- these factors are taken into account when rebalancing a vehicle, according to Storm: “winrate, popularity on its tier, skill of players playing it (its distribution), average XP, average damage, average damage stopped by armor – many various indicators” – later, Storm however adds that a vehicle won’t be nerfed based solely on the fact that it is very popular (SS: earlier, Storm stated however that a very popular vehicle is practically always an indicator of that vehicle being imbalanced)
- it’s possible the Ardennes HB that is getting removed in 9.1 will return, but “no promises”
- how the accuracy will be nerfed is not decided yet, developers are running experiments
- T-44-85 has been “postponed for a long time”
- tank models will be reworked also in standard client, not just in HD content, the “HD” concerns only texture resolution
- Havok will work in both SD and HD clients
- increase of the number of old render settings is not planned
- the “Sturer Emil” (short version of the) name has been cut down because it doesn’t fit into the interface
- Tiger nerf? “We will talk about Tiger nerf once it is published and not now”
- players with “calculators” (very poor computers) form a bit less than 50 percent of WoT audience
- it’s possible that the alleged new Nvidia SLI fix doesn’t work for all SLI configurations, Storm states that the only thing they can do is wait for a fix from Nvidia
- the nasty bug, where you see your friends, who are actually online, as offline, will be fixed in 9.1 (SS: *waves at Akcido*)
- Storm states, that it’s possible WoT will reach the amount of details as in Spin Tires, but only when the network possibilities allow it, which will be in 5-7 years
- on future plans in WoT: “We have to rework a lot of content. Without losing the game performance.”
- alleged Windstorm lag issue is not known to the developers, there are no proofs
- Storm, when asked how many people got their Super Pershing during the event: “I don’t think I can disclose that info” (he adds that he has nothing to do with such events)
- Storm states, that it’s possible WoT will reach the amount of details as in Spin Tires, but only when the network possibilities allow it, which will be in 5-7 years
It would be awesome but I don’t know where will be WoT in 5-7 years
WoT in 5-7 years? It will probably exist, but whether there will be any new content for it – that I doubt.
Put all possible/found/created blueprint/fantasy/proposed tanks :D
5~7years latter…all i know is just WoT will fill up my 128GB SSD :(
Maybe Versuchsträger will come too (????
In 5-7 years, you will have a 2 TB SSD. ;)
And 16GB of MRAM.
Probably also at least a GTX 960ti. Although WG might mess up your performance along.
My sister now has 16GB of RAM :P Unless MRAM is something I got no idea about…
http://www.pcmag.com/encyclopedia/term/47324/mram
The problem is that Spin Tires exist now with that awesome graphics and physics but in 5-7 years we will have games with more realistic graphics, WoT would look “old” compared to them.
I love WoT graphic (even if it is not so good and I’m an ultra-graphics lover) and I think it will be a lot better than WT (where textures actually sucks) but they must move on especially on physics that is ridicolous, on WoT (and horrible in WT…)
If game keeps its popularity than the graphics will keep improving. Look at WoT year ago and now. 2 years ago and now – there is major difference. They’ll switch to dx11 in a year too, so that would allow them to improve graphics quite a bit without sacrificing performance.
“textures suck in WT”
are you an imbecile? or one of the persons who uses a calculator to play video games?
Dear Kinderschlager try to look WT models closer and you will see there are ridicolous textures.
I run everything on Ultra with a GTX 770 and I’m not an imbecile, I know what I’m saying.
WT has only good effects like the ambient occlusion and better light effects than WoT but try to compare the textures of a model in WT and an HD tank in WoT and you will see that the mud in WT is made of pixels like potatoes as the metal.
WT is only more detailed than WoT, for now.
Have a detailed armor models and penetration calc system for a lot of tanks?
Only one possible way to go => “realistic” STEEL PANTHERS! :)
maybe not content, but a different experience. I think by then we all will be playing games on Google glasses or 3D virtual reality glasses of some kind.
i think storm is optimistic, it will take more then 10 years, hack maybe even 20 years.
we all know that WoT is the greatest technological achievement of Human kind, our children or maybe their children will see the wonder and awe of Spin Tires.
In 5-7 years wot will be using the same ancient engine it is using today…
In 5-7 years I really hope WoT will be able to fully make use of my PC from 2013 (6c/12t @ 4GHz, 24GB RAM, GTX Titan 6GB).
Network speeds in Estonia are sweet (I’m on a 100Mbit/100Mbit home line), and probably by 2019 we will have 1Gbit connections.
akcido – little “a”, carramba – little “c”… Silent learn how it finally :))))
How terrible… :)
- the “Sturer Emil” (short version of the) name has been cut down because it doesn’t fit into the interface
In WoT, the “Sturer Emil” is called Pz.Sfl. V. Does Storm means this alternative designation when he says “name has been cut down”?
It’s now supposed to be shorter. Not sure how it looks.
Makes me wonder, too… Made some changes to tank names in my XVM :P .
Damn them, DON’T TOUCH MY TIGER l!!
If thats how you call it :D
I call it as I see it
“- these factors are taken into account when rebalancing a vehicle, according to Storm: “winrate, popularity on its tier, skill of players playing it (its distribution), average XP, average damage, average damage stopped by armor – many various indicators” – later, Storm however adds that a vehicle won’t be nerfed based solely on the fact that it is very popular (SS: earlier, Storm stated however that a very popular vehicle is practically always an indicator of that vehicle being imbalanced)”
TL-DR-
Historical accuracy subject to being completely disregarded in favor of “balance”.
I’d really like it if they fixed the “stopped by armor” mechanic. It used to be “potential damage received”, and you just payed attention to the number of non-penetrations.
Since 8.11 ( I think) they broke the system for armor efficiency because it doesn’t take bounces into account. Had a game the other night in my Jag E100, bounced 11 shots but post battle results only showed like 500 damage “blocked by armor”. Uh, excuse me, those were tier 10 tanks shooting at me, not panzer 1 C’s.
Result: player’s “armor efficiency” rating is artificially low. Being efficient with your armor doesn’t mean stopping a round dead by pointing your thickest plate at it. Being efficient means you make maximum use of what you have – ya know, by angling and getting auto-bounces from shots that otherwise should have penetrated.
They said there’s a bug that dmg absorbed by tracks is not shown, it will be fixed (in 9.1 I guess).
or damaged absorbed by spaced armor
Which that TD has a fair bit of. :P
Just a hint for you Guys: WoWp released Version 1.4 and they have the HD/SD client switch implemented.
So if you are interested how it will work/look in Wot you can see for yourself there.
I tested it with the SD version and i saved around 4 GB in client size. Graphics settings where set to the highest SD setting (which is medium) and it runs at 35+fps
- on future plans in WoT: “We have to rework a lot of content. Without losing the game performance.”
I would be nice if there’s a way to HD the tanks without doubling or more the client size.
abrakadabra
avada kedavra
Expecto… PETRONUM!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been doing Tournaments and WGLNA and I can tell you RNG is a significant factor in winning or losing. Thus the accuracy nerf – ok – but it is already broken – so does this mean it will be more broken?
It’s more to do with making the accurate tanks better, while making those tanks who have poor accuracy as a balancing factor (mainly Russian tanks, come to mind).
Honestly, if it is done well, one could possibly see more tanks in the WGLNAs. Which would be awesome, given that tier 8 is rather balanced.
I doubt it, since autoloaders are the most WGL tanks it would change nothing, autoloaders have long aimtimes their accuracy is actually quite okay. USSR tanks have terrible accuracy but are used for their armour while the Object 416 has great accuracy again.
All in all Indien, STA-1, centurion, type 59, panther II will all not make an introduction all of a sudden due to the accuracy nerf. Of course the T-44 will never get WGL because of it’s terrible DPM and leglectable armour superiority over other tier 8′s ( other than the type 59 )
If anything we will see more T-32 instead of IS-3, which already are being used…
Windstorm not confirmed to have buggy/long loading? How many people need to point that out for it to become “acknowledged”? It’s more likely they are playing dumb just to avoid dealing with the issue… after all, they don’t have to do anything about it until they actually admit the problem exists…
- Storm states, that it’s possible WoT will reach the amount of details as in Spin Tires, but only when the network possibilities allow it, which will be in 5-7 years
So WG see its shadow and we have 5 to 7 more years of Telia. Oh Grand!
Just how long is that network contact that WG signed for?
No wonder it will take 5-7 years. We still havent got Havok yet. By then WoT will probably go with modern tanks.
Cant wait for Armored Warfare btw.
Well, given that the terrain changes by vehicles (one of the big things in Spin Tires) is server-side, that’d be some serious network/server usage. so 5-7 years is probably a reliable number.
Be cool if they had those features, though. Divots from arty, mud/sand/dirt flying EVERYWHERE. Maybe even the ability to kill by burial. :P
- T-44-85 has been “postponed for a long time”
So, basically cancelled.
” – T-44-85 has been “postponed for a long time ”
they have the model working , you can see it on tank inspector, its a case of Shut up and take My money!
, but they wont release it :P
Well when we consider that Havok physics are coming “soon” and that the KV-1S nerf/rebalance/split is coming “very soon”…
Was good knowing you, T-44-85.
Does someone know what SD literally stands for? ‘Simple Detail’ or what?
Wouldn’t it make more sense to call it LD (Low Definition or Low Detail) instead opposed to High Detail/Definition Client?
Standard-Definition
Ahhh … of course! Thanks.
now that they got a big old new building, I say we ALL stop playing for 30 days..
on a side note, I preferred when storm chimed in every once in awhile, with SerB being the main person who communicated. Storm seem like some hypocrite that only does what he thinks will piss off the masses..
I got my Super Pershing in about 16 ays idk.
At first i decided to grind 3k xp per country per day… than x5 days came and i completed most of them :D (USSR, US and German in 3 days). After x5 days there were only 2 countries left to finish the grind on them
I have also unlocked some nice tanks during that event.
I hope next years event will be similar to this one.
I think they deserve this : Thank You WG
- how the accuracy will be nerfed is not decided yet, developers are running experiments

Despite the fact that russian tanks became snipers(KV-Ass) i really liked the improved accuracy since 8.6. Now why the fuck would they nerf it again. It will only create more RNG bullshit misses. It’s not like tanks in WoT are not “inaccurate” enough with sigma spread now they want to reverse it to the old even more retarded accuracy. I realize that accuracy is one of the things they use to balance tanks, but ffs tanks irl could score hits at 2km away with precision and here tanks misses eachother at 100m because RNG breh.
True that. Every nation excelled in one specific point.
8.8cm L/56 had like 0.2m spread on 1000m, in WoT it has 3.8m if I’m not mistaken and now it gets even worse.
meanwhile you can snipe at 1.2KM with a t34/85 in WTGF and it’s glorious!
Totally agree
- Storm states, that it’s possible WoT will reach the amount of details as in Spin Tires, but only when the network possibilities allow it, which will be in 5-7 years
WTF are spin tires?
Google has the answer.
When they talk about accuracy – are they talking about arty?
