer urban/city maps in wot lately.
