- Storm insists that the Russian player claim that “the developers don’t play their own game” is crap
- some of the top Wargaming people don’t play, but the lower staff do play more
- it won’t that terribly long before all tanks are reworked to HD
- players, rigging the individual missions will be banned
- Storm states that the public opinion had a lot of influence on the individual missions, some missions were removed or reworked as a result of player feedback
- developers started to work on HD IS-3
- it’s actually possible to use War Thunder tank models in World of Tanks. A player asked whether the Wargaming IS-3 will be as good as the Gaijin model, Storm answered that it will be better, it won’t look like it’s coated in guano
- according to developers, some of the individual missions are very difficult, but the reward is fitting (makes up for it)
- individual missions can generally be completed only on tier 4 vehicles and higher

  1. “… it won’t look like it’s coated in guano.”
Of course not. It will be nice and shiny and in mint condition, like all WW2 tanks on the battlefield :P

      • they don’t seem to have bothered looking at RL IS-3′s if they think that, paint job was bad IRL, that’s how it should look

    • In fact, most of tanks during WWII didn’t manage to get very dirty before getting knocked out. Of course, some situations make tanks dirty (like deep wading etc), but they won’t stay “coated in guano” for long – the crew has to maintain the reliability, supplies and proper looks of their vehicle too. I like the HD model of KV-85, it’s quite nicely worn out, but such paint scrapping would occur on “veteran tanks” with almost weeks of tough fighting. I also always laughed at pictures or model kits of tanks shown with muddy tracks on surfaces like paving or asphalt. The tracks without rubber pads were getting literally polished in such environments :) EDIT: And few days (even hours) after this “polishing” some rusty coatings would show up on less “working” track areas, fact. But hey, it still won’t look like flushed with mud from buckets.

      • True and true…
But they could perhaps find a nice look between “coated in guano” and some scrapings (because the driver accidentaly hit the garage door) ;)
And even if they are scraped, they look way to polished and shiny.
I want my tank to look like it’s been in countless of battles.

        • That’s a nice thing in WT.With premium acc. you can make your tank look brand new out of factory or like it has been to hell and back,so everyone is happy.

    • ^This

WoT HD models look exactly like some plastic modell kit with a huge amount of dust on it . Second thing is Gaijin even models the interior parts you can see from the outside of the tank.

    • You do realise tanks were brand new at some stage? Bet you bash people that build their model kits without weathering as well?

    • Are you telling me that with the millions of credits in my account that I don’t keep my tanks clean and well maintained?

Where is the executive officer? I want to have a few words with him.

  2. I still wonder why the fuck you have manually activate the mission. The next mission in category should be activated automatically as soon as you complete the previous one…but no, fuck you players, you have to fiddle around with the menus to activate them and remember to do that…

Why every company wants their game to be as much user friendly as it possible, here we have WG who dont give a fuck about such thing as “user friendly”

    • It’s not just that, but we have to manually claim the rewards (something they haven’t implemented before) and we can’t have more than one activated mission at a time, meaning you can’t multitask individual missions and if you only have one tank that can do a certain mission then you’re stuck waiting for that tank.

      • You can unlock all available missions at once. I played one game this morning before work. Before doing so I “started” the light, medium, heavy, TD, and arty missions. I then jumped into a battle in the WZ-111 and completed mission one for HTs. When I went back into the mission menu to start mission 2 for HTs all my mission 1s were still showing as “started”. You can’t complete missions further up the chain until the lower level one is done, but you can work on multiple vehicle types at once.

        • Dafuq…..
Anyways – it would be better if all missions are available and if you meet its requirements – BOOM – 7/15 missions completed.

                • Unlikely. Main point is to piss players off.

Think about it. Many players are pissed off at the WZ-111 missions. The first few nations were easy, you had Tier 10′s for that. Then there were a few annoying ones, say french with that darn Tier 7. And now you’re stuck on a Chi-Ri, or like me, on the STB.

I have the STB and I still bought the last japanese token, because I cba anymore. Good for WG right now, but they’ll miss out on my money in the long run.

Because now I’ve quit the game for at least a month, possibly longer. Its also not just the silly grind. Its WG EU stating that “cheating is legal”, the arty mod becoming officially endorsed, etc.

So if their point is to keep me playing, those individual missions completly backfired on me. They should at least have waited a few weeks before the next dumbass grind begins.

World of Tanks has become a job, even more so than EVE Online. A job where you get pissed on by your boss every single day.

            • Why exactly would that be silly? Makes perfect sense. Example: Study for one degree, you take a few modules that overlap with another course, later you decide you want another degree, and you have some modules in that course which you already passed. Would you be happy to do those again? If yes, you are an idiot.

      • Actually you can have up to 5 misssions started at once provided that they are from different mission class

Manually claim the reward ? Never saw this, all those credits or consumables were automatically added to my cred pool/depot

Anyway, WG will change them to be automatically activated after finishing the previous mission…they will…in 0.15.0 patch…

Seriously. Players dont want to do tons of unnecessary clicks when the stuff can be done simply by making it automatic. When WG will realize that…

    • It’s so that you can choose to complete it with or without the secondary objective. I think.

    • Maybe it’s a performance issue. At the end of each battle their servers would have to go through dozens of missions for each person to see if they had been completed.

    • Actually, after you unlock StuG IV and start subsequent missions, you can pick any mission from the list apart from the last one (i.e. when you start the T28 concept missions, you can pick any mission from 1-14, you don’t have to do them in sequence liek the ones for Stug IV). So automatic starting of next mission in line wouldn’t work with that.

      • It would because it would just auto unlock the next mission (aka the one that is lower in list). If you start manually from eg mission 4 and you reach mission 15, the game would just auto set mission no1. Or for example mission no 2 if you already done mission no1

  3. - it’s actually possible to use War Thunder tank models in World of Tanks. A player asked whether the Wargaming IS-3 will be as good as the Gaijin model, Storm answered that it will be better, it won’t look like it’s coated in guano

this guys are so funny. the whole WoT graphics cant keep up with TW. neither the “HD” models. they look unrealistic compared to WT. they look like plastic.

but no wonder. its D3D11 vs D3D9 …

  4. - according to developers, some of the individual missions are very difficult, but the reward is fitting (makes up for it)

Of course they are. Pure luck is difficult to get.

    • I can only guess the amount of rage people will have when, for instance:
-awesome match in a heavy tank, did over 10K blocked damage…
… did not have the correct IM unlocked yet or forgot to start the mission xD xD

      Ultimate crying :P

      • Doesnt matter. Bullshit tanks:
        - totally different gameplay and not clone, T-55.
        - devs said IS-7 is T11 tank – introduces even OPier version.

  5. “some of the top Wargaming people don’t play, but the lower staff do play more”
And guess which ones are making decisions about the game. The lower stuff, or the top people?

    • “- some of the top Wargaming people don’t play, but the lower staff do play more”

it’s somehting called “dogfooding”(using what you sell) and succesful companies all do that, WG top probably realized that wot is trash long time ago and stopped playing/caring other than the money it brings.

funny how all those “top” people are the ones that started developing the game and promoting it, i still remember big boss kisliy interviews about the game, now he dissapeared completely from the dev cycle….

      • Are you all daft? It’s the top people who have LESS time to use on playing the game. A game designer can play on a regular basis due to the nature of his job. The “top WG people” have responsibilities outside the game as well, interviews, coordination between studios, planning projects, accepting/approving project schemes, economic decisions, etc.

In a simple analogy: The head of MAN Lorries/Buses do not have to drive buses and trailers each day. He got other people to do it for him, and trust their opinions.

  6. - there are no plans to sell “tokens” for uncompleted individual missions

I simply don’t believe this. Sooner or later, WG needs more cash and then activates this feature.

    • Exactly this. As i said before, after pretty much every good clan and unicum gets the reward tanks, the only people left obtaining them will be regular solo players, casuals with lots of money and tomatos. It will happen sooner or later.

For WG it will be like selling a premium tank. Lots of money.

  7. only a true idiot will waste/burn time to achieve IM reward clone tanks, its really sad and annoying that such evil exist in this world.

    • geeee, soo much work man. Activate a mission, then just play the game.. You’ll just complete the missions without really trying to achieve them.
So far.. the extra credits have been nice :)

    • Only a true idiot will complain about something like this, when all you have to do is play normal…

  8. - if you have no slots for girl crewmembers in the garage, it’s okay – you’ll apparently get a temporary free one like with other crews

Don’t you get a free barracks slot for each final mission? It does say “Bunks in barracks: 1″ for my LT15 mission

  9. I think I may be losing my mind here but I was in my IS-2 today and a Churchill 7 and a Stug swore up and down that you get more XP for killing all the team vs capping it out. is it true? my instincts say its bullshit as thats what I have heard from here before.

      • I know, I was just making sure I wasnt losing my mind. and yes they did claim this, they also claimed that ghost shells where fixed.

    • There is no bonus for killing everyone. But the XP you get in a match is build from a few components, one of those is defined by the total damage your team has done. This is how you still get XP even if you didn’t do anything in the battle.

Capping gives barely any experience, only 1 xp per cap point. So thats 100 xp in total. But if the enemy team has about 3k health left, that could be about 20 xp for all 15 members of the team. (just a guess, didn’t want to go berserk with formulas and stuff) But it does make a difference, just not as much as some people believe it is.

BTW, have you ever had a game where it ended by cap 2 minutes into the game? while 90% of both teams are still alive? I had that happen in a tier 8 game, the highest XP someone in the winning team got was 150 as there was barely any dmg done. And the ones that didnt do any dmg in the winning team had about 50 xp.. Enjoy your double ;)

    • If you’re the one capping, no, you’ll get more XP for capping, especially if somebody else ends up being the one to kill the remaining enemies. It’s more XP for THEM if you get off cap so they can go kill the last guys alive…

It’s also a stupid idea if you’re low on health, because if you get killed your crew experience will be cut in half as well, vs staying alive and capping it out. You wouldn’t believe the number of fail teams I’ve seen jump off cap to go kill the last guy, only to die because he’s full health and they’re all one-shots….

      • rly? so u say that if 3 players cap the base while game is like 5:1 they will get MORE exp than they would get with killing all the enemies? I probably played a different game cause those 3 idiots were 10th, 11th and 13th in the amount of exp achieving awesome number of experience of 114 on average.

Staying idle for the rest of the game would give them way more.

The influence of dmg per team / number of players can be easily observed in for example CW battles, if your manage to win 12 against 15 the base experience (second score page) would easily hit 1,1k for the player with less experience, for those who did the top dmg/spot it can easily be 1,8 – 2k. (+ premium + some exp reward + x2 its pretty nice)

It is not a flat bonus, there is an exp reward for every point of hp (but obviously not in 1:1 scale) difference between 15 arties and 15 E100′s is huge.

I honestly prefer to lose the game instead of winning it by cap on stage of 1:6. Cause the damage that can still be done will result in higher exp anyway.

        • Getting off cap to kill the final enemies only rewards higher XP if you’re the one doing the killing, you get diddly squat if someone else gets them first. If I’m on cap and the final enemy is on the other side of the map I’m not going to lose potential xp just to give it away to some other guy that kills him before he’s even in my draw box. You only get rewarded xp for damage you cause, not damage the rest of your team causes. If those three people were so bad they only get an average of 114xp per battle, I doubt they would have done any better squabbling over the last kill instead of capping it out.

  10. Anybod noticed small performance loss with this mini update? I don’t know how but it feel little laggy now(micro stutters or something beeing not fluid) even with 60fps constant.

    • Yes :( Perhaps overloaded servers small lags, some packet losses and some random accuracy issues. Something that used to happen with nearly all 8.X patches that were nearly unplayable few days after introduction.

  11. I just don’t get why WoT’s engine is so incredibly bad. It can’t be played on old computers because it’s so demanding and newer computers run it badly while STILL not looking particularly good.
I tried Warframe and got 70 fps @ 1440×900 on medium settings on my “meh” laptop while WoT runs at 20 FpS on low at the same resolution.

    • You bastard. Come join my clan. 40+ online.
Also yeah – even Warframe has 5 times better graphics and less lags.
Why? BigWorld engine is so old and probably too much work to rework to work normally :D They couldnt use good engine – who knew it would turn out to be this popular .

      • lets hope havok engnie with new servers will be better
        (2 years later)
lets hope we can get rid of this havok engine and get a better one

  12. - players, rigging the individual missions will be banned

Yea right lolz!! clans can easily met in random battles. They dont need to say it out loud, they will just coordinate thru teamspeak. And how is WG going to find out of tens of thousands of battles played everyday that some clan guy carefuly rigged a battle?

And what do they mean by ban? the usual 7 days ban? ahahaha what a load of shit. WG trying to scare riggers but they are pathetic really. Even if they are actually finding them on RU server, on NA and EU no one will take action unless there’s clear proof of rigging.

  13. ” it’s actually possible to use War Thunder tank models in World of Tanks. A player asked whether the Wargaming IS-3 will be as good as the Gaijin model, Storm answered that it will be better, it won’t look like it’s coated in guano”

    Jealous much ?

  14. Having to platoon in order to complete some mission is utter bullshit. 10k games and i’ve never platooned and i don’t intend to start now. Fuck wg y dey do dis

    • It’s really not that bad, you don’t even have to say anything, bloody hell. Do you live in a basement by any chance?

    • you will get better if you keep platooning i saw a guy that had %45 win rate he joined to a clan now he has something around %57

    • So what you’re saying is, you don’t like the missions because you’re anti-social and don’t like playing cooperatively with others….because it’s easier to win by yourself with 14 tomatoes than it is with three guys working together and 12 tomatoes? I’m sorry, I don’t really understand your argument, all I really get from it is “blah blah platoon blah blah hate people blah blah hate wg blah blah blah. Get a life and get a friend. WG makes a lot of stupid decisions, but rewarding people for playing together wasn’t one of them.

  15. “it’s actually possible to use War Thunder tank models in World of Tanks. A player asked whether the Wargaming IS-3 will be as good as the Gaijin model, Storm answered that it will be better, it won’t look like it’s coated in guano”

    Lol, guano XD

  16. lol theese new personal missions are awesome :D
-destroy 1 module or ijoure crew member — 50k
    -win + survive — 25k
    hahah

  17. “- it won’t that terribly long before all tanks are reworked to HD”

    I am optimistic… end of 2018? ;) Right?

  18. - it’s actually possible to use War Thunder tank models in World of Tanks. A player asked whether the Wargaming IS-3 will be as good as the Gaijin model, Storm answered that it will be better, it won’t look like it’s coated in guano

You know, I’m kinda sick of their attitude and double standards… First the comments about how no tank should look as dirty as the WT models, then the dirty Jagdpanther (not even mentioning the rust-dotted M1 heavy tank SD model), and all their talk about multi cannon usage, havoc and bigger maps which turned out to be lies or failures. Surprisingly Gaijin managed to implement the use of multiple guns quite well. And the maps are bigger, too.
I know that WT has issues too, but god damnit, this “they suck more” shit is just useless.

    - it won’t that terribly long before all tanks are reworked to HD

    I’m glad about that.

  19. “- some of the top Wargaming people don’t play, but the lower staff do play more”

And those top people are the ones who make the rules and balance. I could have told you that.

  20. Compare one of War Thunder’s latest tanks like the Tiger P with Oh lets say……one of WOT’s Ultra HiDeffff Challenger/Avenger with the wrong hull. and top screen so they don’t have to model the interior, or any of their other latest additions. Friggen hilarious.

Come get em while their hot boys and girls….. more WOT copy and paste tahnkz for the tomatoe patch. “Now in HD!”

  21. - Storm insists that the Russian player claim that “the developers don’t play their own game” is crap

Then WG developers are stupid people who can’t see even the most basic problems that plague this game. No, they don’t even play their game.

    • “- if you have no slots for girl crewmembers in the garage, it’s okay – you’ll apparently get a temporary free one like with other crews”

I think that other tankers in barracks will happily offer to share their bunk with new girl crewmembers xD

  22. “it’s actually possible to use War Thunder tank models in World of Tanks.”
How can I do this transferring WT models to WoT? Is there a tutorial somewhere (It doesn’t have to be a video)?
