T-62A “Sport”

Hello everyone,

the “football mode” for the duration of the FIFA World Cup has been confirmed and in 9.1 test, a vehicle was added, that will be used for this mode. It’s T-62A “Sport” and here are its characteristics.

It looks like the classic T-62A, so don’t expect any wild paintjobs (might come later)

There are however significant differences. For one, it’s a tier 1 vehicle and it has 999 armor. For all intents and purposes, it’s indestructible. Forward speed has been increased from 50 to 60 km/h and the engine has 1500hp. The gun is a special SPORT version of the U-8TS firing only HE shells, so I am pretty sure shooting one another won’t be a part of the game.

My guess? Something like players pushing a Leichttraktor or something around to get it between the goalposts.

  3. so if you want to participate in football game mode, you will get one of these, whether you have T-62a researched or not?

    Edit: about the ball, I think you got HE shells so you will shot the ball, and it will bounce, just what I think

  4. Now watch them accidentally replace T-62A in normal mode with this.

  5. I think they will add an actual football ball. And as for the armor, shells.. maybe they will just leave us the option to de-track each other C:

    Nah. Since you only have HE shells, my guess is that there will be a ball. That you shot with HE and the splash damage will send it in what ever direction. If the ball leaves the field it will most likely be reset. Just makes more sense as pushing even a tier 1 tank would take a while.

      Like shooting a tin can down the alley with your rifle…

      Unless its just a “ram the ball and each other”, and the HE shells are just for “fun”… and critical hitting the enemy drivers…

  7. As fun as this mode sounds, I can’t help but feel that they have better things to focus on than this. Meh, my 2 cents.

  9. I rather have a KV-1S with same config……I want the 8degrees of gun depression instead of -5 on T-62A (ryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  10. I’m fairly sure the HE shells are for tracking the guy who’s pushing the ball. 100 mm HE won’t deal any kind of damage to the rest of the tank if it’s got 999 armor.

    • Yes, only tracks can be damaged: ,,Vehicles cannot be damaged, but their tracks can be damaged. Victory conditions: score 3 goals or be in the lead at the end of the match.”; The match will be 5 minutes long and the map will be Himmelsdorf (,,Fight an intense battle to win the Himmelsdorf Сhampionship!”)

  11. Funny that me and my mates always call the KV1s the KV1-sport, this one looks a bit more athletic though

  13. I think they gonna make a football gake with a stock AMX 40 turrt as ball. They might have tooled with the ball in the game mechanics (in one ASAP Havok video they showed the ammorack-turret feature and in early developement when u shot it, it would fly many meters in the sky. They might have done this with the ball-turret, but then like 50% fix, so it will behave like a normal kick on a ball)

  14. 999 armour. That’s nearly a meter, going to be pretty cramped for the crew.
