- SerB states that the S-70 gun could fit into IS-4 turret, but was not mounted in it in real life
- the IS-4 on tier 9 had the S-70 gun earlier (SS: as far as I remember, it was removed when IS-4 became tier 10), despite not being historical, it was there because “it was necessery”
- Chinese 59-16 light tank in game was based not only on drawings, there is allegedly a mock-up photo too
- WZ-131 85mm gun with “funny” muzzle brake: according to SerB this design was borrowed from the Americans

This is how it looks:

WZ-131_18-3-25

- SerB’s son doesn’t have much time to play WoT, as he is preparing for real army career, currently he is a part of the army volunteers:

DSC02184

- SerB states he’s not sure how much money can you make per one battle without premium account, he thinks it’s around 200 thousand credits
- you can catch a glimpse of a new hangar on the Chinese vehicle presentation pictures:

ztce2IxTAck

- SerB on which real life WW2 vehicles are still missing from WoT: “Well, there are no Brummbärs yet, some British, French are not complete. The same goes for Japanese, Italians and various others such as Swedes. But regarding the USSR, Germans and USA, almost all mass-produced vehicles are there. As we start to change the hulls (SS: introduce optional hulls) – there will be more modifications.”
- SerB states that there are 4 spotcheck points on the hull (SS: points that serve to check if your vehicle is visible or not – if one of them gets spotted, the entire vehicle gets spotted): center of front hull, center of rear hull, center of side hull – and 5 on the turret (front, rear, side centers + “roof”)
- it’s theoretically possible that if the points above are hidden, but for example a roadwheel sticks out, the tank won’t be spotted anyway (as the roadwheel is not a spotcheck point)
- damage by ricocheting shells won’t be implemented in order to save server resources and it’s something very rare (too rare to warrant development)
- tanks turning over (on their backs) will be implemented because it’s something not so rare that will happen more often
- the fact that after the Japanese branch there will be long break before new tanks are added is caused by the fact that the modellers (same people who work on new tanks) will work on improving old models for new HD client
- SerB states he’s fine with playing with Sixth Sense or without it
- SerB confirms next patch will be 8.10

- 8.10 will contain Japanese tanks and Object 430
- new chat system (reworked chat) will come in 2014, there are problems with it on serverside – it has problems with too many people online
- 9.0 will bring some improved graphics, but will come a bit later

        • Unlikely, would expect they would add a tier 9 and force us to go through the second line

          • Wasn’t the 140 with T-54 pen/reload speed supposed to be there until they decided the 430 wasn’t ready back in 8.8? I’m interested to see if they’ll split off the second line from the 54 and what they’ll put in tier 9 if they do so since they already stuck the 140 in as a 10.

    • son*…it’s his son…

Also, tanks flipping on their backs…that sounds promising…

      • I wonder how many players will whine because they fell and are on the side or are turned over.

          • Recently saw the last member of the enemy team fail at suicide-drowning when his T34 got stuck semi-submerged at an awkward angle between the steep bank and the “shelf” of the bottom; he was duly shot like the craven cur he was.
            And there was much rejoicing.

Mines at least also has a few spots around the hills where you have good odds at getting stuck atop a rock…

  1. If the Object 430 comes in the game, will the T-54 then still unlock both tier X tanks or only the T62?

  2. - the fact that after the Japanese branch there will be long break before new tanks are added is caused by the fact that the modellers (same people who work on new tanks) will work on improving old models for new HD client

    NOOOOOOOOOOO MUH FRENCHIES MUH CHINA ;__;

    - 8.10 will contain Japanese tanks and Object 430

    JUST TO STOP ME CRY A LITTLE ;__;

    • Noone cares about the chinese tanks, they are just ugly copies of commie tanks anyway, just more ugly.

      • Of course we know the main (if not the only) reason you think they are ugly is because of your hate to the nation of origin. (Regardless whether or not it is the case)
Likewise, one would say the tanks of their nation would look gorgeous. Even if it is hideous.

        • They may be copies, but Type 59 is very aesthetically pleasing… more so than T54 in my opinion.

  3. The “new” garage is one that has been seen in North America before. I think it was Memorial Day (or maybe 4th of July).

  4. - Chinese 59-16 light tank in game was based not only on drawings, there is allegedly a mock-up photo too

Interesting…the “Interwebs” have been aware of this tank for some time, but I’ve never seen anything credible on it.

    – WZ-131 85mm gun with “funny” muzzle brake: according to SerB this design was borrowed from the Americans

    Makes sense….

    • IIRC the original Patton one was fairly literally a transverse steel tube welded to the end of the barrel with holes for the shell to pass through. Worked quite well apparently so /care about the ridiculous appereance as far as the military was concerned.

  5. how in the hell one makes 200k in a battle? Even if we killed 15 tanks in a t8 premium, all of them from 100 to 0.. i dont think that could be done due to ammo cost, and ammo limit.

    • I’m pretty sure it’s just a hypothetical. More of a, you could potentially earn this much if it weren’t for limiting factors such as ammo limit. However if a player killed all 15 enemies from 100%-0% then the amount of credits they earned would eclipse the ammo cost easily.

      • Question didn’t seem to mention premium vehicles or event bonuses, and the base rewards seem to follow an exponential scale, so if the rest of the team did around the same amount of dmg/kills and you mainly dealt damage to higher tiers and beat the rest of the team in dmg/kills your profit gets boosted considerably because of the curve stacking with the tier bonus.

        • 200k can be done in most tier 8 premiums…Lowe,Kv-5,IS-8,T34,Type 59 for sure.
Not saying it is common or it is easy but doable.
I have remember having good rounds in these ones whereby I earned around 160-180k,provided I run premium account, but no specials or anything.
Vaguely remember even having some stellar defeats where I earned 140k with Lowe.Funny enough I was called a noob for that lol.
Needless to say did most damage and had most xp in my team.

          petya75

        • He was talking about players w/o prem account….so that is some heavy bullshit….200k is very hard to achieve even with t8 prem and prem account and without prem acc impossible

  6. ” – SerB confirms next patch will be 8.10″

I have an issue with “8.10″…

We’re on 8.9, not 8.09. The next increment from here should be 9.0, not 8.10.

    8.10 is 8.1… -.-

This is just idiocy, math is a universal language, how can a developer/vp fail at decimals.

    • How many times does it have to be said that version numbers is not a decimal? Quick. Go look up the version number of your OS. It probably sais 1.3.14.831 or something.

      • yes, but usually they still follow the decimal iteration, like 8.09.104 -> 8.10.012 for simple naming practices and how they’re organized in the file system. For instance drivers for both nvidia and amd/ati utilize the same scheme, as do pretty much every game out there that uses a decimal patch system, like WoW, EQ, Star Wars, etc: 312.04 -> 312.14 -> 312.71

        • Did you realize most of the western world omits the leading 0?
Or should it be written as “00000000312.0000005″ just so you are satisfied?

    • Because they aren’t failing at decimals. You can’t fail at decimals if there are no decimals.

The . in a version number is not a decimal but a period.

version 8 period 10 or update 10(but there is no icon for update)

        • Lol. You are an idiot.

Learn the difference between 8.10 and 8,10.
What the fuck do they teach you in school?

            • Some countries use the dot as a separator, like other people use the comma. Math is universal. Representation of math is not. Education in math even less.

    • this are not decimals, they are game versions, it’s the 10th patch of the version number 8

      • I just wonder where they did drop the 0… You know, it is still beta, so the right name is 0.8.10…

        • Because it’s easier to use and remember, just like when a company makes x.xx.xx build xxxxxx they’ll drop version # and just refer to it by build. It’s human nature to simplify things.

    • in the civilized world you use a ”,” to seperate decimals (like 1,5) and a ”.” for the rest, 8.10 =/= 8,10, 8,10 makes no sense 8.10 is logic… thats why u write a date 07.11.2013 with dots and not commas (except ofc for murica, but they have no clue anyway)

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimal_mark

and since a [dot] does not indicate a decimal they can number there versions whatever they want

and wot had strange numbers before anyway, see also this list of patches:
      http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index.php?/forum/106-patch-notes/

we even had patches with an x at the end (or going from 0.5.5 to 0.6.1.5 to 0.6.2.x ….)

      • WG’s versioning of public releases (0.X.X) is most likely just for simplicity’s sake, although because the game is compiled they probably use a major version and just use the build number as a reference, in reality you should really use a system like the following,:

        MajorVersion.FeaturesAdded.Patches

        http://semver.org/

    • @kittikatt: How they would know that it comes to 8.10? they started with 8.1, and nine patches later they realized that the patch won’t be big enough to be called 9.0 . What the hell is the deal? For me, it has at least some kind of logic… no need to do fancy “informatics” numbering, anyone with at least a bit of common sense will read it as a next version…
They don’t have prophetic powers, do they?
      Best regards,
      Hustodemon

    • nothing to do with math or decimals, would all the versioning retards fuck off and cry elsewhere please

  7. About that damaging another tank by ricocheting from another – it was possible long time ago. I have managed to do it 2 times total, since it is really situational. It was pure luck. First you had to hit one tank under the right angle so it bounces of to another and then damage it.

So yes, it was implemented once. I had no idea when did they remove it.

    • And one other thing about ricochets – once it was possible to hit one tank in UFP so it ricochets and damages it’s gun or turret. This is not possible any more?

      • I know my Sherman Jumbo occasionally takes damage from hits ricocheting off the mantlet or lower turret corner into the hull roof, at least.

        • yes, once a shell hits a tank it can damage only that tank, as it is only dealing with one tank and not the entire battlefield it will calculate richochets, e.g. UFP into turret. This is explained in full detail on the Wiki.

  8. - SerB states he’s not sure how much money can you make per one battle without premium account, he thinks it’s around 200 thousand credits

Is this trolling or there is at least one zero too much?

  9. “- SerB states that there are 4 spotcheck points on the hull (SS: points that serve to check if your vehicle is visible or not – if one of them gets spotted, the entire vehicle gets spotted): center of front hull, center of rear hull, center of side hull – and 5 on the turret (front, rear, side centers + “roof”)”

I seem to recall something (a video or discussion on spotting) a couple of years ago that if you are hiding behind a bush and any part of your tank shows (i.e. a part of the track), you can be spotted. This seems to contradict that.

    • nope, well known that it uses reference points, fully detailed on the Wiki too. even using just these reference points it takes ~70% (going by memory) of server resources to do visibility checks. Taking points from all over the tank would require super computers.

  10. “- SerB states that the S-70 gun could fit into IS-4 turret, but was not mounted in it in real life”

That huge naval gun fit? Surely with all 8° of depression it used to have? Doesn’t matter, M62 handles much nicer anyway.

    • It shares the IS-7 turret with four men, an autoloader plus its ready-rack and a coaxial HMG. Can’t be *that* large.

      • That’s offset by IS-7 having a ginormous turret. Turret length seems to be on par with modern western MBTs. It’d be nice if WG ever published their research as a book series, for one to see how they came to this conclusion.

        • See “four men” – TC, gunner, 2x loader – and “autoloader plus ready-rack”; I got the impression that last one occupied like the whole rear third or more of the turret.

          • I made a thread about IS-7′s loader thingamajig on EU forum. If you know what it was and how IS-7′s fighting comparment was arranged, please share. There are others as well who are curious.

I’m personally sceptical how would a particularly large gun like S-70 fit into tank that’s not specifically made to accommodate it. Turret ring being the primary concern here, and going by WoT models IS-7 has notably larger ring than IS-4.

    What about european tree? FFFFFFFUUUUUUU

  13. I hope the Obj. 430 doesn’t use the D-54TS. I’d rather the U-8TS, with different characteristics (e.g. more alpha, lower RoF).

They should fix the in-game guns names, too. The name for the T-62A and Obj. 140 gun is incorrectly ‘U-8TS’, although it is correct in the game files (D-54TS). Same with the Obj. 907, which has the D-54(M) mounted according to the game files, not the ‘D-54TS’ (this is evidenced by the fact it has the same pen as the T-54′s D-54).

    - “Dad, my tank is too cramped inside!!!”

    Serb’s answer:

    - “Working as intended! Dont like a tank? Dont drive a tank…”
