- Storm states that there are no confirmed reports on Hidden Village FPS drops
- Storm confirms: the tier 8 Soviet premium medium candidate is the light T-54
- Storm states that the FOV changes in the 8.11 test are how it’s supposed to be – the FOV until now was “not correctly made and we got used to it”
- developers fixed the bug where some 8.10 visual camo patters (SS: notably the Soviet summer ones) look too “washed out” – he is however not sure whether this fix will make it to 8.11
- apparently, SerB believes Chi-Ri was inspired by Germans (SS: ….which is true I think, gotta ask though)
- Chi-Ri based TD in WoT? “No comment on future branch development”
- even after the 8.11 upgrade, the WoT engine will be different from the one in WoWp
- developers are not commenting on what’s going on on Chinese servers (the Chinese can actually buy the VK7201 for 200 USD or so), Chinese business model is independent on Wargaming
- SerB states, that the garage battles for tier 10 tanks only is “one of the variants” – it’s not sure yet how many tanks will be required to be in your garage for such a battle, SerB will have a look at the statistics to see, how many tanks does an average player have in garage

  1. - Storm confirms: the tier 8 Soviet premium medium candidate is the light T-54

    GimmeGimmeGimme naoooooo! Q__Q

    • I’m calling it now, the release of that tank will be a repeat of when the Type 59 was released. Well except they will probably sell it for 12k gold instead of 8k, it’ll still be mightily OP.

      • That’s why they implemented the new system of only releasing new prems on the gift shop. If in case it becomes too apparent too many people are buying it, it’ll be easily removed.

        • With these properties, T-54 will remain a medium, not a light:
          - upper frontal plate (60 degrees) from 120mm to 80mm (240mm EFF to 160mm EFF)
          - lower frontal plate (55 degrees) from 120mm to 80mm (209mm EFF to 139mm EFF)
          - hull side (0 degrees) from 80mm to 60mm
          - upper rear armor from 45mm to 20mm
          - lower rear armor from 30mm to 15mm
          - frontal hull roof from 30mm to 20mm
          - rear hull roof from 20mm to 15mm
          (http://ftr.wot-news.com/2014/01/05/t-54-model-1949-light-tank-variant/)

So I guess turret will be lowered somewhat 120mm and receives a 122mm gun. But anyway, it will be still a medium.

          • You have to count in normalization, i.e. I would put its effective armor well bellow 160 mm to 139 mm on upper plate against AP rounds. That is kind of paper I would say. Lower plate just bellow 125 mm against AP. That should be enough even for well placed 88L56 shot to get through.

        • Why in gods name would you want it as a light tank? The only benefits light tanks have is they have the same camo while stationary as they do while moving. Other than that you have to suffer scout matchmaking and have less HP.

Wow, they’re really lucky. So have they been able to buy the M60? And will they be able to buy the T95E6 and the Object 907?

What has changed exactly about this in 0.8.11?

    • Its just a little tighter (zoomed in a bit)
Whenever you scroll in with 3rd person, you’re tank seems a little closer than before.

To me honestly its a bit annoying… if everyone was used to it, why change it?

    • Lucky? Getting a tier 10 premium heavy with no credit income bonus for 200USD? That is a hell of a lot of money for chinese players… almost like a whole monthly pay in some parts. How is that lucky? The chinese devs are really greedy since they sell things like this for so much money,

    • We already have enough terrible (new) players buying tier 8 tanks and being burdens to a team. We don’t need brand new players buying tier 10s and being useless.

      • agree on that… there is no need to give out another ticked to the high tiers without any actual knowledge how to play them, and NO, spamming gold ammo doesnt mean you know how to play it…

all this crap for big wallets would be pure poison to the already questionable state of the game.

      • No but we do need some way for players not in clans to get the damn tanks. Its bs that they tease the t95e6 then slap us with the fact its going to be cw reward.

    • Yeah sure we Chinese are lucky. Having noobs that have played less than 100 battles as teammates in tier 10 vehicles is *tremendous* fun.
You know how they advertise those vehicles? “New to the game and wanna get into top level (tier, the two words are the same in Chinese) games in an instant? Buy the tier 10 *special* premium tank M60/VK7201 and your dream will come true!”
Tier 10 vehicles were never supposed to be premium vehicles, nor were they supposed to be purchasable. For a good reason. You guys, under the WG business model, are the lucky ones.

  6. Yet another T-54 variant, great. Don’t we allready have like a dozen of them?
It’s going to be the nightmare of any tier 7 meds it encounter, that’s for sure.

    • Well it’s a tier 8 candidate so we should compare them with other tier 8 but i do agree though with 160mm effective armor UFP the only 2 tier 7 meds can reliable pen it are T-34-1 and panther, the other meds either cant pen at all or will bounce with just a little angling. Hopefully the gun depression will be the same as T-54, accuracy, aim time and ROF is either the same or worse than T-44 then i can be happy that we have a prem tank weaker than it’s conterpart, the T-44. But i fear that WG gonna pull something out of their asses like a different “mount” or “breech” that “help” the gun so the gun depression magically have -7 like Type 59, same ROF but the same aim time and accuracy like on the T-54. Oh god.

      • More like 139 mm afer AP normalization on UFP … Lower plate around 124.5 mm. Good tier 6 driver should be able to harm it even when faced forward.

    • Those vehicles are instantly sent to your garage once you pay the price, there’re no “codes” for them.

  7. Only 46 tanks, no tier 10′s… Most of ones that I have are tier 5-6, so pls SerB don’t make garage battles tier 10 only – garage battle with mah 5′s and 6′s = much moniez.

      • I only keep those that I like. That means – when I’m back playing wot, I’ll spend lots of moneyz on garage slots. The first thing I do: re-buy M3 Lee!

      • I’ve got about 28 tenks, 9,5k games, and two tier 10. Quess i won’t be playing garage battles then.

            • If you can’t get to the end game which is tier 10 tanks easily enough, garage battles aren’t for you. stay at tier 5.

              • What kind of logic is this? What if I take my time, elite every tank, grind EVERY LINE at the same time? I have more than 10k battles and my top tanks are kv-3, amx 13 75 and gw panther. And guess what? I’m a better player than 99% of “must_have_tier_10_in_1k_battles” guys.

Garage battles should not be restricted to tier 10 – it just doesn’t make any sense.

                • Why not? I elited every tank, i played all lines and I have 95% of all tier 10 tanks in 26k games. And 190 ace masteries so no, not using free exp.
People who put the effort in deserve something special at the end game, and garage battle could be it. The rest who enjoy sitting at tier 5 are welcome to continue doing that.

                • CW and all it’s rewards are pretty much end-game content. If it’s possible to implement garage battles for all tiers – then why not? Hell, with garage battles it would be easier to grind exp and credits (assuming profits would be same as in randoms). I still don’t see any point, really.

              • Ho ho ho~
Show offs. @Daemonik: You must be one of those who ‘flashgrind’To top tiers and proceeds to undermine everyone who have less stats than yourself. What a waste of cash really…

  8. I never actually saw any difference in FOV in 8.11. It looks the same as in 8.10. Is there any screenshots/video that compares 8.10 and 8.11 where we can “see” the difference?

  9. >- SerB states, that the garage battles for tier 10 tanks only is “one of the variants” – it’s not sure yet how many tanks will be required to be in your garage for such a battle, SerB will have a look at the statistics to see, how many tanks does an average player have in garage

This is pretty good idea for end game content for non CW players :D

  10. - Storm states that the FOV changes in
the 8.11 test are how it’s supposed to
be – the FOV until now was “not
correctly made and we got used to it”

Dont know about others, but it really looks bad, disorienting and hurts my eyes.

  11. Another T-54 variant, lol. WG is trying to see how many of them they can fit into the game before it becomes ‘World of T-54 variant’.

  12. - SerB states, that the garage battles for tier 10 tanks only is “one of the variants” – it’s not sure yet how many tanks will be required to be in your garage for such a battle, SerB will have a look at the statistics to see, how many tanks does an average player have in garage

Tier 10 garage battles will be the fastest way to blow through 200k credits in repairs/ammo depending on how many tanks are a part of it.

    • I would say T62 better turret armor, quite reliable when hulldown is possible. Obj140 real nice side armor, front is stronger than on T62 (closer to T54), turret bit weaker, especially its roof if of french quality and also, obj has 1 degree better depression on gun. Clanmates prefer Obj140, I from my own trials prefer T62, but all in all it is almost the same. If you want, you can try them out right now on test server

  13. “Storm states that there are no confirmed reports on Hidden Village FPS drops”

I lose 20-30 fps every time I play that map, there is definitely something wrong with it.
