- Storm explains “potential damage recieved” statistic: “It’s the sum of average damage of every hit recieved, because the damage counts toward this stat only when the real damage is dealt, after the armor is penetrated”

Looser78v (US server) explains:

Player asked – “Question about the “potentially taked damage” – it use average damage [stat for guns in your garage] of all hits on your tank, or the amount of damage already calculated [RNG-affected damage, which is what enemy gets, when you penetrate], but just not applied?”
Answer: “Sum of average damage for each hit.” Rest of answer should be understood in this way – Storm tried to explain why they use average damage, and not “amount of damage already calculated, but just not applied”:
-Average damage is used because actual damage [RNG-affected] calculated only after penetration, but “potentially taked damage” also count non-penetrating hits. [So how you will calculate "potentially taked damage", if you have damage numbers only for penetrating hits? Yes - by using stat-showed average damage for all hits.]

- in 0.8.6, all vehicle types will recieve same XP for the same damage done (SS: some players claimed that when currently tanks get 400XP for the same samage dealt, arty gets 200XP for the same damage, in other words, 50 percent increase for the 200XP would mean 300XP, not 400 – this calculation is wrong)
- SerB confirms that no “Klein Tiger” will come (even a heavier variant, than the unrealistically light Achtungpanzer versions), he considers it a “a fairytale for germanophiles”
- armor, that historically changes its thickness smoothly (SS: imagine a drop shape) and not by plates is in the game “simulated” as several layers of various thickness, not as smooth thickness change
- apparently, more XP for potential damage dealt won’t be implemented
- for now, there are not enough vehicles for 2nd French TD branch
- RU251 will most likely not come this summer
- Leopard 1 didn’t have its income “stealth-nerfed”
- it’s possible (if enough data are found and if there is an Israeli branch) that there will be captured Egyptian IS-3 tanks implemented, armed with something else than BL-9. Specifically, it could be premium Israeli heavy tank with D-25T gun, 250mm frontal armor and an engine from T-54 (SS: this question came from the Israeli community)
- it’s too early to say what kind of map will be implemented in 0.8.7
- T-35 is currently planned to be implemented as a premium/promo tank, not a regular one
- ZiS-4 and S-60 guns do have the same ballistic properties. Apparently, the 55-57FG Chinese gun is a clone of neither, the design works on it started in cca 1959
- SerB doesn’t consider the HEAT ricochet changes in 0.8.6 a buff

    • As far as I know, the buff was never confirmed, but the reason behind the proposal was the armour nerf. Now if the armour gets nerfed, something must be buffed, as SP is currently barely keeping up it’s 49% win rate (which means it’s under-powered). The logical buff would be penetration, but if the armour gets reduced, so does the weight (armour is after all just a big piece of metal) and therefore the whole tank gets a bit lighter. That in result means it’s 500 HP engine would produce more horsepower per ton and I’d propose an also logical speed buff to 30 kp/h. 30 kp/h, around 190 pen and still trollish armour would make SuperPershing an excellent tank, but then it might get over-powered. So you see, buffing tanks isn’t easy at all, all the factors must be taken into account and all new aspects must be thoroughly tested.

      • Lowe never get any buff to compensate it’s size increase few patches ago. I wouldn’t be surprised if the SP remains the same and armor still gets nerferd. Their excuse will be “historical accuracy” therefore no need to compensate it with any kind of buff.

        • The Lowe has a fantastic gun and is meant to be engaging at range, so there isn’t really any buffs that are realistic and needed.

        • Whatever retard things making the size just slightly bigger is a nerf is just a terribad that needs to STFU. Really, it was more a buff than a nerf since you could actually shoot over some of the larger barriers now.

          • Yes, that’s why tanks like Maus, E100,Lowe, JgpzE100 are considered as arty magnets since they are low profile and not tanks like T54 which are humongous./sarcasm off Seriously STFU. Making a tank 10-20cm taller is not gonna help you shoot over shit since it already can shoot over everything but those 10-20cm are gonna make your tank impossible to hide in cover which are being flattened on all maps in every patch and it’s gonna make a difference between being hitted by arty or shell flying over your tank.

      • Well yes, the armour nerf would happen mainly because of the historical inaccuracy, but if the developers want to keep the SP historical they will also have to buff it’s penetration, it isn’t called Super Pershing for no reason, in reality it carried both better armour and better gun than the actual Pershing. The gun SP really had was to be equal to that of the Tiger. So if they want to continue their “historical accuracy” bullshit, WG will also have to buff SP’s gun quite a bit.

  1. “- Storm explains “potential damage recieved” statistic: “It’s the sum of average damage of every hit recieved, eg. the damage counts toward this stat only when the real damage is dealt, after the armor is penetrated””

Are you sure SS? Cause I thought it is potential damage of all shots you recieved i.e. also bounces and it is counted for Steel Wall. Storms answer is for me quite surprising.

      • i can confirm after tested it weeks ago that arty splash also counts to potential damage… so, they were drunk again while answering… ( or they changed it in 8.6)

        • AFAIK splash doesn’t count towards pot.dmg if the shell didn’t hit you. I’m not sure about this – but my E-100 has had quite a few fights when GwTigers would splash the shit out of me from 5-7 shells, without any of them connecting, i’d lose 1.5-2k health – and the stat would show my like 1k pot.dmg.
Though of course there’s no real point in that stat – apart from laughing when your Bat.Chat takes 3-5k dmg or 12-14k on the E-100.

  2. - apparently, more XP for potential damage dealt won’t be implemented

You mean it’s scrapped? or just no additional XP bonus for potential damage?

  3. - it’s possible (if enough data are found and if there is an Israeli branch) that there will be captured Egyptian IS-3 tanks implemented, armed with something else than BL-9. Specifically, it could be premium Israeli heavy tank with D-25T gun, 250mm frontal armor and an engine from T-54 (SS: this question came from the Israeli community).
250mm front? Holy mother of Maus – hell no its gonna premium tank. Either T10 battles matchmaker always or T10 tank :D

    • Would make more sense. And instead of just an Argentina tree, make it a South/Central American tree…

  4. “- SerB doesn’t consider the HEAT ricochet changes in 0.8.6 a buff”

I dont realy understand this, maybe its my odd english.
Does it mean it´s not a buff for the HEAT shells, or for the armor.

    • He speak about shells buff. Ability of HEAT rounds to ricochet in 0.8.6. s not buff in SerB opinion

      • Well, HEAT will start ricochet instead of penetrating thin but very sloped armour. But on the other hand if the armour is very sloped even thin one may present effective armour too think to pen and the HEAT shell is wasted.

But, for example, if they bounce off shot trap they may hit flatter upper plate part and penetrate or they may bounce off the gun mantle down onto upper plate roof and also penetrate.

All in all, after 8.6, I think we will see more HEAT ricochet penetrations than we see extreme angle HEAT penetrations now, in 8.5.

In other words I do think it’s more of a buff really.

    • Alot of Jews know russian because many of their parents/grandparents lived in russia. It’s natural for them to play on RU than on EU server

        • same. really interested in Israeli branch, any more info/linkies please? I can only dream about Tiran.. my favorite tank (T-54) with a 105mm!!!!

      • Not anymore. The HEAT nerf will kick it’s balls sadly. At least if it would get the könisch gun, it would be an okay tank…

        • If VK2801 got konish to make up for HEAT I think nerf I’d rebuy … right after grinding around 130k exp on afk panther that is.

For me, afk panther works fine. It’s only a bit undergunned and lacks hit points for it’s medium/light role. VK2801 with the konish and mm better than afk pather it should be enjoyable tank to play though with entirely different playstyle.

          • *Silly error in the first sentence. Should read:
            - If VK2801 got konish to make up for HEAT nerf I think I’d rebuy it.

          • I sold my 2801 when the nerf was confirmed, but I kept the crew, who are enjoying their vacation in the barracks. If 2801 will get the könich I will rebuy it too, and the crew can roll with that tank, if not, then I will put them in the tier VIII light tank, if it will be fun to use.

          • AwfulPanther has awful viewrange+stealthness combo so only radical viewrange buff can make it a good tank (like to 430m base). I would much prefer that to hp buff or gun buff.

  5. Can someone explain this?

“- in 0.8.6, all vehicle types will recieve same XP for the same damage done (SS: some players claimed that when currently tanks get 400XP for the same samage dealt, arty gets 200XP for the same damage, in other words, 50 percent increase for the 200XP would mean 300XP, not 400 – this calculation is wrong)”

get arty and TD now the same XP like normal tanks or have they still a malus?

  6. the israeli branch is just as, if not more ridiculous than the argentin one… they didnt even exist in ww2, and the game should be exclusive for nation that took a part in the war.

    • Yeah, if there is something that keeps me coming back to this game, it’s the WW2 tanks that dot the landscape like AMX-13s, Leopard 1s, T-54s, T-62As, Conquerors, Centurion Mk 7s, and now M60s.

        • Great argument until you realize that Wargaming has never said this was a WW2-themed game, but at its most detailed the Wiki states that it’s a game of mid-20th century armoured warfare. It’s logic like that that comes from the kind of guy with an in-game name of 1ST_PANZERFORCE_WHITTMAN_ROMMEL_MONTGOMERY (sic) who hides his Tiger behind arty while telling us all in-game that you’re there to protect arty.

    • Israelis would be a branch with many very interesting tank designs (although they didn’t “produce”, they made very extensive modifications/mixes from everything they grabbed) and unlike Argentinians, they USED their tanks in real combat. The problem, like with China, is with low tiers, everything starts at tier 4/5+ (less copying, though).
This is the branch i wait most for. Still, we need Japanese and Italian before.

      • Oh, so the chinese branch of fucked up t-54 and is-3 clones is perfectly fine?
Sure, go ahead, let’s make another branch that’s either a clone, a replica or a different countries tank…

  7. “- for now, there are not enough vehicles for 2nd French TD branch”

Really? There are plenty of vehicles out there for a second one. I myself have been working on an extended french tech tree and have already completed my 2nd TD line.

  8. “Some players claimed that when currently tanks get 400XP for the same samage dealt, arty gets 200XP for the same damage, in other words, 50 percent increase for the 200XP would mean 300XP, not 400 – this calculation is wrong”

Yikes some players need to take a good look at their 4-5th grade math… I guess it comes as no surprise then that there are so many retards playing WoT. Most of them probably aren’t even in the 5th grade.

  9. Oh boy, can’t wait for merchant tanks, if they do make an Israeli tree. Gonna be a day 1 free XP buy straight to tier X for me.
