- FV4202 replaced by another vehicle? “No comment until new vehicles are officially announced”
- in the future, many more HD tanks per patch will come, right now, developers are working on the mass production mechanism
- there will be no option to switch from new autoaim to the old one


- the new autoaim target is defined as “the point in the middle between the place where turret is attached to the tank and the center of the tank bottom”
- Storm on why the repairs and ammo are not for free in training rooms: “For us it is not very profitable, when players spend a lot of time in training rooms. Therefore this works as a limiting factor of sorts.”
- apparently, in historical battles, some tanks do have (visual) camouflage and some don’t (like the T-34 on Erlenberg map). This is intentional.
- T-34-3 is fine statistically
- special visibility checks (on tanks) happen when a) tank shoots b) tank starts moving c) tank stops moving
- Storm states that disabling triple buffer has only effect on minilags and maybe a tiny bit on FPS
- Storm states that the FPS drops are not caused by one big issue, but s lot of small ones (as in, for example unoptimized sound plus unoptimized render)
- developers are also checking the sound system of the game for optimization
- according to Storm, sound engine doesn’t work on different thread, it is one of the first candidates for “transfer” to other threads
- in 9.0, the graphic autosetting mechanism was completely reworked, that’s why it detects and sets different levels of settings than in 8.11, it utilizes a sort of “minibenchmark”, that’s why it sometimes “lags”, earlier, it did set the settings simply based on the computer parameters
- Marder and other lowtier tanks will appear in Kursk, once the developers implement separate tank statistics for historical battles
- Storm confirms: 9.1 will bring new game mode for clans (SS: “Stronghold”)
- there will be no new tanks in 9.1, not even premiums
- tier 8 Soviet medium prem is not on supertest yet
- the 10 worst maps will not be removed for now
- client tournament interface and Team Battles 2.0 will come this year
- developers are still thinking how to deal with gold ammo: Storm confirms that the availability/properties of gold ammo do influence that tank balance, the question is very complicated

  5. Instead of having 2 different stats for both historical and normal battles…
    Why not fucking redo the damned tier-to-tier balance?
    There is a GIGANTIC leap in Health in tier 4,5,6 and 7. As in GIGANTIC. The leap from 8 to 9 and 10 is much smaller and much more balanced for the tanks.

    • T3 light/med in T5 battles = pain
      T4 light/med/heavy in T6 battles = pain
      T5 generally ain’t all that bad in T7, that also applies for T6 in T8 battles, not stellar, but doable.
      T7 meds (some) in T9 battles = pain, other classes are okayish.

      TDs are generally ok, they mostly have the guns for the job. It’s not just about HP, but also guns

      Otherwise it is meant to be challenging…another thing is the MM trollling with getting mostly into such battles :)

      Edit: T4 Pz IV with the L/43 is actually quite dangerous even to T6 when played right & those big guys dismiss such puny tank :D

    I sure as hell hope they won’t fuck it up, because as WG usually works, it’s gonna take 2-3 patches of the classical “clean your PC from dust and malware” kind of excuses.

    I get that it takes time to get a lot of info, which you need to find out what is wrong, but IMHO that should be the job for supertesters and test servers and such, better release a patch every 3-5 months than push one every 2 months and not do it properly.

    I don’t want to sound obvious, and I want to point out that I’m noones fanboy, but just look at WT:GF. They gonna take months to release, maybe even months to get open beta for them. Sure, some people will fuck off because they don’t want to wait. That is only for the good.

    Also, if devs take stuff people post into comments on a blog that “only” brings news about WoT as a way to find out what’s bad (talking about Storm) about the new patch, the fuck they have customer support for? It’s basically saying Yep, our customer support doesn’t work, please post it somewhere where we have to look it up every time, don’t even bother with sending the stuff directly to us.

    LIES, ALL LIES! The tank is so ridicously situational it makes unicums cry, I own one because I love fast big guns, but in most of the maps it’s a bitter disappointment, small hills? “F–K you t-34-3 drivers!”.
    Then again, I’m not a very good player, lol but 2 degrees more depression wouldn’t be too much to ask I presume.
    SS I hope you can make your spies work overhours to get to the bottom of the fv4202 issue, I believe something is about to happen with it :)

    • “Not lies!…” FTFY :P but seriously the T-34-3 is my favorite tank in the game. I played the Chinese since they came out so I am used to the no gun depression and most people who complain about the gun depression either don’t play Chinese tanks or don’t play them enough. It requires experience in the Chinese like to use it well. Hilly maps are no problem to good T-34-3 drivers. They can get a little annoying occasionally when you misjudge or don’t notice a bump when you are trying to aim but for the most part, hills aren’t problems.

      Also, 2 degrees more gun depression is too mush to ask. That’s a massive gun strapped to a low profile tank. 2 more degrees of gun depression would mean the part of the gun inside of the tank would need more room to go up and the turret would, in turn need to be taller. Which would then add more weight making the vehicle slower meaning you’re an easier target because you’re slower and taller :P

  8. I’m interested to know. I have it researched but not purchased and want to get a feel for the best course of action. That is, should I purchase and elite it or ignore it altogether. Or some other action.

  9. Just another bug for the patch. I found that on my Panther it has swapped my turrent emblems around. I have different on each side and they changed sides. This has happened with other tanks in other patches. The Matilda BP was one such.

    On the Tiger 1 is simply deleted the emblem on the right side and left the left side unchanged.

    A ticket is in, now just waiting for them to ask for pics of before and after. Like I deliberately take screeneshots of all my tanks from both sides before every patch. I have now though.

    duno about that, its better since it theoretically would mean less gun penetration shots, but than again RNG is always there.

    Easy solution, just limit the number of gold ammo one can carry. They can do it for Historical Battles.

    • Simple for you to spout such nonsense solutions, you’re not the one running a business with its profits heavily influenced by gold use.

      Of course they want you to carry a ton of ‘gold’ ammo since eventually you’ll need to use gold to buy more if you spam it like a noob.

      It’s about balancing potential profit loss.

        • I think what he meant is, that in order to spam gold ammo you have to get either a premium account or several credit-farming premium tanks, so not to get bankrupt. Therefore, benefit for WG.

    First statement from a WG-Official I truly believe.
    When I look how the code of WOT performs he will at least not think a second about best practices in software developement.
