- Q: “Are you afraid that we the people will get angry if our wishes to nerf arty will not be heard?” A: “Megalomania is bad. Take care of yourself.”
- SerB on large caliber artillery shells ricocheting from thin surfaces: “Yes well, 8 inch naval shells did ricochet from the 25mm thick cruiser armor plates, so?” (SS: some players suspect Wargaming of somehow screwing with ricochets for HEAT arty shells by disabling overmatch)
- HEAT ricochet angle is 80 degrees, regular ricochet is 70 degrees
- there are enough Soviet heavies for 7 whole branches, but there are no plans to introduce that many
- while the accounts for WoT, WoWp and WoWs will be unified, this doesn’t count for clans, clans won’t be unified
- in 0.8.6, the bush camo principle will remain the same, because “it was a better solution” (SS: the new bush camo mechanism was bugged as hell)
- the camo system will be overhauled completely, but not soon
- Q: “In connection witht he premium ammo nerf, will the top 59-16 gun be buffed?” A: “Don’t play with the 59-16 top gun”
- client physics demonstration: “when it’s done it’s done”
- the devs are trying not to implement skills/perks, that would work with the same effect as the main skill (SS: for example a perk, that would decrease reloading time, which is the effect of the main skill of the loader)
- nation-specific skills/perks might be implemented, but not at this moment
- Vickers MBT and Vijayanta (SS: improved Indian licensed Vickers MBT copy)? “No comment”
- improved Chinese Type 59 with additional armor and new gun won’t be implemented, current Type 59′s are enough
- “modern” maps (SS: with modern architecture for example) are specifically avoided by the developers
- SerB on “free to win” principle “In our game, gold doesn’t give any advantage in battle. In levelling, it does. And it will continue to do so. Nothing I can help with.” As for the difference between gold- and silver-trained crews, SerB states: “You can always train your crew in battle. If you are lazy, nothing I can help with.” He answers the same for module unlocking – can be unlocked thru free or regular XP.
- water has no effect on shells whatsoever, some effect will be added but not soon
- you won’t lose by ramming a dead tank. If you feel like you lost some HP by doing that, you probably rammed the tank while it was still alive and the messages arrived in wrong order
- assist bonus for potential damage won’t be implemented (SerB: “I am waiting for the time when players will ask for bonus just for downloading the game”)
- no plans for 4 man platoons
- no mods as such will be implemented into the client. SerB states WG might “borrow” some ideas however.
- Deadeye perk will affect engine fire chance, but only indirectly (by increasing the chance to hit the engine), doesn’t increase the engine fire chance itself.
- the rapid fire autocannons have decreased chance to cause engine fires to compensate for the fact any hit can cause engine fire

SerB explains: “A shell hits the engine module, a “saving throw” is thrown (without that the game would be unplayable, veterans remember the 0.4.0 patch) – eg. the damage is dealt to the engine with some amount of probability. With each damage dealt to the engine above certain threshold, the engine can catch on fire. The engine below 50 percent health will turn yellow and on 0 it will turn red. This is the connection between crits and engine fires – the module damage.”

- premium vehicles do not correspond to the stock vehicles of the same tier – they are somewhat better than that, but elite vehicles of the same tier have to be better

Bonus: World of Tanks for Xbox game footage (for some reason, the sound is not working for me, not sure it’s on my side)

  1. Question about the camo system – is it the new 8.6 one that’s buggy, and if so, how is it buggy specifically?

    • The one proposed for 8.6 was bugged, it was creating the “invisible tanks” and other issues. Therefore it was removed from the patch.

      • so we will get the 0.8.5 camo system in 0.8.6 without any changes (Beside the camo net and camo paint change)?
Last time i read something about the testserver camo server it was told, that it is now 80% of the current value.

I would be totally happy with at least 3, but 7? Overkill :D

  3. It would be cool if they would implement that smoke behing shell and gun in sniper mode. Smoke behind shell is proboably very unrealistic but looks cool.

  4. - no mods as such will not be implemented into the client. SerB states WG might “borrow” some ideas however.
shouldn’t it be rather ” – no mods as such will be implemented into the client. …”? (“- žádná modifikace nebude přidána do hry…” is completly right in Czech, but it is highly confusing in English, because english grammar has “only one negative in sentence” rule ;) )

      • This is interesting. So in Russian and Czech double, triple negative are ok?

(Science graduate whose language lessons stopped at 15-16)

        • I don’t know how it is in Russian, but in Czech, if we say “nemáme nic” (literaly translated as “we don’t have nothing”), it actually means “we have nothing” or “we don’t have anything”…
using double negative is ok when using Czech, but it also depends on context.

      • Chápu :) jinak, super práce s těma překladama :)
        a.k.a.
I understand :) btw. great job wíth these translations :)

        Regards,

  5. Hey SS, can you please ask this to the devs?

What happens when you shoot a tank, which is still alive when your shell is in the air, but it dies before your shell hits? Does it count as a hit with no penetration or as a miss?

        • On the other hands, shells in the air when the game ends can still hit. I’ve had a couple draws battles with all 15 enemy tanks destroyed because the server ended the game on the clients when time ran out, but apparently it still resolves shells in the air on the server to count up damage or kills. It’s always fun to see someone who was alive when the game ended show up dead on the results screen.

Is he trying to be dumb or he just is. Gold doesn’t give any advantage in battle and difference between 75% and 100% is exactly that, ADVANTAGE. Ofc i know that i can train my crew but until they reach 100% other player with 100% will have advantage over me. Faster aiming, faster reload, driver drives better, faster, tank is more agile, better view range which is all affected by crew %. I wonder how someone with high education like SerB can make such a nonsese bullshit statements.

    • /facepalm
How could your parents let you on the Internets?
Besides 25% is not that big.
      Otherwise – I wish noobs to L2P :D

    • So what do you suggest? WG employes to eat thin air and their families to start begging for food or what? You know we live in a real world where food and everything else is bought with *monies*? Dude, once you earn $1.000.000 you can speak, but until that point, please shut the f*ck up.

      • You missed the point, faggot. Medjed didn’t say that WG shouldn’t earn money, he only said that they should stop lying that gold gives you no advantages in battle. You must now feel like a stupid cunt, but that’s okay because you are one.

        • Gold doesn’t give you advantage that can’t be reacherd with just playing many-many battles.

          For example:
the player with gold can train his crew to 100% right when he buys the tank, BUT player without gold can train his crew to 100% with lot of battles. In the end both of them will have the same tank with same crew. It’s just that with gold its faster. Exactly like SerB said.

          • You missed the point, faggot. Medjed didn’t say that WG shouldn’t earn money, he only said that they should stop lying that gold gives you no advantages in battle. You must now feel like a stupid cunt, but that’s okay because you are one.

Exactly, but i guess reading with your brain ON is hard these days.

  7. - Q: “Are you afraid that we the people will get angry if our wishes to nerf arty will not be heard?” A: “Megalomania is bad. Take care of yourself.”

    Self reflection?

    - there are enough Soviet heavies for 7 whole branches, but there are no plans to introduce that many
    (all at once, rather gradually)

    - while the accounts for WoT, WoWp and WoWs will be unified, this doesn’t count for clans, clans won’t be unified

Guess what? We love your 2500 gold for forming a new clan!

    - nation-specific skills/perks might be implemented, but not at this moment
Tactician: driver, France : “we can get out of trouble faster than we got into one” , 25% engine power when driving in reverse

    - “modern” maps (SS: with modern architecture for example) are specifically avoided by the developers
This is good, b/c ppl would ask MBT`s driving in modern scenery.

    - no mods as such will be implemented into the client. SerB states WG might “borrow” some ideas however.
nice way not to “insult modders by paying them”

  8. I wonder how many people are aware that an unsuccessful cap doesnt give ANY points extra..
Guy in the clip who is capping for red team is a ‘total’ noob.

Also wonder how many ppl actually ‘know’ or understand the game mechanics..
Like kill stealing some1 with 2HP left.. so much win?

    • Estimate? 1-2 percent of ALL players have a vague idea, with people who really know what’s going on counting in single thousands amongst the 60 mil accounts. My guess would be that like 80 percent of people still count frags and not damage done.

      • Yeah, quite probably. Actually that is one of the biggest flaws of the game, I think. WG should really implement parts of the XVM mod into the standard client. And couple of hints and help messages to be displayed if a player makes an obvious mistake should be automatically displayed (able to be turned off of course). Simply WG is not doing enough of educating new players (under 6000 games). No game is perfect, as long as WG is doing financially allright, the improvement will be slow and incremental. Which is not a bad thing, the game in its current state is quite good, actually very good, so who cares … :-)

        • If it takes you 6k games to learn how to play you have an issue.

I know how to play but my stats wont reflect that for a long time.
One must work with what you got, until you get something better.

          NEMO.

          • Well, show me then a unicum player with under 6k games. Yes, you can play averge after 300 or so, but it does not mean you are good. Maybe you have a different understanding of “Good” than I have.

    • “Kill stealing” actually isn’t that stupid: xp bonus for frags is significant, and killing enemy faster than your allies often means you’re preventing said enemy from shooting one last time, which can matter a lot.

no way, this must be a mistranslation, nobody can possibly be THIS stupid…. right…?

  11. The Vijayanta wasn’t an improved Vickers MBT it was a licence production of the Vickers MBT Mk. I, they were exactly the same tank, just that they were built in India (and not even all ‘Vijayantas” were built in India, some of the first batch were British built). The REAL separation for a tier 9 and 10 tank would be between the production Vickers MBT and the prototype Vickers No. 46200T Medium Tank AKA the “Vickers 105 mm Gun Tank’. The 46200T was designed in 1961 and two were built in 1963, one was sent to India for trials and one was kept in the UK for further development. This continued development led to the improved Vickers No. 51025T tank. design which was the Vickers MBT Mk. I we all know.
