- Tiger P and Tiger H having different depression while using the same turret is a bug, it will be fixed
- there is a chance Sacred Valley will not return to random battles: Storm posted that it’s being reworked, but it’s a complicated case, so it’s not sure they will succeed
- Q: “Can we trust your answers in this thread?” A: “Of course not”
- the amount of maps available to new players on low tiers is limited in order for them to get used to the game better
- shader changes in 9.0 on HD tanks will be noticeable a lot
- currently, developers are focusing on releasing 9.0, but when it’s out, they will focus on reworking the vegetation (grass and trees) render
- the amount of HDtanks-per-patch will increase by every patch, the first batch in 9.0 consists of 12 tanks only, because the entire system of tank modelling was changed and it takes a while to get used to the new system
- Wargaming developed a “library” of common model parts, so it doesn’t happen that one tank has different-looking D-10T gun than another tank for example

        • I liked it too, it was hard to get anyone to do anything in pubs tho. always had to wait to see where everyone set up to try an get a win out of it. People didnt like cus they had no control over it…..imo.

          • I liked that map. Nothing like being able to drive a Tiger right down the middle of the map and Capping. Except driving a Excelsior down the other way and capping.

Though the Tiger was way more satisfying. When you’re top tier and half health Tier 6 mediums coming back to get the stupid light tank that’s trying to cap and running into me instead.

        • Its nice too, i think.
Just whiners makes maps die, just like Dragon Ridge and Port.
Port was OK, but too unbalanced sides, and because they will implement that you can shoot trough trains with just losing pen value, it could become nearly coverless map. Better make new one.
Dragon ridge, though, i liked that map. Whiners hated its numerous hills and arty was more useless than on the himmelsdorf. (tall mountains, you wasnt able to hit ANY of main battle points, barely even at other bases)

          • Yup, I really liked DR as well. Port was fine as well. Komarin is ok, but getting very predictable. Thats a great one side rush map, imo.

Mass rushes in pubs are fun, lotta adrenalin flowing, lol.

      • Meh…I didn’t particularly like it, but I didn’t hate it either, and it was much better than the other Asian maps (which isn’t saying much, as the others were aweful).

  1. Q: “Can we trust your answers in this thread?” A: “Of course not”
    Obvious.

  2. - Q: “Can we trust your answers in this thread?” A: “Of course not”
    Nice paradox.

  3. - shader changes in 9.0 on HD tanks will be noticeable a lot.

So if you’re in an HD tank you will probably get all gun pointed at you first.

  4. riddle me this why are all the T series heavies from the american line SO FUCKING HUGE compared to say the IS-3? the T34 has a 120mm gun while the IS-3 with the BL9 is a 122mm but the size of the T34s barrel is literally like 3X that of the BL9 not to mention the LOWE with its 128mm that is also smaller than the 120mm of the T34

    NONSENSE? you decide..

    • You mean the T53 gun, as found in the T34 and several TDs? Wasn’t that thing an older heavy AA gun repurposed into an AFV weapon, whereas the fancier Soviet 122mm’s are purpose-designed tank guns? The intricacies of specific barrel design patterns aside the newer models presumably also benefit from better manufacturing methods and metallurgy. Similarly the M103′s T122 gun (ie. its first 120mm) has a noticeably thinner barrel than the T53 and is of similarly later vintage.

On another note the D-25s also have noticeably thinner barrels than the T53, but that’s presumably because they’re derived from field artillery pieces and boast rather lower operating pressures than something meant to lob a 120mm shells half a dozen kilometers straight up.

Switching around the guns on my IS-8 in the garage sez that of the various Soviet 122mm guns the D-25 and BL-9 have more or less identical barrel thicknesses (metallurgy, presumably) while the big bad high-pressure M62 is noticeably thicker, BTW.

  5. “- Tiger P and Tiger H having different depression while using the same turret is a bug, it will be fixed”

Hmm, what? Wotwiki says both have -6 degrees of gundepression.

    • Because Wotwiki (english one) is outdated. Tiger H has i think 8 degrees of gun depression. Actually if they buff the Tiger P it would be very good news. Its rather underpowered since the Tiger H buff.

        • They buffed several german tanks beside Tiger H. It would not make any sense to nerf Tiger H now, but they should actually buff Tiger P since both of them have the same turret.

  6. ‘- Wargaming developed a “library” of common model parts, so it doesn’t happen that one tank has different-looking D-10T gun than another tank for example’

wff? This is straight-up bullshit (bad joke?). M68 looks different on M48/M60, U-8TS looks different on T-62A/Obj 140/Obj 430, etc. In particular, somehow the bore evacuators are a different size or in a different place.

Edit: or they mean in the future? -_- If so, fix up your tense SS…

  7. — currently, developers are focusing on releasing 9.0, but when it’s out, they will focus on reworking the vegetation (grass and trees) render

How about focusing on DirectX11 (and off of DX9) so when you do redo the vegetation render, it can be on a separate core. While you are at it, move track traces, weapon impact effects, and all other non-combat krap off to other cores.

Being non-combat means that any slight multi-core sync issues will not affect the outcome of the game.

    • Not everyone enjoys the benefit of having Windows 7 or Windows 8 (or doubtiously enjoys being cursed by Windows Pizda – err… Vista or Windows 8.1) on their PC / laptop, even though Microsoft is dropping the Windows XP support… also, not everyone found the need to update to DX11-capable graphic card… for example, in my home country (the Czech Republic), the XP is suspected to still being used on about one fifth of all PCs or laptops… not to mention, that in Russia or other CIS countries, where WG has the biggest earnings, the amount of non-DX11 and non-DX10 opperating systems is much higher…
Yeah, the ability to have all this DX11 eyecandy stuff would be great, but dropping DX9 seems highly unlikely… and there are much more pressing concerns than DX11 support (for example multithreading, graphics as whole – no point of having DX11 when you have fugly environment, game balance, etc.)

      • You do not have to drop Dx9 to get DX11 as they can both be in the client at the same time. For that matter, so can OpenGL.

Also, DX11 does not require DX11 hardware for must functions. Worst case you will get DX11 multi-treading on DX9 hardware with some DX11 eyecandy.

If you have XP then you can still benefit from multiple threads, just not as smoothly as in DX11.

This is why I suggested moving the non-combat stuff off the main thread since any sync issues are non-critical.

        • ok, sorry, I missunderstood…
now it makes sense… good idea :) (though dunno if implementable)

          • Sure it is. There are many games that support multiple render engines in the same game client.

            • Dunno if i got this correctly, but WoT already supports two renders(standard and improved graphics) in same client.

              • That’s different. The in game setting is just compartmentalization of various graphics settings. We’re talking about the software libraries that do the actual work of drawing the game.

  8. I think WG will release the 9.0 when WT say when they will release the ground forces and as we can see, the WG is using info from WT to change their own game.

PS: It’s good to know that there is competition!! WG vs WT ….. its good think, because they can not ignore the community anymore! :D

    what can we expect?

    new spot system,
new MM system ” better one”
Fix old bugs and new ones.
optimize the system for a better experience for low computers

    sooo cool :D

    • +1
like Gaijin tried to learn form WG’s mistakes when producing WT: Ground Forces… It is only natural that WG reacts by using what Gaijin has done right… and we (WoT fans) and WT fans will only benefit form the competition… :)

    • Or WG will copy EVERYTHING from WT:GF to WoT blindly to leech some WT fans… and those “new things” would suck horribly… (seen that method in other company’s games [i'm looking at you EA...])
