Test 3 of patch 9.0 started

Hello everyone,

despite the fact the last round of testing of 9.0 was supposed to be the last one, some serious issues and bugs came up and today, another round of the test was started (the patch has 261,78 MB). List of changes is not yet available.

    and the “won’t come” patch that has ZERO relevant content gets delayed and delayed, and then delayed some more, and stuff that was working on one test gets inexplicably horribly broken next patch…. #legit #developmentgoodpractice

    at this rate we’ll have havok physics by christmas!, on v 9.2! yay!.

    this patch is turning out to be more an annoyance than anything else:
    1) it will be HUGE
    2) a couple redesigned maps, ok
    3) having to download AAAAALLL my mods again
    4) all my beautiful custom skins will be broken due to the HD models(of tanks i dont have nor will have) and skinners will take FOREVER to fix them -if they’ll fix them in the first place, records show that some lazy skinners dont’ even fix them for the normal remodels- i’ll guess i’ll have to hack the client files so that i can DISABLE the hd models per-tank

      • if the stuff gets broken beyond playable levels i’ll probably will until they get fixed properly(meaning, the real 9.0 patch with havok and the full soviet, french HD hightier line)

        HD doesn’t bother me(and i coudn’t give less of a shit about the GF comparisons), as long as it’s for good tanks, not the shit they’ve released which i don’t have or care about.

        so a patch that has content i give a fuck about and will broke the skins will piss me off as it doesn’t improve my game in the slightest but does bring not only the usual patch pains(broken mods) but makes it worse by breaking skins at large….

        • Why do you use skins for tanks you dont play? Pointless… If you are interested in those tanks appearance enough to download skins…you should be happy about their new models…. they will look much better.
          Shit? I think all those tanks are good….mostly legends…. I like Tiger, Hellcat…i like Panther too and Tortoise is my next research ..Centurion 7 same…… Probably i will not play M103 anytime soon but i like its new model either…because I need to shot them very often with my JayTee. so i will shot nicer M103s :) Much nicer than old models with some fan made skins…

          I dont use mods so I can be happy about all new stuff in the game ….
          And yesss…i forgot non-HD panzer IV… those schurzens will raise its badassness :))

      QQ moar about your custom skins. You can fix them yourself instead of complaining about OTHER people not fixing them. It’s really not so hard to open photoshop (or GIMP if you don’t want to pay/pirate PS) and redo the skins. And yes I know this from experience.

        it is hard to fix skins when they probably changed ALL the mapping and stuff, it’s already hard enough with the current remodels.

        • That is correct, for all YOU care. But there are more people out here who might very well care about that new battlemode, people who like the subject of, oh I don’t know, driving WW2 tanks into their respective battles without fantasy modules and blueprint tanks and plain inventions by WG and stuff…
          Rendering system, 9+ HD models, battle mode, map changes, new garages, slight interface overhaul. That is quite some content. I’d rather have them make 5 test iterations then having some buggy mess on the live servers.

          • all it was important about 9.0 that was promised was havok physics, new spotting system, new physics, some OP tank rebalance, rest?, fluff…, MAAAAYBE the hd models, but all the interesting core gameplay stuff got cut out.

            and no, HB is hardly relevant, not useful for competition nor high-end gameplay

              ALso for being part of the “elite” of WoT, you sure cant read ehh? Physics and spotting and the rest WERE NOT promised for 9.0. They were promised for 2014!

    • On the MOD issue, I created a Mod Loader that easily enables/disables mods and makes sure that your res folder is NEVER touched(and is backed up for good measure).

      It’s also 9.0 ready (verified on the test server)

      • Spudman, i’m using JGSME so far it’s working(have to understand its simplicity first can be somewhat tricky and it’s very powerful), i’ll take a look at your mod loader.

        hmm “legal” mods… dont really care about the “legality”(from their totally arbitrary definition of that from wg) but i’ll be keeping an eye on the reddit thread, did it for 8.11 and it was very useful

      3. Nobody really cares. i play without any mods and im capable of being quite green guy. What about you mr potato or mr “oh noes i cant enter the battle cuz mey modz crashed da game”. i see alot of that kind of people on the server.

  3. Am I the only one who takes break from WoT starting 9.0 ?

    IMHO this whole “patch” looks like unfinished …
    I mean,.. this will be added later, that will come after 9.2, that will come in 2014, …
    There are changes planned for hist.battles soon, etc.
    Only 10 or so tanks reworked, screw it, lets release it…

    I mean.. it looks like they have the whole patch ready for 10% and they are already releasing it.

    I personally would rather wait till they got all the tanks finished and then release all of them at once…
    Not like this.. you start a battle and 5 tanks in ultra super HD deluxe, rest looks like crap from nintendo,
    IDK, to me it really looks like they dont hve time to finish it, but have to release “at least something”..

    I really feel like taking break and come back in 10 months or so when the “famous” 9.0 will be finished..hopefully.

      • 1) Players ask for developer news.
        2) WG obliges and provides upcoming features that will be added in 2014, makes nice movies
        3) People ignore the part where they say “this year” or interpret that to mean “next patch”
        4) Test comes out with only some of the announced features (for 2014)
        5) Players constantly whine and complain that every feature announced for the year wasn’t in the first patch.

        I am beginning to wish they hadn’t announced anything at all. Then everyone would be overjoyed at how nice the new HD tanks look, excited to go and try to blow off someone’s turret, etc.

  7. if i remember correctly, Storm said HD models will be optional. i’d be glad because my hdd is a frikin 150GB overall… no space for 60gb tonks

  10. Even with this patch all I’m trying to figure out how to get my panther/m10 to work in historical battles. They said it should be usable, My Leo 1 crew needs to be able to commit historical war crimes.

    • you will know how your computer will behave with next patch before you will be forced to download it and say fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!

      you can also check out tanks that you haven’t reached yet, also check out any new feature introduced in advance!

  12. i have a question regarding the addition of the new tier 4 tanks. if i own the tier 5 do i get the tier 4 with slot and crew or do i get nothing?

  13. World of Patches? more like World of Bugs. Fix the damn bugs before you release anymore content. From all the bugs I hear that are in 9.0, I would rather they delayed 9.0 further (Lets us keep Karl longer) until they fixed the bugs for 9.0.

    8.11 is bugged enough. Atm I don’t really care if 9.0 comes out soon or not. I’d rather play a game with few bugs than a game that is all bugs and very little game-play.
