  1. Ahhhh….Multiturret, the mechanism used in only 5 different tanks (by my count, could be wrong) and ‘could’ improve the gameplay of all those tanks.

      • The B1 and Churchill are on that list, the others are the Lee, The T-35 and…..okay, maybe it’s 4 tanks that can use it. But otherwise, I highly doubt it will change gameplay at all.

        • I guess, but they could be at least a bit usefull against targets with paper armor.
The Maus and its 75mm in the turret besides the main gun could seriously damage french tanks while the 12,8 is reloading.

          • If by that you mean doing some damage to the Lorraine or the 13 90?
It can’t even pen the Bat-Chat frontally and barely from the side.

        • And the FCM F1, the Tracteur C 1939, the Tracteur C 1940…Multiturrets are a french touch :)

          • Oh, and I forgot to mention as well: the Maus had two guns, the main 128 mm gun and a coaxial 75 mm gun (the latter of which was most likely used to assist in aiming but could possibly be useful against a pesky Batchat or Leopard 1), and the E-100 may have been intended to have a 50 or 75 mm coaxial gun as well.

        • The following tanks qualify as well:

FCM F1 (French superheavy tank concept – made it to at least mock-up stage and possibly an incompleted prototype before the fall of France in 1940)

Vickers Independent (British multiturreted tank that inspired the T-28 and T-35)

Grosstraktor (German heavy tank prototype, though classified as a medium tank)

Neubaufahrzeug (German heavy tank prototype, though classified as a medium tank – used briefly in the invasion of Norway)

SMK (Russian heavy tank – later modified into the KV-1 by removing one of the turrets)

T-100 (Russian heavy tank – competitor to the SMK to replace the T-35)

KV-4 (Russian superheavy tank concept – one of over twenty designs is present in the game to a degree, but all of them were multigunned vehicles with a 107 and 45 mm gun)

          KV-7 (Russian dual-gunned heavy tank)

O-I (Japanese superheavy tank concept – may or may not have actually been built)

    • Well, if anything, M3 lee would be able to use the 37mm which would be completely useless. They’d have to implement multiple gun mechanism, because there are a lot of tanks with guns both in turrets and hulls (B1, Churchill, Chi-Ri) which would be kinda useful.

      • Ye, but the balancing could be a problem.
I mean, look at the MTLS premium tank. The gun is a killer on that tank. No wonder it is not on sale.

          • Only one of the MG’s is made to penetrate armor. The other one is simply MG34, that was… Well just an MG…
You can search for some info on the EW141 if you want… It fired AT Rifle rounds (7,92x94mm rounds made for Panzerbüchse 38 and 39)

            • IIRC the Pz I C gun is only semi-automatic historically. In-game gunner has insane trigger finger. :-D

      • Actually the 37mm on the M3 Lee would be of some use, you be a n00b otherwise. You could fire it in the ass on someone, that would be a nasty surprise that I would not like

        • It’d be really useful for pumping rounds into light tanks as they try to circle you, which is one of the Lee’s major vulnerabilities.

      • It could be used to shoot the tracks off of a circling light or medium tank to give you time to turn around and put the 75 mm gun to work.

    • In-game tanks that have secondary guns that could be of some use in anti-tank combat:

      B1 (75mm)
      KV-4 (37mm)
      Maus (75mm)
E-100 (I believe the 128mm gun setup has a 75mm cannon above/below the main gun)
      M3 Lee (37mm)
      Churchill I (76.2mm)
      Somua SAu 40 (37mm)
      ARL V39 (37mm)
AMX AC model 1948 (AA battery of unknown caliber)

  2. - new sounds are being worked on, apparently they will be cool

WG have used “cool” with many things which ended up being totally opposite. But, since they have been “working” on the sounds for, what, 1 year?, they must be at least better than the generic ones we have now.

    • I’m affraid “cool” will be just different than what we have now. Another set of boring generic sounds.

      • and that will totally happen because hey, WT makes stuff WORK instead of twiddling their thumbs leaving you with a broken shit game all the time.
¿WT promised multiturret system you know when?, in patch 7.4, yes, when they introduced french tanks….
And on Wt with REALISTIC reloads and DM system a multiturret tank is a real threat

      • it all just depends on how fast you can react, if you’d be able to turn your camera fast enough then you could fight off 2-3 tanks at the same time. Watch how the front 45mm turret goes to the “stock” position after the camera is out of it’s arch, you just basically need to “look” with the turret you want to fire from.

Nice, simple,. cheap, easy to understand feature. Good lord even if WG wanted to go through the way of “press this key to change weapons/turrets”, how about looking at the freaking browser game called Endless war: Defense … you press one key to switch guns (if more than one is present in the turret) and you press another key to change turrets/gun systems (hull mounted weapons/turrets).

If a closed beta test of a game that has been in develompent for a fraction of WoT’s lifespan, and a browser game can do it, make it work, be easy to use and intuitive to controll, then I call Bullshit on all of the WG’s excuses regarding multiturret mechanism. For a company that makes several hundreds of millions $, (even though “Profit for the year (2012)” is “only” almost 6.2million €), that should be a question of having two guys to do it in a week.

        • So the first concept is basically: Depending of were you are aiming, different turrets go active and inactive, rigth?

  3. I bet after Wargaming realises Gayjin has multiturrets now (which they apparently made the cheapest and dumbest way possible), they will rush in making it too.

        • hahahah i like the way you think sidewinder.

why do you thing wargayming hasn’t released MT system yet?, because they don’t know how to make it EZ_controllable by the lowest common denominator of hordes of shit-tards that are the main playerbase in WOT…(wow, god forbid you have to use a KEY to change gun!, now would that be sooo hard?)

          • There’s more than just the controls, there’s a buttload of changes that have to be made

            - The ammo/consumable screen has to be able to fit all ammo for all the guns.
            - The garage interface has to display the ammo loadout for all guns.
            - In-game screen has to be modified to accommodate the ammo at the bottom of the screen.
            - In-game screen has to be modified to show each gun reload time (and not make it confusing which reload pertains to which gun).
            - In-game hotkeys to switch ammo for each gun has to be made (2 or 3 types of ammo per gun, 2+ guns per tank => tons of new buttons to implement).
            - If guns are switched via button press, that has to be implemented, and there needs to be a display showing you what gun you are aiming.
            - Each tank with multiple guns have to get their damage model re-made (the new guns have to be damageable, and module/crew for each gun as well).
            - Damage indicators to the lower left of the screen have to display each gun’s condition.
            - Tank rebalancing (adding a new gun to a tank will significantly change the way it is played)

            Et cetera, et cetera…

            • i’ll answer step by step:
              - The ammo/consumable screen has to be able to fit all ammo for all the guns. —> it’s a garage UI thing, not overly complicated

              - The garage interface has to display the ammo loadout for all guns. —>same as before

              - In-game screen has to be modified to accommodate the ammo at the bottom of the screen. —> not really, when you switch guns it will switch the ammo type for that gun below, thus you keep the SAME ammo slots as you have now.

              - In-game screen has to be modified to show each gun reload time (and not make it confusing which reload pertains to which gun). —> again, not really, when you switch guns the UI will only show the active gun, why do you need to know the reload of other guns in background?(let mods do that)

              - In-game hotkeys to switch ammo for each gun has to be made (2 or 3 types of ammo per gun, 2+ guns per tank => tons of new buttons to implement). —>like i’ve said before, not needed

              - If guns are switched via button press, that has to be implemented, and there needs to be a display showing you what gun you are aiming. —> a simple TEXT overlay showing the active gun is all that’s needed

              - Each tank with multiple guns have to get their damage model re-made (the new guns have to be damageable, and module/crew for each gun as well). —>the crew is already there mostly(except for T35 for example maybe T28) , DM for the guns DO need to be added to the model

              - Damage indicators to the lower left of the screen have to display each gun’s condition. —> yes

              - Tank rebalancing (adding a new gun to a tank will significantly change the way it is played) —>i wouldnt say significantly, but yes they need to balance that as well but they alreayd have the tools for that

  4. - multiturret mechanism will definitely not arrive this year

Well you have many tanks that could use this.

    TOG(several options)
    B1 (series)
    M3 Lee
    Churchill(several)
Maus (7.5cm L/36 (rifled to 34cal iirc) spits out HEAT shells)
    T-35
    Char 2C at some point.

  5. - multiturret mechanism will definitely not arrive this year

Damn! I know that’s not the most needed thing in the game, but how hard can it be to implement that?

    • It’s not tough to implement it. It’s tough to make it work in an intuitive way that allows you fighting from more turrets at once. To be honest, I have no idea how you’d do that in a game where fractions of seconds matter without at least a half a second or a second delay – which is too long. Also the number of accidentally shot teammates might skyrocket if implemented wrong. This thing needs HEAVY testing and aside from being cool won’t bring much more to the game, really.

      • Yes, I basically said it doesn’t bring alot to the game, but it’ll still be really cool and still there is a margin of people who are really waiting for this, me included (with the T-35 ;_;).
Also it’ll give those slacker supertesters something to do.

        • You mean it’ll give them something to do other than abusing the experimental roaming function to troll players on the live servers with tanks that aren’t even out yet.

  6. “- multiturret mechanism will definitely not arrive this year”

Pssst… Hey Minsk, go visit your guys in Saint Petersburg. I hear they’re working on these vehicles that have multiple turrets. Different arcs of fire. All sorts of neat stuff.

  7. “- Storm now posts more rarely because he’s swamped in work”
you mean fixing all the shit they’re broke on 9.0?

or trying to release everything they had promised would be on 9.0 and didn’t made it?

    • No need to release anything new in the next patch, just fix the current mess:
      - never had sound stutter/jitter
      - never had tanks disappearing under 100 meters in front of me in plain sight
      - never had tanks remain hidden even in 50-60 m radius after they shot

      …welll, now I do! :)

      • - never had tanks disappearing under 100 meters in front of me in plain sight
        - never had tanks remain hidden even in 50-60 m radius after they shot

err then i dont know what game you’ve been playing but certainly not WOT, because both of those things are “FEATURES” of world of stupid broken game mechanics.
we’ve always had tanks dissapear under 100m and cheater tanks that remain hidden all the time until you go below the 50m “absolute detection range”

  8. Was looking up multi-turreted vehicles and I found this thing.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T-42_super-heavy_tank

Not heard of it before and it wasn’t mentioned by anyone else here.
Would make a cool Russian premium to rival the ToG II* if this is in fact a real project.

The x2 45 mm guns it uses has in-game stats of 51mm pen (88mm gold). With a multi-turret mechanism, it could use those to tear up flanking scouts or low armoured mediums.

  9. - new sounds are being worked on, apparently they will be cool

Good now get rid of the new tank exploding sound, it just sounds cheap and generic and there is no way an exploding tank really sounds like that. It sounds like someone put a firecracker in a soda can.

  10. No multiturret this year? Dammit. z: j

I absolutely want them to introduce multiturret. British Mark V as a Tier 1 prem heavy. TOG I with 3x2pdr gun and howitzer. Lots of mid-tier heavies with hull mounted derps. Polsten 20mm on mid-high tier Brits for tracking tanks, cheap light-tank killing and cover destruction… these are all things I want. z: )

  11. SS, I will never again waste my time reading comments. All the qqabove, well, is sickening. So some of u love wT, then stfu and go play it. Others hate WOT, then uninstall and go play something you can rule at, ala Sims.
I started playing around 5.0 or so. While they might not have everything in the game, that they should by now, they are totally heading in the right direction.
People whine and cry about wanting something now, so they get it, and well, its really not ready for release. Then those same crybabies whine more about stuff being fucked up.
Just STFU and play your free game like the badies that you are.

    • You are entitled to your opinion. Other people are entitled to theirs.

      • You are entitled to your opinion, however WRONG it is….
And to absolutely destroy your piss poor argument:
i’ve grown to despise wot and what do you know, i rule at it and when you reach certain level of play/time invested the glaring problems the game always become a showstopper and impossible to ignore.
And this i tell you ignoring all the fail the development has, purely from a gameplay perspective some core mechanics are broken and wont be “fixed” because it’s an intricate part of their “experience”
