Insider Talks: Physics Test, Physics Ideas, SerB Likes Sushi

Hello everyone,

the Insider is back with a portion of news from the developer chatter channels. Let’s have a look at what the developers are up to this time.

- the physics test will come relatively soon and everything is being prepared for it. The Insider mentions that it’s possible for it to appear in two weeks, which corresponds to what Storm said. More on physics:

The new physics have one interesting ability: dynamic change of terrain properties, based on settings (weather for example, when/if the weather system is implemented). In other words, you can make the same terrain behave as hard as a rock (a road for example) and you can switch it to “slippery” mode (for example when there’s ice on it). This is however just an advanced project, not developed yet – an idea. There is a concern about creating the movement “too slippery”. An example with a Hellcat is made by a developer in this matter, that for example, on ice, the vehicle is prone to small movement corrections (small slides) to make its behavior look realistic (SS: this is exactly how it works now in Armored Warfare, it looks awesome, but it makes the vehicles a bit more difficult to control)

- so far, the developer idea for the physics is that flips (turning on the roof) should not be easy to accomplish and that nobody wants “KV powersliding” – the idea is specifically NOT to make the physics feel like War Thunder
- developers treat the physics tests as real tests, the final product might be very very different. There will apparently be a lot of really strange and crazy stuff in the tests and developers expect harsh criticism for that, but they don’t care, as the test is really just there for them to collect data
- once again, some lowtier developer brought up the Sheridan for WoT and once again, it was denied for the usual reasons (missiles)
- SerB likes sushi and doesn’t like anime all that much
- developers suspect that a high ranking Russian Federation official is playing World of Tanks, as they tracked one IP back to “White House” (not the US one, but the Moscow one) and it comes from there at certain hours every week
- the fact that M6A2E1 is coming in HD was influenced by a certain post on American forums, where some player explained very carefully and at length why the model is wrong and what should be done with it. It wasn’t given any special priority, it just however happened to be hastened by the amount of correct info available. The model is not finished yet (some parts are still missing), but the errors were corrected based on that one post on American forums and should be fine now

  1. I recall some photo of D. Medvedev with laptop and he had WoT Forum link in his favourites bar. Was it fake? Can’t google it now.

  2. In theory the new physics sounds good, but I’m hoping this won’t just stick to theory…

Same with the weather and terrainsurface idea’s that are beying floated. Sounds great, hope it works as intended, but I expect there will be some problems along the way AFTER implementation.

Should be funny to see mediums on icy undergrounds trying to circles their targets on very slippery surfaces :).

    • dont worry they will take years to implement that.

as for ground forces they will do it in no time altrough no one plays it :P

  3. Oh noes physics. Me must think to drive? :)

What does have Sushi to do with anime…sounds stereotypical….

  4. See, they traced a player back to Russian White house. So if you flame in the chat, KGB will get you eventually.

  5. I imagine Putin on the phone with Serb: ‘I want BT-SV, is best tank’.

‘Mistjer Putin, we must build rocket, rocket and yacht’

‘I heard that some of your Russian workers feel opresses’

    ‘One BT-SV coming right up’

  6. *white house gets stormed*
    *putin shot dead*
    *investigation*
*they find out gaurds were playing 7/54s for money*

  7. One way to make it a little more real would be for the tracks to skid while the tank moves forward very slowly. Just like the stug trying to move in the snow that was in that ardennes offensive video.

  8. Pingback: Insider: Test pohybové fyziky do dvou týdnů

  9. I’m surprised that the mutant is getting HD treatment this early, as it is rare. However the availability of correct information seems like a good reason to move forward.

  10. - once again, some lowtier developer brought up the Sheridan for WoT and once again, it was denied for the usual reasons (missiles)

Technically Missiles are not a problem as the first several dozen didn’t have the missile system. But, WG knows this, as it has been pointed out to them many times over. The biggest reason as to why you would not want an M551 is mostly because the armor layout is unknown.

  11. “the idea is specifically NOT to make the physics feel like War Thunder”
there, already a retarded decision and the patch it’s ruined from the go, WT physics are more correct than wot trash.

SS, why don’t you bother reading WT patchnotes and devblog to see what superior develoipment looks like?, do you see why WT tanks “slip”?, because they haven’t implemented terrain types and everything acts like metallic tarmac now, next big patch they’re adding the correct (several unlike wot) terrain type that will affect your grip, speed and handling, and they’re adding terrain deformation due to tracks to that as well.

¿what will you be stupidly parroting/bitching about after they finally implement it i wonder?, because this is a favorite “retard reason” for “i dun loik wt becus tonks slide” style of ignorant tard response

    • “because they haven’t implemented terrain types and everything acts like metallic tarmac now”

      -superior development..???

      HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA

      • yes it is superior development, they patch a lot and fast, you dont have to sit 3 months on a bug because they give a shit about reports or test server like wg does.
If you discover a bug in wot test, patch gets applied the same and “we’ll fix it when the cows fly”

and releasing the first verison of PUBLIC TEST of the game with some feasture simplified is not wrong.
It seems you where not around when wot came ou in CBT, because back then we had no modules modelled… crtis where a random roll….

      • i do recall it, it’s called “prioritizing” instead of allowing feature creep to stop your development(oops, just like failgaming with their 9.0 patch that nearly a year after it’s still unfinished!)

  12. i think WG is growing up man they can get some good work done

THEY STARTED TO ADMIT THEY ARE WRONG AND THEY ARE FIXING STUFF? wot

    (about Mutant6)

  13. so, the M6 bug reports where reported between the end of 2013, january 2014, ONE YEAR LATER they will “just begin to fix it”..

are you fucking shitting me?, why wasn’t that fixed with TOP PRIORITY instead of you know… implementing retarded fantasy paper shit or more unnecessary stupid tanks?.

this is why i hate WG development and gaijin is far supeiror, if you provide the correct data they will fix it VERY FAST and you have a lot of ways to give proper feedback directly to the devs and not to hang in the air

    • Well inst it obvious? why give TOP priority on an extremely rare tank when theres so many more important and popular tanks to convert? the fact that they actually pulled it off with low priority means they didnt forget,

read the freaking post again, jesus, everyone just whines like a bitch this days

      • a “rare” tank that the FIRST people that payed to support the game have should be a TOP priority.
not some bozo OP FOTM shit tank that all 45er like to play, they can go f themselves

and i dont need to read it again to know those reports are from a year ago, there’s nothing conceivable to mask the insult they do everyday they ignore it, it’s not just incompetence, it0′s plain malice
