Tank Grote Model

Hello everyone,

not so long ago, I wrote an article about the Tank Grote, which was intended as a premium tank long, long time ago. At this point it is practically certain that this tank will not appear in the game (multiturret design the reason), but (also long time ago) a WoT model was made of this vehicle – that was not published until now I believe.

The tank looks really good. Too bad they can’t make a – I dunno, a single turret version firing the 76mm only with the miniturret as a decoration. For its time, it was a real beast (keep in mind that this thing is a contemporary of Panzer I and Panzer II, pre-dating the Panzer 35t for example). Historically, it’s tier 2 stuff.

  1. Would actually make a great T2 if they finally implement the Multi-Turret mechanism, it does not even look that ugly as the other pre-war multi-turret soviet tank designs. I suppose the rounded shape of the turret and especially the tumor will also make for a few low-caliber bounces. As it also does not look like an especially speedy vehicle, I suppose they will either give it a good gun (current one looks adequate, at least the one in the turret) or even strenghten the armor beyond historical limits.

    • It would be nice to see this balanced as a Tier 4. That way the USSR tree would have a Tier 4 heavy. With the B1, B2 and DW2 as current Tier 4 heavy’s it could fit in nicely i think. Also we already have Churchill 3 and KV-220 as Premium tier 5 Russian heavy’s. Plus we have the KV-1 & KV-1S at tier 5.

      • The only problem is that it’s a one-off tank that frankly just doesn’t fit as a regular vehicle. As a premium, it could work, but if the Soviets were to have a tier 4 heavy, the best option would be the T-35 (possibly as an optional side-grade from the T-28).

    • The T7 combat car is avesome. With the crew at 100% it is one of if not the most enjoyable tank in game. It can take on anything within its tierspread, including T18 sealclubber *pros* that on several occasions yelled in chat “cheater“ or “gold noob“ not knowing this thing can not load any gold ammo XD. A platoon of 3 can roflstomp most opposition in its path without stopping to aim.

      Enter a match in the T7 combar car = instant joy.

      On the other note,,, Grote is tier 4-5 candidate so it is very unlikely it would becomne a gift tank if implemented in game.

    • Te-Ke is practically a nerfed Ha-Go. And LTP is actualy quite rewarding to use. Sure your accuracy is terrible since the gunner runs on vodka+kvas but i’ve done some nasty killstreaks with it.

    • The only reason I can see is that the Grote’s useless turret is sitting on top of its main one. Shouldn’t really make a difference, so I’m wondering if there isn’t other issues at play.

    • Answer is simple. Try to think up of a way to allow you to shoot 2nd gun without fucking the control scheme and raising the whiners. Also keep in mind that not everyone has mouses with 9 macros. (Mine has 2 but i use one for clip reload)

      • For this one it’s easy. Since one turret is on top of the other and the 37mm will reload faster than the 76, just have them aim at the same spot and have the 37 fire whenever the 76 does. You don’t even really have to make it a true multi turret, just one gun shooting two shells like the MGLS

  3. Maybe… WG could stop screwing around and just offer up multi-gun already? I mean there’s plenty of tanks in the game already that could use it (Lee, Maus, Churchill I, E-100, AC48, JgPE-100, etc), and so many in the mothball stage that could be there should they make it work.

    To be honest, I have no problem with the idea of left click for main gun, right click for auxiliary gun, and shift the original right-click feature to the CTRL button or something .

  4. Why can’t WG AI the turret like they do with rear gunners in WoWP? The player has control over the main guns. Unless the AI process bombs out the game engine is the only reason for not doing so.

  5. So multiturret mechanic is scrapped completely? As far as I know it was “only” postponed into indefinite future.

  6. FFS, multi turret mecanism was promised when the french tanks were previewed. When was that? 3 years ago?

    I honestly think I’ve never seen a company as amateurish as WG. The fact that they could pull out such a great game despite being so crappy developpers is unbelievable.
