Storm is asking about bad MM in 8.10

Source: http://world-of-kwg.livejournal.com/266990.html

Hello everyone,

apparently, a problem came up with 8.10 MM, because Storm is asking, whether the Russian players had some bad MM setups lately (he mentions cases where one side for example has 3 tier 10 heavies and the other has 6). The newer the better and the more disbalance gets reported, the faster a solution will be found. This applies ONLY for patch 8.10.

From the discussion:

- the fact tier 10 arty sometimes gets balanced against tier 10 heavies is considered normal according to Storm
- developers do like patch 8.10
- there have been no (SS: intended) changes in MM in patch 8.10

And what about you? Have you run into weird MM cases in 8.10? Post them, including a screenshot (please, ONE link (any link) per comment, posts with more than one link get withheld in the spam queue and I won’t approve until I see it there, which might sometimes be with significant delay).

  1. Yesterday, (I think it might have been on Arctic Region) I got placed in a tier X match where we had two tier X arties, and the enemy got the same… only they ALSO got a tier X heavy and a tier X TD.

    • This is the way it has been ever since wg rebalanced the arties. Tier 10 matches tend to be imbalanced all the time. One team always gets more t10s while the other team gets nothing in return.

  2. Is the situation, when you are in platoon with two T3 tanks and you get into T5 battle where you are the only T3 in the whole battle (means that enemy has T4 as the lowest tanks tier) considered as normal ? Cause if it is not, I have screenshot too :D

      • Nothing wrong with that – it is actually BT7 battle, although without any T7s at all. I was once the only top tier with my WZ-131 (T6 LT) against T71, all others tier 5.
Not to mention it is 8.9, SS specifically “This applies ONLY for patch 8.10.”

    • What Manslayer said is right. That is proper MM(Although weird it breaks no rules) Its technically a Battle Tier 7 match. Every tank in that match can see Tier 7. Tier 6 lights see Tier 7 minimum. Tier 6 other tanks see Tier 7 as their middle battle tier. Tier 5 tanks see Tier 7 as their top tier. And Tier 4 light sees Tier 7 near its top tier.

Remember as long as all the tanks have at least 1 battle tier in common( In this case every tank in that match can see Tier 7) then its not breaking any MM rules.

  3. This sort of thing is nothing new, I have a screenshot of a tier 10 game where our team got 4 tier 10s and the enemy had 9.

  4. I could rant whole day about being on the bottom of the team in 9/10 games, but that’s like that way before 8.10 so doesn’t matter.

  5. had to sell my m8a1, because i’ve never seen a tier4 battle for a week.. always on the bottom against tier5s and tier6… maybe because i used to pwn everybody in lowtier battles, dont know

Yeah, that has been going on for like forever now you bloody idiot.

  7. I think they should bring back the old MM system. The 2 tier spread is just boooring. Back the day, it was much more fun.

  8. My only MM problems were that I got into far too many Tier6 matches in my (rather) useless Tier 4 tanks. It’s not like I didn’t wanted to be of any use.

  9. Nothing major yet except a Tier 10 map where the opposite team has 2-3 more tier 10′s, and 1-2 more tier 9′s. :-/

    Come freaking on, Wargaming.
