Hello everyone,
Martintramvajak recently visited the well-known Czech army event at the military museum at Lešany. I wasn’t there, so I couldn’t take any photos, but luckily, he did. Here they are. This time, I think it’s not needed to add any descriptions – see how many vehicles will you guess :) There will also be a second part (with description) of some other goodies, that can be found over there…
Looks like it was fun despite high temperatures in Europe
Googled “Rough Rider” description from one of pics and found some interesting story http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rough_Riders
Greenpeace gona hate
Why? Almost all the vehicules are green and they fought for/maintain peace?
But they’re being held captive! They should be left to roam free, not forced to work in this circus for our amusement!
?!? Pink T-34?
more IS or T-43 i guess
It’s an IS-2.
IS2-M to be exact(wot equivalent of the IS-2 Chinese heavy), notice the sloping of the upper glacis, it doesn’t have the “step” that the normal IS2(or, in wot, IS russian heavy) has
IS-2….

T-34? T-43??? not even close, those had Christie suspension which looks totally different.
It’s clearly an IS-2 and by the way the T-43 was just a prototype it’s probably not exist anymore.
Shame on you! :)

Famous tank number 23, which as the first entered Prague in the last days of war and becomes a symbol of soviet help for Prague uprising. (In real it was T-34/85, but after the war leaders decide that IS-2M will look more “mighty”). After the Velvet revolution one well-known Czech artist and performer painted this tank to a pink as a reminiscent of Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1968. Tank was repainted to the military green and performer was punished. That time the whole thing become political. Some politicians demonstrative repainted the tank again to the pink.
Then the authorities moved the tank to the museum as a part of two historical eras – war and velvet revolution.
Kiev has something similar, a T34-85 meant to be the first tank into the city when it was liberated, even though the T34-85 design wouldn’t be formalised for at least another month. I couldn’t bring myself to tell my host.

DANA. Zuzana is a slovak long-life upgrade.
Dodge WC 52 3/4 t behind the Kubelwagen, Dodge WC ambulance behind on the far left, Bedford truck in the back on the left,Two REO M35 trucks in the back on the right
That is not a Kübelwagen. It is a Schwimmwagen, the amphibious version.
