    - Hellcat and Jackson engine sounds returned to the ones in 9.0
    - returned the tank explosions from 9.0

NOOOOOOOOOOO! :’( (Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader level of NOOOOOO!)

        • But… but, we were told from the start that some of these were just implemented in the test client for initial impressions. So what exactly is it that is confusing?

          • Considering it’s still a TEST SERVER (one of the purposes being gathering feedback for changes), and they’ve said multiple times that the sounds have had a generally positive reception, maybe they’ve rolled it back to see the playerbase’s reaction?

    • I could be wrong, but as far as i remember, the new engine sounds were just a part of an experiment, the developers wanted to see how players like them. These were not meant to be in the final release version of 0.9.1. Of course, there was a lot of positive feedback on these new engine sounds, so i guess we can expect these to come to the live servers sooner or later, ( hopefully sooner… ) together with some other new engine sounds maybe.

        • I did read it…
But they sound so finished… so good…
I mean I am sure maybe a little bit more work can be done, always is possible.
          But… I had hope…
          And the crushed it.

          • honestly, the hellcat sound was terrible when in sniper mode.
            3rd person was awesome!

But try to go to sniper mode and drive forward!

            This sound:
            “ck-ck-ck-ck-ck-ck-ck-ck-ck-ck-ck-ck-ck-ck-ck”

    • At the begining they said that the engine sounds where just tests and will not come in 9.1 release.
I think gun sounds will make a come back in 9.1 release since they advertised it in ASAP video.

The next patch is definetely not 9.x material, at best it is 9.0.5 nothing more.

      • the engine sounds are coupled with the guns sounds and they both calculated and created on the server per player/per battle so it’s very tasking on the servers to do real time sounds, maybe in the future they will cache them per battle.

  3. This is why we can’t have nice things.

Every time there is good change; some retard whines and WG rolls it back.
It was sound this time, before, it was T29 and Hellcat well-deserved nerf.

    • You can call me a retard all day long if you want to, but those new shooting sounds were clearly not ready for a release. I admit that most of the changes were actually really good. The turret sounds, the muffling, the way you could hear shots and explosins at distance, those things are real improvements, and helped to make the game feel a bit more “real”, i guess. But the thing is, if you want to set up a system like that, you can’t afford half-assing it, by adding pretty much the same sound to all the guns. They need to record more samples first, add them to the system, then add the whole thing alltogether to the game. And then you won’t end up half the playerbase hating on the changes.

      • yes, the sounds were good for example on 90mm and lower.
but in tier X match, every tank had the same sound. be it batchat, E100, fv183, leopard, …
No variety in 120mm -170mm what so ever.

It was a good direction but it was definitely half-done. Seemed very unprofessional.

        • They put the new shooting sounds into the test, because they wanted to know how we’d like them, they actually never stated anywhere that they are even close to the final stages.

I suppose they want to improve the sounds based on the impressions and reports of the playerbase.

I liked the way how the sounds had this simple “poof” (yet a bit overly muffled) instead of this “crackabingbingbooooom”, which I am used to from Gnomefathers mod. The new distant shots sound just outstanding though.

  4. To those who are booo-ing after the removal of Hellcat and Jackson engine sounds, they’re there in 9.1 T1 for testing (so that they could continue after the general direction is well liked rather than creating every new sounds and getting negative feedback in the end). I guess they’ll add them once they got more (in similar production method) engine sounds for wider selection of tanks. Don’t worry, the feedback about this is almost 100% positive and WG knows about it.

  5. shooting sounds meh not really care bout them listen hardcore/hardstyle while playing wot so wont hear it very much after all…
but WHY you remove the AWSOME explosions? i liked it

    - fixed the quick FPS drop when switching to the sniper mode while having other than maximum landscape settings set

Brace yourself!!! WG FIXING LAG AGAIN!!! pls WG dont fuck it up like u did in 9.0

  6. - returned the 9.0 shooting sounds
    - Hellcat and Jackson engine sounds returned to the ones in 9.0
    - returned the tank explosions from 9.0

dafuq? Didn’t played the test but from what I saw on youtube the new sounds were nice.

Did someone saved then and made it like a sound mod? (like gnomefather’s historical gun sounds for example)

    • strange thing is, these 3 features were the only thing that was new in 9.1. Oh, and one new map.

So right now, it looks like 9.1 will be basically 9.0 with one new map.

  7. ‘- returned the 9.0 shooting sounds’

WG you fail so much. The new sounds were 10x better and you’ve given in to the whiners just like you did with arty. Grow some balls and develop the game like you want.

  8. Then wtf is this so called “major patch ” about ? Return of the old faithfull ? Because as of now what it offers could be included into a quick fix patch .

  9. I agree they should removed the sound, either come out with an complete 100% realistic sound with suspension and turret movement along with the gun and engine sound or just stay Hollywood.

      • Not a kid but an adult historical tank supporter, I am also not a brain dead WOT fanatic. If there are better historical game out there I will play it not stay in WOT if it is unsatisfying.

  10. “- returned the 9.0 shooting sounds
    - Hellcat and Jackson engine sounds returned to the ones in 9.0
    - returned the tank explosions from 9.0

So they are removing everything they added.
And fixing bugs that do not exist on live 9.0, they only existed in test 9.1 :D
    :D :D :D :D :D

So here are 9.1 live patch notes:
    -added 1 map.
-changed version number from 9.0 to 9.1

    • In before:
      1.0.0 estimated release date: 2025.
0.9.26 Patch note: Roll back to 8.11 client (last stable version).
0.9.25 Patch note: Fix for 0.9.24

      Stronk programming. :D

  11. >> – added the support of 5:4 screen ratio

    FFS, why???

Why support obsolete, non-ergonomic and non-physiological aspect ratios and resolutions? Just add black top and bottm stripes on everything besides 1.78…
And, it is about unfair advantage because of such distorted FOV too.

    • Are you seriously against a basic feature that should be in every game by default?
There is no unfair advantage, because the camera angle is not locked.

      • I AM serious. Let me explain:
5:4 most likely means old 1280×1024 screen, so this serves as our example. Reasonable guess is that it is connected to an OLD and WEAK GPU in old computer.
        1.25(5:4) 1280×1024=1 310 720pixels, while at the same width
        1.78(16:9) 1280×720=921 600pixels, which means
389.120pixels difference – mainly useless pixels, rendering some ground and sky, puttting strain on your gpu (remember, weak and old) and messing with your FOV as a side effect.
This strain is ~42% more than 1,78 value (that’s what you lose), or ~30% less than 1,25 value (that’s what you gain, if you “lower” your resolution to 1,78 on your old screen). And no, it won’t hurt your gameplay, it actually helps your gameplay because you get proper wide perspective without useless parts rendered, while reducing significantly strain on GPU (remember, ~30%).

1.25 aspect ratio puts you rather at disadvantage than advantage – but it’s still unfair to all players that are not aware and do not tinker in options heavily themselves.

        • nixxxie, ffs, this isn’t so hard to understand and has nothing to do with video cards or wide screen resolutions – I suppose, if 70% of RU playerbase has very weak and old computers, then the same 70% of them have 17 or 19 inch LCD monitors, bought in the same old days, which ALL had 5:4 aspect ratio and 1280×1024 resolution.
This means, that up until today most of those players should have played the game with some no-native resolution, which looks totally terrible on LCD monitors. It isn’t so, that you can play the game in non-deformed wide screen resolution on your 5:4 monitor.
So, this is a very welcome addition but comes at least 3 years late. :)

          • You can play in window mode. And you get widescreen aspect ratio (some, minimum vertical is 768) and less GPU strain – only it’s “window” and majority won’t bother.

  12. Fucking whiners! Now the whine about why you removed the sounds, why, oh why, stupid WG, bring back the sounds. WG should stop listening to players seeing as most of them are whinny morons. /end rant

  13. *deep sigh* …. I am completely flabbergasted about how they forget to post the changes, EVERY SINGLE TIME they release a patch… WG, CAN YOU PLEASE GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND UNDERSTAND WE NEED TO KNOW THE CHANGES… NOOBS!!!

(thanx SS for the translation. Lucky to have you around)

  14. Does this mean we get 9.1 on live servers next week? I really hope it comes fast.. it’s ridiculous how many people have FPS issues. This game has millions of people playing all over the world at the same time and they can’t even fix their fps issues within a month. That’s laughable.

  15. - fixed the bug where the map took too long to load on low graphic settings

oh now that explains why i lose 45-75 sec out of matches on some maps!

  16. 5:4 aspect ratio is bugged. You can select it in the garage but once you’ve entered the battle it randomly changes to 16:9 or 16:10. Also there’s no 5:4 aspect ratio in the list once you’re in the battle.

  17. - fixed the quick FPS drop when switching to the sniper mode while having other than maximum landscape settings set

    I hope it’s true.

    - added the support of 5:4 screen ratio

WTF? Support for square screens has been here since the game’s first beta. Maybe they meant removed… in that case: http://nooooooooooooooo.com/

    • 1) It’s true. Works like a charm. Tested it myself.
      2) They have added 5:4, not removed it.

  18. **********ATENTION 9.1 GUN SOUND REMOVAL WHINERS!**********

Now please, don’t take the above sentence as an insult. The 1st test patch of 9.1 gun sounds was A TEST(!) of the new sounds, and the devs wanted user input to see if they need to change them at all or modify them to the user liking before the full release.

I’m sure they need to rework them a bit, there will be some changes and they will return probably in 9.1 test 3, if there will be a 3rd test of it, since this is a BUGFIX & BALLANCING PATCH it is not a priority at the time.

So don’t go all *Darth Vader voice: NOOOOOO!!!!* http://youtu.be/WWaLxFIVX1s because of this. It is still a test, and the end result will always be in the final release notes. But knowing WG EU it’s gonna miss some stuff and our awesome residental bloger Silentstalker will inform us what is missing. :)

Anyway, what ever happens, the sounds are probably gonna be implemented because it’s about time they did change these bullshit sounds with some proper ones. So keep calm and carry on ;)

  19. - fixed the quick FPS drop when switching to the sniper mode while having other than maximum landscape settings set
    ____________________
    Best thing in test2.

  20. - Added Maus in the Bryansk Front HB.
    - Added Conqueror GC in the Tobruk HB.

  21. i dont mind about any removed or not-yet-implemented stuff, but please… make performance like in 8.10
back then i waited 30 sec before battle, now i end up at 14:20, game lags when i shoot, when i move, when i zoom.. it even lags when world of tanks is not running…

  22. - returned the 9.0 shooting sounds
    - Hellcat and Jackson engine sounds returned to the ones in 9.0
    - returned the tank explosions from 9.0

Thats kinda funny. When these kids cries for some cool improvement they don’t like, they change it back. When everyone calls for fixing something, they don’t care.

  23. ” fixed the bug where the resolution setting resetted every time you ran the game in fullscreen mode”
    nope
sometimes screen ratio 16:10 change during the game in 5:4

  24. You can still have new sounds, if you backed up the audio folder before test 2, you can just replace the audio folder now and still have the sounds :D no engines though :(

  25. I didn’t like the new gun sounds anyways. Lets rename 9.1 patch to 9.0 because that’s what it is really
