Well, it’s been a month or so since there was any real update in the original QA thread on RU forums where Storm and SerB used to answer. SerB moved on to other things apparently (WoWs) and Storm is still on vacation, but that original thread is dead. Makes it a bit harder to gather info (more pages/discussions to run through), but that’s okay, I can do it, just takes a bit more time to stay on top of things.

- Tanitha confirms that current historical battles format will be removed in 9.2:

“The current historical battles installed in 9.1 are due to be removed in 9.2 (which is normal since historical battles were originally scheduled to be replaced with new ones every update). However with 9.2 new historical battles wont be installed, and the mode will hit redevelopment. We are not currently seeking additional feedback on historical battles, as the mode is likely going to hit heavy redevelopment, and be altered a lot.”

- the piece of info that US light tank branch comes in 9.3 is preliminary and might be changed
- no info on whether M47 Patton appears in the game or how
- FV4202 changed into another tank in the future? ” Its being looked at for an overhaul, but not in the short future, more like end of 2014. Its too far away for anything to be finalized yet.”

  3. WG, just replace the M46 with the M47. Do it.
    What the tank gets:
    - slightly faster
    - slightly better frontal armor
    *Also a buff to accuracy will help

    It is not unusable, but power creep has kinda made it sub par in comparison to other tier 9 meds. These small changes that we gain with M47 will deffinitely help!

    Possitives to WG:
    -M46 Patton in historical config CAN be SOLD as a premium tank. OR Experimental M46 with M47 turret.

    • I’d rather they replace the M46 with a tier 9 M48A1 [which would be balanced similarly as a Centurion 7/1] and then WG gives us an M60A1 as a non-premium tier 10.

        • WG *could* try and differentiate between M60A1 and regular M60 where the only difference between the two is some very minor detail. It wouldn’t be much, but fuck it. If the Germans get a Leo 1, USA should get some sort of non-premium M60.

    • It’s one of my favorite tanks as it is. Slightly better frontal armor will not change much, cause power creep is the problem – armor wont save you anyway. Lower tiers can be out-dpmed by changing two hits for one. Changing accuracy and gun soft stats is ok, it will make exposure time shorter.
      It is more balanced than fatton, that has good gun soft stats and that’s all. It plays more like centurion 7, but turret is bigger target, it has no camo to outspot nearly anything despite 420m view range, it can’t hide in some bushes useable by other meds, and track repair time is a bad joke, cause any medium can permatrack you even with full repairs on crew and you can be easily hit into cupola by tank that you cant even see. When you can deal with that limitations it’s quite ok, but …

    • Despite the initial enthusiasm HB have been a failure. Specifically because many people wanted to play their favorite tanks with their top configurations (KV-1S I see you and your 122mm) instead with the historical ones (KV-1S and its 76mm). That made almost everybody select the most powerful tank allowed and thus made the MM job impossible with long waiting times and usually ending in time-outs.

      • Only here in EU / NA… But i doubt it that nobody plays it in russia. After all, Storm said that they were aiming for the 5% players (who play this mode).

  8. So they pushed HB on Serb’s demand (and a few players) and now they have to rework it so that anyone bothers playing it? I don’t understand why they thought it would be successful in the first place i expected it to suck and it indeed did. Better should have saved those development resources on something more important like havoc.

  12. The top turret for M46 is the M47 turret, so it’s in the game as a part of M46. They will probably add a second hull for it, one that was the M47
