Hello everyone,
Russian World of Tanks portal showed a few interesting photos from the Engines of War 2014 (Моторы войны — 2014) military meeting, exhibition and re-enactment spot, that took place last weekend near the village of Ivanovo. Check this out:
OT-34 (SU-100 and Katyusha rocket launcher in the background)
A flamethrower version of the T-34 medium tank. This is the rare tank Yuri Pasholok fell from by the way :) I doubt there are more than like three in the world.
German Sdkfz 251 halftrack
Reenactor camp
SU-100 and other tech
Japanese Ha-Go light tank
“For the Reichstag”
Soviet T-38 amphibious tankette
“Barbarossa” re-enactment
US military expert The_Chieftain also participated…
Whats that DUKW-like car behind Ha-Go?
and Jesus, The Chieftain is tall.
he is a yankie cowboy too :P
It’s A Ford GPA, another LL vehicle.
Why do the Russian troops appear to be wearing German helmets?
Ah.
On Helmet, after close inspection no, they different. The ear flaps quite different from Germans.

That’s actually a GAZ-46. Basically a Ford GPA Soviet style, made on GAZ-69 chassis. (the jeep standing behind the truck on pic number 3)
He’s Irish.
But yeah – tall bastard.

Something like that is placed on some places in new WOT Kharkov map and gives you a big NOPE when you try to crash it. In other words – OP!
“For the Reichstag”
That sounds like Germans would use them (you know, like the “For the King and the country!”).
I think “po” in this case means, that they will fly TO the Reichstag or will be shot AT the Reichstag.
Translating these things literally is always problematic. “Po Reichstagu” really means “at the Reichstag” (as in “to be thrown at the Reichstag”), but just “at the Reichstag” makes no sense in English – at it what? That’s why I translated it as a “christmas present”, like when Americans wrote “for Hitler” on their bombs.
Yea, makes sense :)
Pochta pa vozduchu :D
Ontopic: it should be ”for Reichstag”, because now it sounds like ”for the Motherland”, “for the win”, “for the Horde!”, etc.
“To Reichstag”?
What they should have written is “From Russia with Love”
That book wasn’t written until after the war.
Picture of flamethrower T-34 is missing.
I see it just fine o.O It’s the first picture, the description refers to the picture above it.

Bet its an OT-810…
“Barbarossa” re-enactment
Whats a late model 251 doing in 1941 :P
Nitpicker! :P
Why can’t you just enjoy the pics like the rest of us? :)
It pretends to be historical reenactment right? Im not 251 version expert but it’s not so hard to replace MG42 with MG34 ;)
The half-track is a reenactor, too.
Indeed it is an OT-810, one would have thought SS would have noticed.

Yea, because we surely had chance to recognise this…
chief looks really funny wearing headphones under his hat :D
And that was the last time our T-34 and SU-100 were seen before being transfered to Ukraine.
