Tank Inspector Pro is Coming

Hello everyone,

you already probably know about the Tank Inspector software, a really good model viewer combined with a data sheet for each vehicle in the game. Very nice for leaking supertest info checking the tanks out, especially their armor models.

It’s Chinese creators haven’t ceased to develop new versions, that is known, but what you probably don’t know is that they are currently working on an upgraded Tank Inspector Pro version, with more functions. This is how its interface will look (fully customizable using plugins).

overview

This is the tank spreadsheet as a document, which will be possible to export (in cvs format) and copy for example to your site. The page is fully customizable, you can set which data you want to see.

stats

It will also be possible to compare two tanks, or one tank with different crew/equipment setups. It will also be possible to compare the same tank within different versions of the game, including the differences in armor setup.

comparison

The program will include a XML viewer tool for studying and editing the XML files in the game.

xml

And this is the client explorer UI, also customizable.

Unfortunately, this upgraded tool will not be for free, there will be a price of 2 USD per month or so, but the developers will continue releasing the free version as well.

      • He is actually right. In late january this year Tank Insepector stopped working for me – could not connect to server. I investigated and received an email from my ISP saying that there was a big DDOS attack from China to Europe and further and in order to solve this, those domains were blocked with sinaapp.com being one of them. As a result, quite a bit of European ISPs have this domain blocked.

I even told SS about it, he said hes gonna ask them, but he either did not care or he received no answer from them.

        • everything is working fine, just uninstall your version and install a new one.

I trust chinese developers more then russians btw. Chinese steal western technology blueprints from companies but russian steal your privbate bank accounts and money.

          • No, that IP range is blocked. I cant even acces the web page. I did obtain the latest version by other means, but nothing changed.

If my ISP says that domain was a part of a DDOS attack against European and other servers and they blocked it to prevent further attacks, then I am certainly going to believe my ISP rather than some Chinese developers.

            • I admit that DDoS attack thing could be possible. Sinaapp is a local public (and somewhat cheap) cloud service provider, on which many apps are running. It’s out of our duty and ability to respond for other apps’ behaviors. We were not able to pay for better cloud services so it was basically the only choice.
We will consider to migrate our server to other cloud services (e.g. amazon) in the future.

    • A lot of code in your computer and other devices has been coded in India and China for cost purposes. The devices were also likely manufactured in China or elsewhere in East-Asia for the same reason.

    • So you’re saying you don’t use any operating systems? Or at the least Tank Inspector? Since their website literally has “.sinaapp.” in it.

    • Hmm, what is the Chinese equivalent of ‘stronk’?

I would say good luck trying to get people to pay for this. WoT Tank Viewer and various Web sites are more than adequate for all but the most OCD player.

      • WoT Tank viewer doesn’t give you the effective armor at line of sight does it? That’s a huge feature, and you don’t need to be OCD to realize how valuable it is.

    • Its like : its not chinese, it doesnt exist. Nowdays, everything is made in china.

    • 1000x THIS

Google “Baidu IME backdoor” and that’s not the only example neither just the most recent…

  1. Just about any software that has the word “pro” in it would likely mean its a paid app or software

    • Yes, indeed: if you go to their website and select “Pro” in the menu bar at the top, you can read the following:

      -

What We Need & What You Get

If this funding project succeed, we will get an initial capital of $3,000 to launch the development of a new project, Tank Inspector PRO (hereinafter referred to as TIP). Based on the original Tank Inspector, TIP will cover all the existing popular features, and more advanced utilities. The estimated cost of development is 4 man-months. The initial $3,000 will be used to pay part of this cost.

TIP itself will be a service program, users have to subscribe in order to use it. The contributors of this project will get a big discount on the subscription fees.

  2. It will be much easier to compare tanks to each other (so i dont need to make a bunch of screenshots)

    • I got this too. Even has an armor model. Heatmap armor piercing model. Tank model with diff turrets. Tech tree. Wiki description. Historical info. Pretty much everything I need. And unlike tank inspector I don’t have to give them my email address. Let’s face it many idiots use the same password so in giving them that email address, some ppl give em the password for it too.

  3. Ahh, thanks to SS for posting this. I didn’t expect this as the development is in an early stage and most things you see are still preliminary and prone to changing, including the charge part.
Anyway it’s great to hear that people are concerned about it, whatever in positive or negative way.

  4. I thought due to various Terms (and laws) etc that no-one is allowed to charge for anything that uses the WG IP (Intellectual Property, not ISP)…?

This program is directly using the WG data and charging for it…

That is illegal under almost every countrys’ laws unless WG have actually sanctioned it…

..but then again.. this is China..

    …and WG…
