Just a quick update: Evilly confirmed that everything in this summary is true (yes, including the free FV4202).

Furthermore, he confirmed that the Firefly branch will be half MT (M2A4, M3 Honey, M3 Grant, British Sherman, Firefly) and half TD (Challenger/Avenger, Charioteer, Conway, FV4005 Stage 2).

Next patches should also bring new improved bot-detecting function.

      • Do you also experience a lot of derpy shots from the 105 mm L7. Like you aim at an enemy untill the reticle almost settles… then the enemy discovers you and snaps their turret in your direction only to hit your weakspot while your, by now, fully aimed shot just goes off into the distance.

      • Agreed, Centurion I is not the very best tank on its tier. Somehow in my hands it can’t get the damage, nor the kills in the same levels as other T8 tanks..
        But, hey – at least after a week or so it will be easy to pen every other T8 enemy, because those all will be another Centurions :D

  6. I really just don’t get the point of the 4005 Stage 2 thinking about it. It’s basically the exact same as the current 183 as far as I can tell but with a shitty glass turret?

  8. Hmm so my run for the FV begins with Cromwell(with 18k exp on it) i hope to get the Comet during the gamescom event discounts and in a week or two to get the first Centurion. I only hope they don’t make the change in 8.3

    • They won’t. 8.3 content is already announced. Introducing a new branch of tanks is enough to fill the content for an entire patch, so I think its safe to assume that there will be a whole patch dedicated to its introduction (which means there’s no way they squeeze it in to 8.3).

  10. M3 Grant ? Rly ? No other better candidate for this slot ?

    Its the exact same shit as M3 Lee…I could not bring myself to finish this tank in beta times and I cant do this now…I’m seriously thinking to buy gold and free exp just to skip this shit.

    It could be somewhat playable if not the fact that the main gun is in the hull. Put the M3 onto turret and we can roll, basically a even more crappy T4 version of M4A2E4.

  13. I don’t fully get the reason for giving the prem for free while also getting a new and improved tier 10 at the same time. Wouldn’t a better tier 10 be enough?

        No, really, I just see these rewards as hidden missions for those who watch the news about WoT and who are willing to grind what they want instead of paying.

    • They’re probably going to nerf the 4202 down to a tier 8 premium and then give it away/put it up for sale as the British tier 8 prem medium.

      So it’s not like anyone’s going to walk away with 2 tier 10s out of this.

      Also, better is subjective. When the M103 replaced the T34, many, myself included, felt the T34 was better at tier 9 than the M103 is.

  14. FV4202? Good. I started grinding it ahead as I believed that they will give it to the owners for free. I am at T9 and I still need to unlock the last engine and the last gun, then grind to the sweet prize. :)

  16. Hey guys, do you think is it really worth to grind the FV rigth now? I have like 0 tanks in that line, and I don’t know if its 100% confirmed, or if I get enough time for that. What do ya think?

    • I’d consider it 100% confirmed by now and it seems doable to me at roughly 20k XP daily (since we don’t know if the change will come in 9.3 or later – it will be probably later), which is like 40 games a day without premium account. If an average game takes 3 to 5 minutes, its about 2 or 3 hours of gameplay each day. Since you need like 750k XP, it would take roughly 5 weeks of daily playing the British medium tank line for 2 to 3 hours a day, which is 75 – 100 hours of pure gametime, one third less with an active premium account. You have to know if a free T8 premium tank is worth that much of your time. If I were you I would at least consider trying, because most of the British medium line tanks was IMO great (mostly the lower tier ones) while the rest was at least mediocre, but never really bad.       • I think for most the 4202 is a bonus to grinding out a tier ten line. In the end you’re going to get a tier ten medium and a tank worth $50, for the same effort of getting any other tier ten medium.

    • It was a medium.
      Just one with a gun that could actually penetrate a Tiger.

      It went around with normal M4s so id go with it being a med.

  20. I would believe a damn word comes out of Evillys mouth personally he`s full of it he lied once before who`s to say this isn`t another one. If remember rightly there is a post somewhere on ftr regarding the fv4202 becoming a prem tank and it came straight from the horses mouth (serb himself) saying there will be no more free tanks. So we shall see great if happens but personally i don’t think they will.

    • The problem with the T34 is that too many people had it.

      If they think they can get as much/more money from giving it away (prem + xp conversion) + goodwill from players, then they will do it.

  21. So… Whats going to happen to the british heavies now that the MT line is going to have the 17 pdr a whole tier lower? You know the exact opposite of most nations where the MT has to wait a tier to get the better gun?
