these are the descriptions of the 9.1 awards. The problem is, in English, they are named differently (for example the Russian award “Monolith” is in English called “Rock Solid). Thus I will be using English names here:
“Fire and Steel”
(Russian name: “tempered by combat”)
for getting 25 times the highest amount of damage blocked by armor (“potential damage”) while surviving, only wins count, team battles only
“Heavy Fire”
(Russian name: “sniper reserve”)
for being 100 times 1st, 2nd or 3rd in damage done of all players in battle, only wins count, team battles only
“No Man’s Land”
(Russian name: “fight to the last”)
for a battle, where ALL tanks are completely destroyed (both teams at the same time), awarded to both teams, team battles only
“Promising Fighter”
for being 100 times 1st, 2nd or 3rd in XP recieved of all players in battle, only wins count, team battles only
“Pyromaniac”
for setting an enemy on fire 10 times, team battles only
Interestingly enough, there is one more award, that was not mentioned in the test patchnotes, it was apparently forgotten
“Jaeger”
for damaging or destroying an enemy that you cannot see 10 times, only hits that cause damage count, team battles only
Why don’t they introduce these medals in randoms? Would fit perfectly fine and add a bit more fun.
To make players play more team battles. Simple.
They could do the same with historical battles.
First of all they should add some medals and additional XP and creds for best players in random teams that lost (with some minimal requirements of performence). Only last evening I was four times best XP-wise in totally retarded teams, which died in 2 minutes. 4 times in 7 battles! After third such battle I raged and quit, came back after 2 hours and…. kabooom! Another such battle. Fucking annoying… And I am not some stellar unicum who trained, watched other unicums, learned tricks, maps, I am just decent player with some brain. Who the fuck plays this game?
Massive wankers and morons. Mostly in the weekends. I have simular experiences and it has forced me to play a lot less lately.
Definitely do not understand this flood of achievements. One of the last things for experienced players was to hunt for medals. Now? Who will hunt 30 new medals every single patch?

So the question is = why the medals are in the game?
My answer is – “Because of hunting them”.
I take it Jaeger is meant to be Hunter..?
Hunter is already in the game actually (for destroying the German “big cat” tanks I think), that’s why I used a different word, not to mess them up.
Since Jaeger (or rather Jäger) is German, a better English translation might be Tracker?
Jäger means literally hunter on German so how the fuck did you get “Tracker” translation?
He probably meant something in the likes of a Silent Stalker. Funnily enough, we have our own here ;P
“Jaeger” could be renamed to “deer hunt” ;)
Well, last one can have bad conotations or RU servers :) Deer = olen = noob So maybe it was scrapped? :)
I for one don’t care much about WOT’s medals.
If medals came with some reward that helps you grind out more tanks, like a credit bonus or crew training bonus that would be great.
But WOT introduces new medals to get people to play their failed team battle mode, no one cares, how terrible!
Hmm…again team-battle medals?…got tired of them already.
