    • I think because it was a very dark map, or at least, the contrast between the plentiful “bright” fires and the dusk-y atmosphere made it appear dark. I for one could barely see anything on that map, hitting rocks and other things almost every time.

      • Me too, mostly in the summer time when the sun light is directed on the monitor screen. And i don’t want to redecorate my room for one map.

      • This! WoT has spent extensive amounts of time making corridors on every map to combat the TD sniper menace. It would make no sense to release a map that is doomed from the start to have to be remade within three patches.

        Easy solution, – don’t play arty (side effect – the game will be a better place :-) )

      • It’s all about positioning. I do rather well in arty on Himmelsdorf, and ok on Ensk. Get where you can hit the hill on Himmelsdorf, and between the buildings on the West side of Ensk and you’re golden. Just gotta move around till you find the sweet spot.

  2. What’s wrong w/ Ruinburg on Fire? I like that map…yeah, its just Ruinburg with some atmospherics, but its still cool (and there’s a thunderstorm going on too, btw…you can hear the thunder occasionally in the background).

  3. For the Savannah map, if arty is dominating the map then either add some desert cover or Remove the chance that Arty has in the game. Like maybe you can allow all the classes of tanks in the savannah map except the arty. That’s my idea or you can add hills to the map where arty can’t hit tanks on the other side of the hill.

      LTs should have open plain maps removed. TDs should have komarin and murovanka removed … etc…

      imho if you got it while playing arty, its just a satisfaction for getting kharkov or himmelsdorf 8 times in a row… yet they are punishing suicides in maps where you cannot even move…

      playing arty in city maps is just fucking frustrating… there is literally 10 square meters where you can aim (himmelsdorf hill for example), otherwise, fuckof or go td mode…

        • I have only one arty (S-51) out of my 36 tanks…
          I’m not arty baboon, I just dont cry to nerf arty every day. Learn to play, dont camp on same spot for 3 minutes and you wont have any problem with arty.

          I’m not any pro (50.3% WR) but literally it happened to me like 5 times in last 1000 games that arty oneshot me. And yes, because I was sitting on same spot like a stupid duck.

          What I was about to say, why should one class have some map restricted ?
          arties do shit in kharkov or himmelsdorf yet that map rolls for them.

          Its part of the game. Whether you like it or not.
          As I said, I have only one arty vehicle.. S-51. its not even elite yet.
          And I wont stop playing it. Sometimes its just stereotype driving other classes and arty has totally different gameplay.

          idk guys,… try to play arty yourself.. its not that easy or fun… oneshots are very rare… most of the time you dont hit a shit and you have to wait 1 minute for reload….
          If I miss and that tank is still sitting there… he deserves to die by my second shot.. and then ofc he cries like you all do now…

          • I tried it several times. Several hundred battles both before and after 8.6.
            Frankly, if you really think it’s not easy, seek out professional help.
            And why the frak do you even play it when it’s oh so difficult and frustrating? You know my answer. What’s yours?

            • I didnt play it before 8.6
              this is the only arty vehicle I unlocked from KV-2
              I play it becasue its different gameplay.

              It is frustrating in city maps. It is not on open maps. Thats just a fact.
              You dont have 0 or even +1 gun depression! on other tanks. and buildings all around that prevent you from shooting anywhere.

              Well I find it quite hard to be able to do some siginifacnt damage in the games.. Sometimes I cant even shoot. While in regular tanks… if I cannot damage oponents I can at least scout. And playing HT, MT, TDs I can usually do much much more than playing arty.

              Then again, this is tier 7 arty, having stock gun. I dont know hows it goin in tier 10 matches… but that “one click – wait 60 seconds” reload time is preventing me to even go that far in the tree…

              So yes, for me, its much easier to have an impact on the game while driving other tanks then playing arty…

    FPS drops? Think so, its easier to make mostly white map, than map with effects like fire and smoke.

      I also dont understand why there are games like farcry4, crysis3, battlefield etc…
      They could just release pong or tetris every year.. no FPS loss…

      seriously… removing effects because somebody is playing on tamagochi is stupid. You can always turn those effects off in settings.
      It’s like if hollywood starts shooting movies in 4:3 black and white, because color image in 16:9 is pointless on 7inch CRT TVs from world war 1 era…

      And if you cannot run the game on standard renderer, all low/off then theres something wrong. Literally fucking iPads can run WoT! Get a PC!
      You can buy decent PC for WOT for literally 50 euros!

          I threw away a notebook that could do that.. 6 years old MSI GX600 with centrino and nvidia 8600M GT, 3GB ram.
          Literally, threw it away to trash.
          Tried to sell it, shipping was more expensive than the notebook.
          They offered me 30euros for it. shipping and package would be 27eur.

  5. The Ruinberg move is kinda odd, but that is WG. What really grinds my gears is the chance of playing Prokhorovka(or how the hell it is spelled) or the other Prokorovkha with a different hat, played yesterday with the Superpershing only, from 18 matches in a platoon we got that dumb map 13 time ffs, and it ain’t even a good map, just some campy shit, when everybody reaches his spot and for the rest like the SP and slow tanks is like 5 minutes drive to somewhere where you can do something. I swear this map has a bigger chance of appearing, just make it lower, because you get fed up with it playing it 70% of the time.

      Getting that fucking map 7 times in a row was pretty usual. Sure always different game mode, but still…

      Not that its a bad map… Im just fed up. Usually going straight to garage when I see erlenberg.

    • At least it is one of a few remaining 3D maps where you can shot tanks from the side. Not just corridors with stones and artificial hills in the middle of them interconnected in few places or not at all, that are good perhaps for E100, T110E3 and other high alpha, highly armored top tier tanks.

      • It’s good looking if I plan to take a walk in the park outside the city. However, that map feels bad and it hurts my eyes. It’s badly done. I have no problems with Firey Salien or what’s its name. And the lighting is cool there too.

      Put Savannah on test server and start a post on forum and get real feedback from ur customers on the map instead of just internal.

      Noobs complained too much, and they will keep on complaining…..until every last tank is exactly the same as any other, no RNG, so they actually have a chance.

    And later they decided to implement it under the name Prochorovka. How is that piece of sh*t still in the game is beyond me. And why do we have two of those nowadays is even more beyond me. That crap is basically unplayable for the entire heavy class while being a freaking heaven for clickers and TD’s.

      Proch is a fun map for lower tiers but horrible for higher tiers.

      This map should be bigger for higher tiers!

    so why himelsdorf exist WHEN ANYWHERE U ARE U ARE HIDEN and arty is useless on this map. why not give 1 for balance easy for arty

              • Remove arty, and you kill off half the use of LTs.
                Without the use for LTs, you get medium spam.

                Also, moving counters arty, which in turn damages blobs of non/slow-moving tanks

                  And there we have the most broken thing with arty. They have no hard counter and the most effective arty counter is other arty.

                  That is the DEFINITION of imbalance.

                • When those “blobs of non/slow-moving tanks” are in cover, the only available targets are the moving tanks. So in reality moving is countered by arty.

                • LTs are being killed by every patch from 8.6 to 9.2 and there’s no point in playing them except for fun and deciding end game (this is my experience, because they can’t use flexibility before enemy has less than 7 tanks and they can’t spot anything that meds can’t … camo advantage on the move is useless when they can’t see a sh.t in bushes).
                  This is because
                  - less arty since 8.6
                  - LTs are easier to hit with aim spread change in 8.6
                  - no tracers (sixth sense is too slow) since 8.6
                  - less engagements above 400m to nerf/balance waffles by map redesign since winter 2013/14

                  Btw try to equip T32 with coated optics and train BiA + SA on radio man. Then peek above hill and you’ll be surprised how much spotting damage you can get without being killed by TDs.

    To solve this many “shooting bushes”, why not implementing a system when a player shoot through the bushes the smoke (depend of gun) from the gun will be visible to enemy player.

    • i.e Tomatoes don’t know spotting mechanics and too stupid to learn. WG too stupid to make a proper tutorial to help Tomatoes to learn…so since these things are hard they will just remove bushes and turn maps into shit corridors so that Tomatoes only need to look forward and shoot, no brains needed to worry about anything else…yay WG.

    Just like any non-city map. You either get blapped by a cancerfag if you try to actually play the game or you sit in arty-safe cover and let the battle revolve around you which is how baddies do it and achieve awesome 48% WR.

    A simple solution is to make the game use line of sight. If you do not have line of sight to a target, you cannot see it. No more shooting at targets that you technically cannot see (i.e. sitting more than 15 meters behind a bush). It would also make it so that when you move behind a hill or other LOS blocking feature, you could not be tracked (seen) allowing you to use proper tank gunnery drills of changing firing position so that the enemy is unsure of where you will pop up. Finally, if the spotter no longer has LOS on you, the artillery can no longer track your movements to shoot you (except by guessing).

    Ok, so I understand the whole thing about unforseen obstacles and delays and everything. That’s a given when creating any video game. But seriously, correct me if I’m wrong, but WG IS terribly, horrifically bad at getting things done on schedule (particularly Havok and motion physics). I mean, they are bad even among MMO video game makers, and that’s saying something. I think the only one worse at meeting deadlines than WG might be Roberts Space Industries with Star Citizen.

  21. “too many “shooting bushes” out there” – and they didnt nerf own vision of GMC – and buff it for LT. No, they remove bushes and made Doom2 E1M1 styled maps. I think that they have too much dumb bosses and too low gamedesigners.

    GMC often faster then LT, have low profile and have High own visual range. And WG developer talk about – death of LT.

    I couldn’t understood – what made 450 – 500m effective “eye” for LT and 300 for GMC – so they need work in cooperation is too difficult?? GMC must forget about own light from 2nd or 3d line of battle. Either they shoot from bushes and “pay” for light – either – they are in the first line of action.
