Overlord is asking, what do you think of 8.11? You can leave your opinion here

- national battles as “assault” and “encounter” are not planned
- Storm on MM rules (why battletier 12 was removed): “MM tries to spread the tanks equally through their battletiers. That’s why tier 8′s are waiting in queue for tier 10′s in order to create battles of appropriate battletiers. More free tier 10 tanks means less waiting time for tier 8′s”
- machinegun sound in game will not be changed (SS: some player was complaining it sounds weird in 8.11)
- trollplatoons were not solved earlier, because they were not considered a problem
- when assigning a trollplatoon into the battle, MM tries to compensate it by giving the other team tanks with lower MM weight
- SerB states that the cases, where the MM weight of the team with a trollplatoon is lower than the MM weight of the team without it are rare
- SerB states that regarding the mapmaking department, the staff was supplemented by new people. Only one of the leaders of the department resigned. There were two more mapmakers in it, but not a single map from them made it into the game

    • Yes, that’s nearly the case. Some of his books are about brave peasants of the USSR, who pull together in order to fight a menace and some stories about the evil USA which tries to threat the peaceful USSR.

    …instead… they picked Bob from accounting in the Paris office. IN THE PARIS OFFICE! The French are dictating UK policy! Burn the Witch!

    • Those guys seem pretty expensive and the Belorussian boys would not like to go short on the vodka just for hiring a Voice over guy for an often unused function for a group of oft maligned, under powered tanks. However a cheap an viable alternative would be Jingles.

    Bullshit, just had another trollplatoon (LT Traktor and JaPa2) on our side, and it seemed like the rest of the team’s tanks got a HIGHER MM weight.

    • Had something similar but not too trolly. Tier 6 with two tier 5s in a tier 8 match. The team without the two tier 5s got an extra tier 7. MM drank too much vodka.

    Not only t8s have long queue now it passed onto other tiers….today had to wait 30+ seconds to get into the battle with t7 tank.

    Sure. First day after the patch went live he admitted they fucked up and that there will be hotfix and now all of a sudden it’s mods fault. What about people who don’t use mods at all? They must be on shrooms hallucinating and shit. No other explanation.

  18. I’ve been getting a bug where tanks I’ve mastered already are telling me I am 3rd class? as if I never did master them, but the Service Record remains the same? Any news or rumor of this bug?

    Sergei Burkatovsky – Yesterday There Will Be War (2008).

    Contemporary Russian man falls through time and ends up in Soviet Union in the summer of 1941 and tries to avert the Nazi sneak attack on Russia. Features a very understanding and friendly Comrade Stalin and (Stalin’s Himmler) Beria, and a too stupid to live Hitler. When the book came out, it was highly praised by nationalists for it’s “nuanced” approach to Stalin.

    Highlight: Stalingrad version 0.75 being fought in the western suburbs of Moscow that goes very well for the Soviets.

    Lowlight: T-34 tanks are the answer to all questions and will win all battles regardless of strategy, fuel, lack of good commanders, or anything really. T-34 = instant victory.

    • After reading that, russian bias in WoT doesn’t seem that surprising after all. He’s imbued with stalinism and soviet superiority over the rest of the world. And on top of that evul nazies killed his ancestors.

      • There’s also the fact that jingoistic nationalism sells very well in Russia, as SerB himself has said multiple times (as opposed to…say, the US, where many people have become disillusioned about nationalism in the wake of Vietnam, and more recently, the War on Terror). Basically, it may not be what he actually believes; it’s what people in Russia want to read, so he gives them that, and makes a profit off of it. As they say, every man has a price.

    What? I have no mods and cant stand the “new” camera views and fov. Thankfully these idiots will fix this next patch by letting us turn it off. Great job wargaming! Fix something that isnt broken, aka break something that works fine then blame US for not liking it.

  27. Troll platoons are the least problem in wot, camping heavys who like to sit and snipe are the problem. Often I have games after games where heavy tanks refuse to move and just sit and snipe. What these idiots dont realise is that when they get spotted they get killed by TDs and sniped by tanks with better camo value.

      • I saw better thing few patches ago, when Sand River had flag on opposing side, on assault mod.
        Platoon of two KV-2, camping on mountings, playing snipers, armed with 152mm howitzers.

    • I am sure you are also one of the clowns completely certain that the Tiger I & II are unplayable crap. I have got news for you: some heavies are meant to be played like that. From light tanks to heavy tanks, each and every one of them can be classified as a sniper, a brawler or a flanker. It is that classification that matters, not the fact whether or not it is a heavy, a medium or anything else. Snipers are there to use their view range, accuracy and penetration to give the team both line of sight and ranged fire power, whereas brawlers are supposed to get in close and personal and lock the enemy in a fight allowing flankers to do their thing. And yes, that can involve a heavy tank sit back whilst a medium is right there in the front line. Play your tank to its strengths and you will do well, be stupid enough to believe that heavies need to charge in, period, and you will fail. Hard.

        • Where does a tank with a highly accurate gun that can put holes in any tank in the game go from long range? Directly adjacent to what its shooting at where the enemy can pick its weakspots with ease, or from where the enemy can’t shoot one specific part of it and stands a fair chance of missing?

          The King Tiger and Tiger have sniper rifles and their armor depends on the enemy not being able to shoot at weakpoints like vision ports or the lower front plate.

          • Depends on what kind of batlle you get thrown into. Brawling with tier VIII tanks works just fine.

    Storm can tell all he want, i watched stream with Ectar, and he told they got couple of voices send to them from WG, and they got to chose from them the best, there was several people responsible for this, including Ectar, it is not like they went for search of actor, recorded the voices, and then put them in game, they just received voices from Minsk and chose one of them.

    People who remember changing of “standard” voice pretty much know what kind of shit Paris received from WG.

  31. Why does the gun sight go all over the place?
    Why is auto aim always on now?
    Why can’t I set my gun sight on an object like a rock or a ridge top where a tank is but not sighted with a red outline and have my shot go anywhere near it?
    Why is that nothing that Serb talks about ever gets into the game, it’s all just hot air?

    And no I am not using mods.

    • You are kidding, right? The Russians get beaten left, right and center. By just about everybody. They may or may not have slightly better tanks, I do not think so, but they sure as hell get the reddest tomatoes to go with those stronk tanks. Today, 3 KV-1S, a bunch of 34-85′s and a long list of SU-100 tank destroyers against a bunch of German mediums and some jpz4 td’s: it took 4 minutes and 18 seconds to utterly annihilate the Russian side.

      • Wait until you get to higher tiers and face 4-5 T-54s in the enemy team and the rest. I never lost a single confrontation battle in my T-54! Not that I played that much of them though, but it was a pure wipe out against US too.

          • Well, I might have been just lucky and you unlucky. Game mode is too new with very few battles to draw adequate conclusions I think.

  35. This whole HD tanks stuff is a great way to divert conversations about the real problems that should be fixed with this game.
    I personally don’t give a shit how more detailed the tanks will become, it won’t improve gameplay in any way.

  36. last week i was in a T 10 battle with my Type 61 and we also had the ultimate troll platoon:
    E-100 wit two Lol tractors. everyone wished them to the seventh circle of hell and instantly reported them for unfair play which in my view come the closest.

    to my surprise we won the match with 15-10, luckely we had good mediums players like the BC. but still there was little compensation for two T1 tanks.
    they should add a report option that allows for reporting troll platoons at least or recode the game so platoons can not be made or click battle when their matchmaker range doesn’t overlap.

    i like the himmeldorf on ice map but the ruinberg on fire, on my laptop looks almost the same. need to wait to get home in order to check it on my PC which runs on higher settings.

    • Lemme guess. The WT was top dmg maker doing more then 3x the dmg the second dmg maker did and the loltractors had most spotting dmg unless som idiot one shot them in the beginning. Rly, fail/troll platoon…

      PPL need to chill about the troll platoons, you are rly overreacting.
