it seems that EU server (not sure it applies anywhere else) is getting a free garage slot, courtesy of Wargaming! From today:
Apparently, what happened is they resetted the Karl mission (since Karl mode was, on popular demand, prolonged to 7.4.2014) and it added the slot again. Currently, it’s not sure whether this is a bug or it was intended (considering free stuff is usually heavily advertised, my money’s on bug) and whether it will be removed.
So I’ve done a couple of Italian tank articles now and I haven’t done the most famous of all; the Fiat 2000. I also must thank Zarax too for his help with this one too.
Having witnessed the success of tanks in France in 1917 Italy set out about obtaining FT-17 and Schneider tanks from France. Fiat however perhaps sensing a lucrative contract in the offing had started designed a Special Assault Tank as early as August 1916 before any official Italian Government interest.
This design was finally ready in January 1918 in the form of the Fiat 2000.
A popular misconception I have noticed is that ground attack aircraft were used successfully as “tank-busters” of “tank-killers”, and that aircraft were seemingly the largest threat to tanks. I know some of you don’t think this, but I think a good portion of you might. I will focus my attention on the AT abilities of the Hawker Typhoon and the P-47 Thunderbolt against German armor. I will also quickly go over examples from the Eastern Front.
In NW Europe the Typhoon and the P-47 are regarded as an effective weapon against German Armor. CAS pilots claimed hundreds of panzers dead due to their bombs, rockets, and cannons. The problem is that this just isn’t true.
- for now, a hardcap on SU-152′s in Kursk battle has not been implemented
- this year, Chinese and Japanese TD’s and SPG’s will definitely not come
- Storm states that in order to implement historical battles like Korea and Middle East, you have to implement the crews of the nations, that fought there, it would look really strange to have Soviet crews in Yom Kippur or American crews in Indo-Pakistani conflict, that’s why Korean historical battles will likely not come for now
- collecting the info on new Chinese vehicles is going very, very slowly, WG is instead focusing on re-work of existing vehicles to HD
- it’s completely possible that the turret armor of other T-54-like vehicles (Chinese) will be reworked, when they are remodelled to HD
- Chaffee in test 3 has its old turret back, because the new one was put in accidentally and has many bugs (SS: Chaffee re-work is planned for the introduction of hightier US lights)
- Storm confirms: LT’s will be buffed and new tier 8 LT’s will be introduced
- tier 9 LT’s? Storm: “Hell if I know. For now, they are not being sought. We barely found tier 8″
- SK-105 Kurassier will definitely not fit WoT: it’s too modern
so, I downloaded the latest version of the 9.0 test (the one that’s supposed to be “final”) and, well…
No, it was a disaster. Let me start by noting that in previous rounds, I had zero problems with this patch. Everything worked for me and I ran the game with the same amount of FPS on same details (high model details) as in 8.11. Garage loaded just fine, here are the two new models:
now, you might have noticed there aren’t that many WG fails posted lately (probably due to the fact that I don’t pay attention to them that much as well as because WG EU started paying attention), but every now and then, there is this “special” Wargaming employee, who deserves attention in order to demonstrate, what kind of people are out there dealing with your issues.
Meet Tw1nvop1, a Customer Support employee. In the Czech section of the EU forums, there is a mod-related sub-section and recently, there was a discussion, whether the 8x zoom mod is illegal or not. The discussion was – well, as any usual player discussion. But wait, here comes Tw1nvop1, with guns blazing!
“Hello, normally I don’t write any posts on the forums, but this topic entertained me :) Aren’t you rascals, using mods and all! :)
Clarification -> I suggest not to use any mods, because they compromise the structure of the client and some of them are even able to damage computer hardware.
Conclusion -> A lot of people can play even without them and their results in battle are much better than of those players, using mods.
And yes, unless the mod provides some advantage, which I really can’t see no matter whether the zoom is 3x or 300x, it’s allowed. By the way, I am not sure that if you continue to oppose me in this opinion, you will find a single relevant objection, proving the opposite”
So, there you have it, don’t use mods – they can destroy your hardware! Also, sniper zoom mod seems to be completely legal (funny, thought it wasn’t, because you know, aiming 300x across El Halluf does seem advantageous to me).
Either way, the support guy continued to ramble on, calling players demagogues and such. I don’t know, I really wouldn’t feel “safe”, knowing this guy handles my tickets. I mean – mods destroying hardware?
