- various types of armored steel (with different brittleness for example) are not represented in WoT (SS: they used to be, very long time ago – some vehicles had different steel quality coefficients, this was removed because it was confusing to players)
- according to Storm, Wargaming implements armor as such: if there is an official document, they use official numbers. If there is no official armor thickness document, they decide the armor thicknesses themselves
- E-25 dimensions are unhistorical? “We made it according to sources we had at that time.” (SS: the argument was that the player thinks E-25 in the game is smaller than in real life, Storm disagress – funny about those sources available though, Panzer Tracts have been along for a long time)

SS:

It’s true, E-25 in the game is too small. Storm confirmed the model length, width and height in his answers. Here’s how they compare to real values from Panzer Tracts 20-1 by Hilary Doyle.

Ingame width according to Storm: 2,78 meters
Real width according to Doyle (PT 20-1): 3,41 meters

Ingame height according to Storm: 1,75 meters
Real height according to Doyle (PT 20-1): 2,03 meters

Ingame hull length according to Storm: 4,5 meters
Real hull length according to Doyle (PT 20-1): 5,66 meters

I smell a nerf. Anyway, back to Storm.

- the fact that Chasseur de Chars was used as tier 8 premium medium tank doesn’t mean that WG found a candidate for tier 8 medium tank
- Storm admits that the frontak plate angles on the SD model of IS-3 are wrong, it will be fixed in HD (SS: I don’t have the exact numbers, optically, it looks like a slight nerf, but I can’t really tell – fun fact, according to Yuri Pasholok even the HD model is somewhat wrong, it has some unhistorical elements, like that AA machinegun)
- Storm states that the WT E-100 replacement was not discussed yet properly
- FV215b switch to Chieftain is still planned
- if you vote in various WG polls (those that get sent by e-mail) without recieving your personal invitation by e-mail, your vote will not count
- there is a reason why the polls aren’t given to everybody – according to Storm, you need a defined number of answers to get the best results, plus WG doesn’t have the capacities to read answers from EVERYBODY

  1. In real life? Show me 1 photo… any photo of an ACTUAL E25…not a drawing… an actual tank. Arguing the dimensions of a tank that was never produced seems pointless since when/IF it would have ever been made likely the actual tank would have been changed once testing would have been done to see if the design actually made sense.

  2. Even though I own an E25 myself… I’ll be a little happier if these little bastards get nerfed.

  3. E-25 nerf?

I own an E-25 and all I can say is…

    GOOD!

Nerf the camo, nerf the mobility.

Its too OP and too boring.

  4. That would be a massive nerf… You wouldn’t be able to hide under peoples guns anymore D:

  5. *various types of armored steel (with different brittleness for example) are not represented in WoT (SS: they used to be, very long time ago – some vehicles had different steel quality coefficients, this was removed because it was confusing to players)*

That’s just so much bullshit coming out of his mouth…

    • Not really. It REALLY is confusing. It is almost impossible to compare one test shot with another because the number of variables is very high. It is a nightmare. It is difficult enough to find common ground for shell pen figures.

And for example. Every company that Produced Shermans. Created their OWN ARMOR for their production line. Thus each production line has technically different armor that, while needing to meed a minimum spec, varies none-the-less in what sort of maximum punishment it can take. And that is JUST the Shermans.

Now try it for another tank.

    • No, he’s actually correct. it used to be that German tanks got a 5% bonus to armor thickness for “superior steel” or some shit. I don’t remember when it was removed, but it was a long time ago.

  6. - FV215b switch to Chieftain is still planned

Yeah? Really? From vague time estimates last year we have slipped to just having plans. I have a pension plan in place, its still a few decades away though!!!!

I’ll eat my keyboard if it ever happens.

The irony is whilst waiting I’ve figured out ways to play the FV215b so will probably miss its side scraping ability IF it ever gets replaced.

      • Chieftain will has even worse hull armour. Side armour is crap, frontal upper glacis with 85mm @ 72 degree is not auto-bounce if you take into account enemy’s gun depression and shells normalization.

      • A fair few tomatoes dont manage to do it, even in clan war gold spam battles…

I usually position it so I move forward into cover between shots, reverse, use quick aim time then back to cover again. Doesn’t leave a lot of time for an aimed shot, add tomato into the equation & plenty of bounces :-)

  7. - the fact that Chasseur de Chars was used as tier 8 premium medium tank doesn’t mean that WG found a candidate for tier 8 medium tank

Shouldn’t there be “tank destroyer” somewhere? I got confused with that statement, because the CDC was supposed to be TD, not medium like ingame.

    • One will note that the gun on the AMX CDC is labeled as “DCA AC 45 90mm”. That AC is the tank destroyer designation for guns in the French line. The ARL44, AMX M4, AMX 50-100/120, and FCM 50t all have the “DCA 45 90mm”. On the other hand, the ARL V39, AMX AC46, and AMX AC48 all have the “DCA AC 45 90mm”.

Interesting that despite changing the designation from the vehicle from a TD to a medium they kept the TD gun designation.

    • Just because it is named a tank destroyer doesn’t mean it’s not a medium. It performs like a medium/light tank. Just like T-34 with a 57mm doesn’t make a it a tank destroyer even though that was the Russians called it that. It just has a better preforming gun but it still is a medium.

      • If they nerfed the turret and track traverse it would be a typical fast turreted TD. Going by the gun name, that was the original plan, but ‘someone’ decided French needed a premium MT not TD, and the CDC could be hacked to be a MT.

      • “Just like T-34 with a 57mm doesn’t make a it a tank destroyer even though that was the Russians called it that.”

Meanwhile the Chi-Ha is both a light and a medium depending who you ask/what tree are you using

  8. universal steel for each tank…lol if it was historical all the rusek tanks would be rusting away and oozing out radiation

  9. I suspect the only nerf the E25 is going to get is its removal from the shop. That is done, in Wargaming land that is equal to “Problem Solved”.

  10. I just had one opportunity in million tries to do a SPG-15 mission in Bishop. Had 1,9k dmg, needed one more shot. But of course my dumbfucked team left whole fucking field on Siegfried line open and thus left me to die from the gun of light tanks…

    I broke my mouse….

      • Read again

        “Bishop”

Now tell me how do you want to play this one like a typical arty by sitting in one corner and shooting across whole map to the other…cus you know, 500m range and shit

    • Any PM which requires an absolute amount of damage done/assisted is biased towards high tiers. Trying to do them in the lowest possible tier is masochism. :-)

      • Lel….no ? 2k dmg in high tier ? Ok, no probs. But well you know….try to be in top 3 exp-wise in arty. Good luck doing that

While in low tier its highly possible that you will be in top exp-wise and dmg, well, just need a big amount of retards in enemy team (and some amount in yours so they wont rush-rape enemy)

        • If you read my comment properly you would see I said ‘absolute’, not percentage or ranking, which is tier agnostic. It’s just a fact that higher tier has higher DPM guns and more hit points on tanks, increasing the chance of doing more absolute damage.

          • Yea I know but we are talking here about a mission that requires you to also be in top 3 exp wise and top 3 dmg wise beside dealing 2k dmg. And that is simply (much much much)^2 harder to do in higher tier arty than in low tier.

  11. Now they nerf it (Probably?) -AFTER REMOVING it for being op and “not wanting to just nerf it”?

    *facepalm*

  12. “FV215b switch to Chieftain is still planned”

Before or after we all leave for AW?
    No news about FV4202?

  13. If they nerf the E-25 they are morons.

E-25 only advantage is its small form factor body. Take that away and you have a turd on tracks E-25 spits out damage like 100 average you can do lets say 300-400 damage before you get spotted if they nerf its height and shit like that whats the ****** point of taking it out the shop then ?.

We could see a nerf and a buff because then they would have to compensate for that maybe add more alpha like 200 damage instead of 100-150 it does now that would be a nice swap over and i would be willing to accept that because doing 200 damage every few seconds would make it a huge threat.

Anyhow **** wargaming. Advanced Warfare is the future not owned by communist morons who are brain dead.

  14. Could these people stop probe again and again because of the E25? It starts to be annoying that they will stop first when some NERF hits the E25. Now they complaining about its dimensions.

  15. - Storm admits that the frontak plate angles on the SD model of IS-3 are wrong, it will be fixed in HD (SS: I don’t have the exact numbers, optically, it looks like a slight nerf, but I can’t really tell

Lmao, I remember back in the day they changed to IS-3 armor to make it more historical which changed the armor from bouncanium to garbage and now they want to nerf it even more? Like it wasn’t bad enough 175mm pen guns could go trough the front. What’s next? T6 guns going trough the frontal plate of an IS-3?

  16. Are the devs so bored that they always find new ways to fuck with existing tanks, instead of finding ways to add new content or fix bugs?

Nerf the e25 and I want my gold back.

  17. “I smell a nerf.”

I conclude that WG would have nerfed it anyway if the could in light of the recent global TD nerfs, but because it is a premium they decided to withdraw it instead.

Anyway as an owner I very much hope they won’t lol. If they do I’m gonna do what the A-team did which is to dig up and old tank and fix it. I’ll then drive to WG HQ and flatten it whilst laughing manically.

  18. How shameless are these people. They use official document only for foreign tanks. But if its soviet what the official document say is not important. Just for example:
In the official book from Uralvagonzavor about T-54/55 there is diagram that show the thickness of the turret armour, and the its maximum 153 mm + slope. In the game we have 200 mm + slope. Not to mention the fantasy “stock” engine and the weight. T-54 with 120 upper front plate weight 39+ ton, not 36 as in the game. As result from overweight underpowered tank we receive a racing machine. Another thing they love to forgot is the actual angle at which soviet tanks can incline their guns. Just for example on Is-4 its 3 degree, we all know what is the digit in the game. Another this is the new premium tanks, Is-5, what is the sense of putting in the game another Is-8= T-10? They have no historian in their team? There is so many prototypes made in that period, and I’m talking about tanks that look different enough, not just and existing tank in stock configuration. Just for example Object 770. “Official document” please.

  20. Uhm.. all of the tanks in WoT are the wrong size. Or atleast scaled wrong.

    Step 1: Pick a tank.
    Step 2: load up himmelsdorf
Step 3: park next to the door of a house
Step 4: Wonder why the tank is only slightly higher than the freaking door.
Step 5: Ask yourself if Himmelsdorf was inhabited by giants.

    • Step 6: Go on other maps with buildings and realise not even the buildings are scled corectly from map to map
