Storm Confirms: “Light T-54″ will be Soviet LT8

Hello everyone,

so, the info, leaked earlier, is true.

Storm confirmed that the LTTB will be Soviet tier 7 light tank (funnily enough, the Russians, including Storm, call it LGBT), because on tier 8 it would be completely unhistorically stretched. And so, the tier 8 Soviet light tank will indeed be the “light T-54″.

Tier 8 Soviet premium medium tank will according to Storm be a “T-54 prototype”.

T-54′s for the T-54 god!

  1. Oh well, WT will have 3 T-54s in it’s regular techtree,
    so I guess SerB decided that no “foreign” game will beat WoT!

    • I don’t care, T-54′s are awesome! I only wish that WG would put a T-55 turret on one Russian vehicle, because they look much more awesome.

    • So the post to say Light T-54 will be regular t8 light ended up in tears because “oh my god we were waiting for a t8 prem med for such a long time, WG you idiots” and now they have the T-54 prot confirmed as T8 prem med and there is all that whine because “oh my god too much T-54 in the game”.

      Seriously guys? Be at least coherent…

      • Well, to be fair, 3 T-54s is getting a bit too much. And let us not mention the Chinese replicas.

      • I would be perfectly fine with the “light T-54″ as tier 8 prem, worse gun, less armor, not that hard to deal with, ok.
        But making 3 T-54s out of the sudden, that’s a bit too much indeed. Look at how people whine that the T-62A and Obj-140 are basically the same, now there will be 2 more T-54s in the game at tier 8. Variety of gameplay my ass

          • Many of those aren’t direct clones of T-54. I’d count SU-122-54 before most of your list, as it uses T-54 chassis.

            Also, 113 and 121 have no WZ-name. Just the numbers.

            • Difference is Panthers are hardly as well armored as T-54′s. I hate those damn things bouncing my shells everywhere.

  10. So we have 6 Renault FT’s in Tier1-2, we already have 3 kinda similar RU T10 meds and now in Tier 8-9 we will have shitloads of T-54′s.. mkey :-|

    • As it stands now, they could uncouple the MT-25 from the KV-13 and have it lead to LTTB, which would in turn lead to LT T-54, instead. That’s what I’m expecting.

      But Supertesters haven’t said anything on that yet AFAIK. Could be that they have no place in the tech tree yet.

    • Those are expected to be MT-25 successors, now that the LTTB found its place as tier 7 – there was a problem earlier when it was planned as overbuffed thing just to put it on Tier 8, yet the T7 candidate was missing so there was an empty space between T6 light and T8 light.

    Hull armour: 120/90/45
    Turret armour: 150/120/75
    good hull but terrible turret

  18. Current T9 T54 with 120 mm frontal armor already is T54 PROTOTYPE. Serial models had only 100 mm frontal armor,

    • The ingame T-54′s hull and stock turret looks like 1947/48 prototypes, there are 1945/46 prototypes as well.

  20. I dont know if is good or bad as scout…. new scouts in 9.3 are sons of the new game situation… they are big with excellent weapons for a light and good vision range… pure pasive scouts with options to do some short active scouting job.

    The soviet lights are more nerfed meds than lights for example the tier 7 looks like a T-43 wiht a little less armor… fun is weapon… we could find the tier 7 light better armed than tier 7 meds but more movile and the armor diference doesnt looks critical.

    LT 54 is another fun tank because is going to be not a lot worst in armor compared with T-44 (if his armor is not better… lets see bouncility) but with better movility and maybe same gun but camo bonus… i dont know why peope in the other post see it as a bad light, in pasive is going to be superior to the failpanther and with his armor is going to be capable to engage tier 8 tanks… maybe i find now T-44 even more obsolete, i think they need find a T-44 substitute and move it to premium line… or maybe buff it, for example with a new 100mm gun with extra pen (and better aiming time) and made it more agile, not fast, T-44 needs be a more agresive med.

    Is hard balance light line because WG with same tiny maps and 300-400m long range combats needs introduce fighter scouts over pure scouts.

    • I didn’t see any word about armor thickness when use google translate.

Not bad stats… over the other lights tier 8 but nto a lot to be a problem for meds tier 8… with this armor stats, a good mobility and a good gun i dont see it as a bad scout… support scout like WZ or pasive job as all tier 8 scouts… maybe lacks active spotting but is a long time missed mission for scouts in top tier battles.
