Hello everyone,

Storm talks about 9.5 and other matters in his latest microdigest:

- British MT/TD branch will have a tier 10, it will be the FV4005 Stage 2 (183mm without an autoloader). Yes, there will be two “oneshots” on tier 10, they will be divided by gameplay – one will be slow and armored (FV215b), the other relatively mobile and unarmored (FV4005, the turret is 14mm thick all around)

- there will be NO existing tank reworked into HD models in 9.5, there will only be new vehicles: 11 British vehicles and several new tanks for supertesters
- the 9.4 test sounds will NOT be implemented. On some configurations they have performance issues and the developers don’t have time to fix them, so the sounds will remain as they were in 9.3. At the same time, the public opinion on them will be taken into account and the sounds will be reworked.

  1. What do you mean the T95 will not come in HD? Do you mean it was supposed to be in 9.5? in HD form?
    At first I thought that the T95 would never be made into an HD model, very confuse, much english, so wow. :)

      It refers to how starting in patch 9.0, all new tanks aside from the refurbished StuG and Panzer IV were to be in HD. Reward tanks are to be implemented in 9.5 and they needed the T95E2 prepared for it. Since they already had it modeled in the old format, they’re just going with that until they get around to scanning a T95 MT

      • I hope they redo it, the model is bullshit.

        T96e6 is proportionally 30% inflated turret wise vs the real tank, so it makes it look horrible. Also its turret is garbage with way off base armor values, even though it looks like a e5 it isnt even close.

        Also the hull is mishaped and the front drivewheel is to low.

    my performance went down by 20%…
    ever since 091 or 090…
    so i honestly don’t know what optimizations are they talking about .
    Maybe instead of wasting the money i dint had ,1k$ on this game , i should have spend it on something else.
    Not to mention i barely get 200$ a month…. for my disability
    anyway its nice to see new tanks , i got no interest in Tier Xs but anything else then that is a welcome sight .
    I get the feeling that Havok won’t help much ,I mean the Engine it self in this game is one of the worst i ever seen

    What kind of rework will the 6S have ? whats wrong with it now ? o_O ??

    • Maybe there’s something wrong with your PC/Lap ? Check it out, get some CCleaner (it’s free) and run it, clean your chatche, system registry etc.
      You may also have old PC, not weak but just old, Hard Drives tend to wear out and may cause performance issues or CPU and GPU can have their thermal past dry out and cause overheating.

      Dunno, your situation is weird and I’d guess it’s just your machine, either being old or in some very particular configuration that is so rare that WG boyz didn’t optimized it.

        Maybe its Windows Vista Business 64
        I only have OEM fro 32 64 Vista business.

        • i5 sounds good, 550 Ti reasonable too. How good performance do you get, 30-40FPS at 1080p almost full (is what I’d expect)?
          I have almost the same setup (i5 3670K, 560 Ti, 16GB and usual HDD for game) and I am making 45 – 55 (depends on map and situation) FPS with full details (except a bit lowered shadows, grass in sniper regime and motion blur – most of those for personal preferences)

          Might want to check the SSD too, if you have it for some time it might be starting to get performance issues, especially if it’s not a top brand.

            • 550 is weak in my eyes. All Nvidia families of X50 are bellow “average”.
              I have GF560 for several years. With 5y old cpu E8200 (2,6Ghz) I had ~25 fps with ALL LOW graphics.
              This year I changed cpu to 4771 (~350$) + ¬100$ motherboard + ¬100$ RAM (still keep my old GF560) and I am playing with ALL MAX ¬58 fps.
              By, the way, per year I spend ¬50$ for WOT :D
              So, you should have spend that 1k $ for upgrading your PC – it would made your gaming much more enjoyable.

    • 90% of the time its because your CPU is running WOT on the first core and everything else is sharing that core.

      When I run my comp on 1 core and WOT I get horribad microlag and FPS goes from 35-45 all the way to 15-17. You need to make sure WOT is set to priority and DL a load balancing program to tell your comp to set aside an entire core to wot.

      • settings a different priority doesn’t change anything , only makes problems

        I always set up the launcher on a different threads/cores
        then when the game starts [PLAY] it will automatically fallow the launcher affinity settings

  10. II ~ X TD/MD, FV4202, Chieftain MK II…..There is no M10 Achilles. I disappoint it that they don’t care it. It must be Archer. They didn’t say the Achilles.

        • nope the valentine has no tanks after it. So archer and Achilles + rest of TD go on the valentine line
          the rest of mediums will go below valentine branch above arty than after firefly branch back on to valentine line

          • It leads to the Churchill and Bischop. That’s two tanks after the Valentine. They would need to disconnect the Valentine>Churchill bridge in order to fit the new tanks there.

              • but there needs to be space for the achilles to join the new tree, which if the valentine line already has arty line below it and heavy line above it is not possible.

                  The medium will be placed under this above the arty line. Then at Firefly it will join up back into the Archer line

            • Yeah, the tree can’t really handle the valentine going to the arty, heavy and new td lines. Is why i assumed it would come from alecto.

                  And Alecto and Archer are both TDs converted from light tanks, so that’s a thematic connection. Not to mention that the Valentine AT is in that line, another Valentine conversion. That’s a connection too.

    Starts at Tier 4(?) with the M3 Grant
    Tier 5 Sherman III and Archer
    Tier 6 Firefly and Achilles
    Tier 7 ???
    Tier 8 ???
    Tier 9 ???
    Tier 10 FV4005 Stage 2
    And he said 11 Tanks, i have now 9, what is the rest?

    EDIT: Ah ok, 1 complete new line, so Tier 1-3 are the missing ones. What tanks are they gonna be?

  13. WG said 9.5 will be big update, and now what ? No new sounds, no HD reworked tanks, no havoc, and ALL they care about is FUCKING supertested prem tanks. AND why the hell british will have another 183 TD on tier X, this is so wrong. Of course to 9.5 they cant give us new german HT, and make VK more historical, THEY cant give us alternative hulls, no, for that company is too much. WHAT a shame. Sorry for bad eng.

    • No – he won’t.

      They just – because FV215b (current british heavy tank tier 10) will be propably completly gone from WOT (he won’t stay not even as premium tank) – they just say “FV215b” meaning “FV215b (183)”.

      When FV215b (current british heavy tank tier 10) will be completly gone from WOT – after some time after this – FV215b (183) will be at least on forums and chats named just “FV215b” because where will be no other “version of FV215b”. Of course nickname “Death Star” will always stay with him … … …

    • No, he means the 183mm. The FV215b was the name of the td with the 183mm, 120mm version is fantasy. The “183″ addendum to the name is only there to stop confusion with wargamings fantasy tank.

  15. This sounds good. I assume Archer will be researched from the Valentine and the the Achilles from the archer then rejoining the new TD line at tier 7?

    • Soemthing like that, mediums will start at tier II and go up to Firefly and then turn in to TD’s

      You can also access the new brach via Valentine which will research in to Archer.

  17. You guys may whine about 2 Death Stars all day long and besides that even tomorrow, but the fact, that 2nd British TD line will not end into nothing, warms my heart a lot and gives higher goal to grind it.
    I love my 183, and the FV4005 probably will be even more fun to play because of better gun stats.. I never had any problems facing 183, waffles or arties, but driving the Death-Star is like playing Goliath or Gulliver on battle field. ;)
    Other new TD’s looks kinda fun too, so let’s hope for the best!

    P.S. And before all the rage starts – yes, I play Heavies and Meds a lot with good success too.

    If all 3 platoon members are of same tier then you will get better matchmaking with 2 man platoon than 3 man platoon, simply because MM will balance enemy team to add one more same tier vehicle as one your platoon mates has. And this virtually eliminates MM situation when enemy team has 1 or 2 top tiers.

    • Makes no sense.
      MM occasionally f**ks up even more, when it puts a platoon in battle. As a platoon member you may easily end up being one of 2 or 3 Tier8 tanks in Tier10 game, where enemy team will have only Tier9 and 10 tanks. Seen that a lot.

      • That’s at evening/early morning hours when there is not enough lower tiers (try to grind t8 or t9 tanks at that time, opposed to “prime time” when most players are online). But thinking in purely mathemathical terms, assuming random MM, reasoning should be correct (sure there might be glitches such as missmatching tier balance in team, but those are rare enough). solo < 2 man < 3 man with one lower tier < 3 man same tier, it mildly depends on classes as well (SPG and light tanks balance rules give you games out of ordinary – according to what's most readily available to MM at time of game start, if you platoon them)

  21. You know, as soon as the FV4005 comes out at then end of a turreted TD line, no one will ever play the AT line again, right?

        • AT line has massively more HP than other tiers, they have Heavy levels of HP. So ‘probs’ should be ‘definitely’ :P

      • Yap, Turtle is an awsome tank, one of my all time favorites. AT15 is very nice too. Of course, your average tomato will not like them a lot, but at the end you will get more armored Death Star, which again is nice for them.

  26. I don’t believe Achilles should be T6. It’s basically a M10 with a better gun, nothing more or less. M18 and M36 are clearly better in armor/mobility and gun than Achilles, but if you introduce it to T5 with an appropiate RoF, it could be a balanced tank to play.

    • M36 is also an M10 with a better gun nothing more or less…. M36 has an M10 hull, Achilles has an M10 hull with added armour, so Achilles s slight hull armour advantage. Both have added roof cover, M36 has better turret so it has a slight advantage in turret armour. In game terms at least 17-pdr is superior to the 90mm. So really the achilles is a Jackson with a higher dpm, higher pen lower alpha gun but a bit slower (still more mobile than M10, its laughable to think they could be same tier).

      Hellcat is only competitive because wargaming gave it the 90mm and an armoured turret. Having Achilles a tier lower than the hellcat which had max 25mm armour and a 76mm sherman gun in reality would be a joke.

  27. Finally Archer and Achilles! I may suck badly at playing TDs but i’ll have them in my garage anyway.

  30. Ok, I’m beginning to worry. What the fuck is up with the Chieftain/FV215b 120 and the Action X/FV4202. These two are turning into vapourware and I’m curious of the reasoning behind it. Implementing the Action X should be fairly easy, as it basically “just” needs a reworked visual model and collision model and leave the hard and soft stats as they are.

    Are they having troubles with the Chieftain?

    Because the 183 has pathetic armor now….Anything with HEAT = Autopen and most other things of t8-10 dont have problems.

    So IDK why anyone wouldnt use the faster one, esp since it will prob have much better gun handling.

I say panzer 1 C fodder :D I mean ok, I never troll platoon, but Imagine what that little monster could to to the 14mm thick turret, and all the crew members/modules that are inside it. With some luck even killing a loaded WTF E-100 is possible in 1v1, this thing would be even more helpless.

    Nah fuck it lol this shit wont make me play WoT again. It can have a laser gun and 10k damage, but with a turret high as a skyscraper and 14 mm all around in armor will be a disaster. Arty scum will jizz in their panataloons when they see it and T49 players will be like bulls seeing a red flag lol (even tho bulls are colorblind lol).
