Russian player (LJ user) crack_usaf was kind enough to save the Test 1 (new) gun sounds for us. Sadly, the Hellcat/Jackson engine sound is not available. You can get the gun sounds here.
Installation is rather problematic – I tried to simply use them as a mod (add them to the res_mods/0.9.0/audio folder), which kinda deleted pretty much all the old sounds (I heard only gunfire). I don’t think that’s right and I am not sure they work in the 0.9.0, better to wait for 0.9.1 with their installation I think.
I think you have to add all the normal sounds to the res_mods folder including the mod so it works…
yeah indeed, this mod behavior is normal. the reason why they dont include all sound files to avoid this problem is to save bandwidth
Yes, first copy all sounds, then add the modded ones. That is how it always worked.
No, you need not only the sounds but also the scripts.

An easier method is to make a backup of the res/audio folder and then copy the new sounds into the res/audio folder and overwrite the original files.
Meh, i stay with TisBack Gunsounds atm.. to me the best so far..

I downloaded your sound pack.
I copied original audio to res_mods folder, then I added into it audio from your pack. (and overwrote conflicts)
And finally I added scripts from your pack to res_mods folder.
Did I forget to do anything else? Seems like it’s working just want to be sure if I am gonna do that again. Thanks for your answer.

2. Use DIYModLoader as it copies all your audio for you when it detects a mod with sound files.

they don’t work in 9.0, duh.. they added the echo sounds.. and in 9.0 there are none.. so wait for 9.1 and then copy them.. they will work.
A EU player also did it.

read the gnomefather’s gun sounds mod instructions, it tells you what you need to do to fix everything.
Some of the mod folders are a little odd where you have to replicate the entire folder or it doesn’t work properly. The audio folder is one of these.
Why they didn’t just make them like many of the other folders where you can have a single file in the mods folder and then it picks up the normal files is beyond me. WG logic.

I just installed version 9.1 and I only played a couple matches in the VK2800, am I wrong if I say the sounds have been updated in this version after all? The gun in this machine sounds different, it is better. So what is the story? Did the change the sounds at the end?
