- SerB states regarding old (0 battle) accounts occupying “nice” names that there most likely will be a system, that will be renaming them automatically
- apparently SerB doesn’t think that the IS-6 competition will create a flood of IS-6 tanks, like it happened with Type 59 before
- there will be all three map types (desert, summer and winter) for lowtier tanks
- Q: “How much smaller are the tanks in game than they are in real life?” A: “That depends on your screen. On a 20 meter cinema screen, it would be roughly 1:1″
- the average life span of a tank in WoT battle is cca 4 minutes, for a plane in WoWp it is cca 2 minutes, as for the classes – the longest lifespan belongs to arty, the shortest – hightier scouts
- Wargaming participating in/sponsoring the Tank Biathlon? “Not even PR department deals with such stuff, that would be GR (Government Relations) department, which is even further from the development department than PR”
- turretless tanks will not have apparently anything flying off during an ammo rack explosion
- there is no plan to hand out 2-3 perk crews in connection with historical battles, you will have to grind them yourselves
- Storm adds regarding the War Thunder damage model that something like was tested some months ago internally for World of Tanks, the tests did not yield good results (“without perspective”), but states that even such a damage model will find its fans
- historical battles will have the same game mechanics as random battles (SS: eg. no hardcore mode or oneshots)
RE: “SerB states regarding old (0 battle) accounts occupying “nice” names that there most likely will be a system, that will be renaming them automatically.”
What about accounts that have long been abandoned?
Same
Finally, whats ETA on this? :3
They could change the name for it, and then when you get back, you can choose a new name
one thing is to purge 0 battles account and bot account and quite another to do it to people who took a very long break from the game
And what is their definition of “nice” name? They will not purge 0 games account, that would severely decimate the number of players and they like to brag about it.
Oh dear, I have played 0 battles since may (still haven’t buried my dead gpu and bought a new one), but I still use it in a way (openid). Don’t want to get purged T_T
those russkeys love to rewrite history
- there will be all three map types (desert, summer and winter) for lowtier tanks
HELL YES!
Indeed hell yes!, now I will have some use for my winter camo on my low tier tanks:)
I hope that in historical battles the HPs of the tanks of different tiers would be balanced. Like Tiger vs T-34 wouldn’t be fair when Tiger has 1500 HP and T-34 450.
was historically Tiger vs. one T-34 fair? :D
Was historically Pz III vs KV1 fair?
no ;)
It’s been previously stated that the current plan for historical battles is to balance the number of vehicles in both teams, so when you hop into T-34, you won’t be only tier V in your team with 7 Tigers on the other side (at least that’s how I understand it).
Yes, but the fact that T-34 needs to pen the Tiger 15 times is fucking stupid, like 1000 HP for the Tiger would be better.
Historically the Tiger had 1874 hp.
Everybody knows that.
lol shuttup u stupid nerd 1v1 me u pusy fgt
SerB: if you bring historical HP parameter, we will use them
Do you mean horse power? I am quite sure it was a more round number…
No, I he ment it as a joke on health points, even the Maus doesn’t have an engine that powerful.
- Storm adds regarding the War Thunder damage model that something like was tested some months ago internally for World of Tanks, the tests did not yield good results (“without perspective”), but states that even such a damage model will find its fans
Killing an enemy tank by shooting it in the copula is dumb. I hope Havok engine will tear these weaks spots off after a shot or two.
Probably wont. But if they will implement this, it will take a loong time, considering how WG works.
Why? tanks can and were destroyed by being hit in copula, during WWII.
Actually it isn’t as dumb as you’d think – the shell penetrating inside a copula can do massive damage to anything that’s inside the whole tank (they aren’t separated internally), crew, ammo, stuff. Bouncing, exploding, stuff like that.
And, of course, there’s really not a better system to work with them.
This is an arcade game based upon historical tanks. Not a tank simulator, want real tank warfare? Join the army.
It’s about balance, having the weak spot is fine just being able to repeatedly shoot it gets dumb whether you are dealing damage out or receiving it in that spot.
Balance > historicity
yesterday i played some WT-GF T34 and the stug was really fun, at last to shoot and blow a tank from 1000 meters. i like their DM, the KV-1 is very hard to crack, but those German TD actually 1 shoot them, on weekspots.
no hitpoints or healthbar shit
T-34 and StuG, learn to lable the tanks correctly.
Because the crew and modules don’t have hp parameter in wt… wt fanbois fail @ game mechanics forever.
The WT damage model is the reason why WT will never be as successful as WoT.
- Q: “How much smaller are the tanks in game than they are in real life?” A: “That depends on your country”
For instance the Obj 268 in real life is higher than a JT but in WoT is half as high. Funny that……. it being Russian and all
Really? If that is true then its obviously broken because it is getting a much better camo rating then it should.
Camo ratings 8.10
Name Standing Moving Shooting
Object 268 16.6% 10% 3.9%
Jagdtiger 10.7% 6.4% 2.8%
“For instance the Obj 268 in real life is higher than a JT ”
object: 2,5m
jt: 2,9m
Mhm…
>>For instance the Obj 268 in real life is higher than a JT
You can go to Kubinka, and check on 268 and JT for yourself.
268 is based on is8 hull
but in game
268 is smaller than is8
Whole lot of TDs/SPGs created from tanks are smaller than the original tanks…
Heh, if I understand correctly, tanks like T28 prototype, Wolverine, Hellcat, will have the abbility of turret ripping off? But that’s a bullshit, the explosion force will rip off only closed turrets, open turret wouldn’t fly off.
I think they also said for open turreted tanks that their turrets won’t fly off either. Only closed turrets where the pressure from the explosion wouldn’t have nowhere to go…
I haven’t noticed anything yet. I did ammorack Type59 (I think) yesterday and nothing new hapend …
It haven’t been implemented yet. When the havoc physics arrive, so does the flying turrets.
Today the Chief said Minsk may take a look at the M6A2E1 model size as well.
